I bought a pack of rags from Walmart to use for wiping cages down, it's easier to scrub away the pee and they absorb better also cheaper! I just throw the rags in the wash with the piggy laundry! And if there's spots in the cage like below the water area where it gets more soaked I put one there underneath fleece as extra absorbency 😊

Aww we have a herd of 5 girls too! Love them!

Watching the beginning and I am like where did the piggies go, because when I clean the cage, the piggies are constantly in the way being curious 😅 but love this kind of video thank you! And interesting to hear about your work now after graduatinng because I just graduated yesterday myself and also need to look for a full-time job. I am an introvert so I like to be alone with my piggies, but not each day so I am curious to see what I end up liking

Lol, they don't like walking on the coroplast so they usually stay out of my way!

how do u keep the smell down? i have 2 boys in a 2x6 and another boy in another 2x6 next to them (he is currently a foster but might end up being a foster fail and get a brother) but how do u keep the smell down? my roommate and i have a very small room in an apartment so smell is very noticeable edit: i spot clean twice a day, have litter boxes, and deep clean every 6-7 days

It's a UVB lamp! Helps their bodies to create vitamin D, like people do for reptiles.

I'm confused though, if the litter box is for them to pee why put hay in it? Don't they eat the hay? Shouldn't that be more in their eating area?

Guinea pigs pee the most while they eat! So it makes sense to have the hay in their litterbox so they can eat that while peeing. You do the same for rabbits. I give them fresh hay twice a day so they aren’t eating the soiled hay

@@autumngrace. Ohhhh! I wondered why sometimes my guinea wouldn't eat some of his hay even when there was still some left. Ok, thanks for the info. I learned something today.

Would you recommend getting a guinea pig? And do they like to be pet?

When you get one, you have to get two as they are social animals. Most piggies like to be pet, but some more than others depending on their personalities and they need to grow in trust with you. They are really sweet funny animals 💕 but definitly do some research on their care if you are interested in them. But you are on this youtubechannel so that is a good beginning!

@@Aimee574 for two guinea pigs at least 4x2 (c&c cage)(like 70x140cm) is recommended. They need enough horitzontal space :) most cages at pet stores are too small - so take a look at c&c cages, like Autumn has as well.
