    Just ordered one now. Finally a knife that looks ideal for EDC. Slim, strong, light and not weird gadgets added on. Opinel no5 was too flimsy and a swiss army knife was just needlessly heavy.

    Hey buddy, I appreciate you taking the time, to add some valued feedback 🤝 If I'm on the trail, then I carry a Manly Wasp & Opinel No.6 and of course I also enjoy SAK's but as you know some are just to heavy to EDC. Those few I have either are at home with my LM Charge+ or in the car, which I've often found, very handy. I love this Hegdehog, but I think they should of named it the, 'Crocodile' 🐊 as the snap 💥 is has some real bite! 😁 Thanks for stopping by, Atb Gus👍

    @@gadgetgus I think Opinels are actually great knives. They're a brilliant choice for EDC and the lock on them is incredible and the price even more so. It's a shame really that the UK restricts locking knives because locking Opinels is where you really start getting into Opinels at their best. The No5 is OK but that blade just flexes far too much for my liking. Swiss army knives are good too but who wants to carry around a corkscrew, nail file and fish knife around with it? Their more basic knife minus the rubbish is OK but there are better knives out there if you want a basic blade.

    I finally got the knife now and what a good little knife it is. So solid and not even a tiny bit of blade play. Just melts into the pocket.

    Great review. Saw them on the site and thought, they can’t be that good for that price. Clearly I’m wrong… now to choose which one to get. Which is your favourite style Gus?

    Hey buddy 👊🏼 It's a standard two-hand opening with the nail nick. However, you can quite easily 'pinch & pull' it with one hand, as I do, which is very helpful, especially if you're wearing gloves etc... Hope that helps, and thanks for watching, ATB Gus 👍🏼

    Hey mate, what would you recommend between this and the Boker Plus Heinne Tech Tool 1? They look similar and similar price points

  • @gadgetgus

    @gadgetgus

    Жыл бұрын

    Made in the same factory 🏭 and like you say, at a similar price... so for me, it comes down to a question of usage & taste. If your going to be using it, in damp or wet conditions, then go for the TT1 as it has the grippy G10 scales or if you prefer the industrial look and are going to be using in the dry, then the Alantic... HH have just listed a TT1 in Micarta, which looks great, but costs £35, so then I would consider the, HH 'Luna' with D2 - at under £30 - a real steal! 😉 Hope that helps Atb Gus 👍

    Is it just a Boker Atlas, but made by Real Steel?

  • @gadgetgus

    @gadgetgus

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, a fair question... having had both 'in hand', I can tell you they are simular, but mot the same... The Atlas is more refined, detailed and has a better 'fit & finish' and for an extra £4 - worth it. The HH Alantic is a great value alternative, but has a more utilitarian finish and does not come in Black Brass or Copper... I got it, as the Boker was out of stock at the time. Thanks for stopping by buddy, Atb Gus 👍

  • @UKIcarus

    @UKIcarus

    @gadgetgus thanks for that. Is the Atlantic a longer blade? I can't work out if the Black Atlas has a shorter blade than the copper/brass atlas as it would appear to on Cyclaire have different measurements but the same on others...

  • @gadgetgus

    @gadgetgus

    @@UKIcarus basically, the HH RS has 2mm more, which is negligible to be fair. More Importantly they are both UK 🇬🇧 Legal EDC's, so enjoy which ever you choose. Thanks for your valid feedback, Atb Gus 👍
