If everyone could draw in photo realism, I still doubt most people would. Stylization is kind of the point, and AI lacks a unique style because it's trained on other people's art. Not really, it's an art form like any other. Public perception of AI art is just "type few words and get cool image" but if you want to have an actually good looking result that makes sense visually, you'll have to spend a lot of time on it. I believe people working in corporate advertising will have their creative opportunities crippled by ai. I have a friend that's studying art in media, and they're hired in a corp which uses generative AI extensively, for the purpose of increasing output capacity. I think that will negatively impact the broad environment as it's rather interconnected.

@@orangenostrilYou know nothing about photography if you think that’s how it works. Photography, just like other arts require, skills, coordination, creativity etc. Writing in a prompt requires knowing how to write, which a lot of people can do.

Since ai art can be made significantly faster than real art. Even if 1/1000 ai photos are better then real ones. Eventually ai will just have the best visually appealing art. Now overall is different because history and importance is valued as well.

​@avalope the only reason why ai looks better and better is because it just splices other artists art together. So technically, ai can never be original or "new".

Ai art will never replace the real thing. I use Ai art as a reference point or inspiration for the real thing, like if I’m making a new character, but I refuse to use it as more than a tool.

As soon I saw that image I immediately knew it wasn't AI it's kinda easy to tell and idk how they didn't know.

And I think thus is the way to go, keep fully Ai generated art separate and letting real artists use Ai tools for inspiration. Because if it were just banned altogether, people would sneak it into real art competitions anyway, y'all seen how long it takes to catch fake speed runs sometimes? YEARS in some cases.

This is what happens when you don’t gatekeep the word “art” for years and years. yall call welding, professional driving or any other activity done with finesse “an art” Prompt writing is writing, and writing is widely considered an art, and the purpose of art is to invoke emotion. If you took these prompts and submitted them to a poetry context chances you’d consider that art, I mean, many times prompts read like poetry. The image could be considered an after product representing the thoughts inside the artists minds, a sort of interactive writing form. The worst part is, AI art is doing its job, it’s invoking emotion. You are upset at this, and it makes you question what art really is. If making the viewer feel something and start a conversation is not the purpose of art, I don’t know what is.

I can understand why you believe that, assuming you believe that Ai art is just a theft technology; Which is just a huge lie really. Ai art can definitely steal, but it doesn't have to. Ai art can simply use images as reference to create completely original images. You probably haven't heard this before, because everyone is either following the lies, or being tricked by them. I mean even Pirot Softwear claimed Ai just steals.
