Good luck on your first trip. Remain calm and carry on as by the time passengers get on the plane these days they are a bit weary and cranky from the long lines. Just dazzle them with your smile.

Awesome question! So when I commuted in to Minneapolis they did not cover my hotel. Only when you have layovers they will take care of that. This is one of the main reasons they warn flight attendants to not commute.

Thank you so much boo!! Congratulations to you for going to training!!!! That's major! My biggest advice is to take your time. Not everything will come right away but it will all make sense over time. Stay hydrated, stay healthy and pleaseee get some rest!! There's going to be days were you feel super tired but keep pushing through! You go this love! Remember they didn't choose you for no reason.

I have my video interview next week, hopefully I can get as far as you are or even fly together 🙂

Awesome question love! Minneapolis use to be super senior but with all of the new hires it is now very junior! I know people who have less than a year there and don't have adays (days where you're on call) and they can hold weekends off. Super jealous lol 😭 So far it hasn't been hard to get into in MSP so if you're interested go for it! Hope this helps! 💛

Hey love! So unfortunately those are some super senior bases especially HNL. I'm not quite sure what bases will be open around that time but I will say definitely hope for the best and just be mindful that you might have to commute for a while. Congratulations on your CJO 🥳

You can have a roommate when delta provides the hotel? I was under the assumption that you always get your own room?

You don't have a roommate when you're on your layovers but because I was going to base orientation it was completely different so we could have a roommate for that instance but definitely on your layovers you have your own room. I hope that clears it up sorry for the confusion! 😊

They provide you a hotel for base orientation? Is it because you’re a commuter? Also is that something that they know to know? Are you designated as a commuter?

Hey Nicki! Yes, they provided a hotel for everyone at base orientation regardless of commuting or not. You have the option to stay at hotel or decline the room. So there isn't a specific designation for a commuter but it's specific where you're based. So for an example, I'm viewed as a Minneapolis based flight attendant not a commuting Minneapolis based flight attendant. Commuting is all up to the individual. If you're willing to take on the challenge I say go for it! I hope that helps! 😊

So you can actually put in your base transfer as soon as you graduate but it all depends on the operation and what they have space for. I'm not quite sure with ATL will open again but I truly hope it opens up soon so many people don't have to commute. Hopefully more bases will be available to you so in case if you have to commute it can be something closer to you. Just going to keep hoping and praying!!
