    I flew for 30 years for a major US Airline. For those that are interested in being a flight Attendant word to wise. This job requires Self discipline you must be a mature responsibe, dependable man or women. If prospective trainee can't follow rules and regulations for a few weeks,😮 Then when on line they may not be won't be able to follow company rules and FAA guidelines. The job deals with safety and you must be able and willing to comply with safety rules and requirements. This career entails a lot of work and your time. You also have to be a professional person, you are representing the company this is a job not a college dorm. But this career has benefits and advantages and with seniority and time you will have flexibility and more days off that you can't get with another.. job! example a 9 to 5 job. Depending on the Airline you work for some fly domestic others fly international routes meaning your country and the world 🌍 are yours to explore. I remember my time as a flight Attendant with Continental Airlines and United was the best ride of my life. ❤. Good luck to all you future flight attendant. 🤞My Advice for those that make it to training, be a professional dress and act the part at all times. Focus and be on time for training. You hear 🙉 and see no evil no gossip no tattle tale🤭🤫 Study.. study.. study. Best of luck.

    Girl!! We had a girl dismissed because she came back from break 1 min late. She thought she was ok because she walked in with the instructors. NOPE!! regardless if the instructors were there or not.. she wasn't where she was supposed to be period.. we also lost someone because he was having "inappropriate conversations" with other classmates. It's brutal out here.. just graduated Class 11!!

    Good tips. In training someone got sent home for complaining about the way the company ran the training. She was in the bathroom complaining at the sink and I think an instructor was in the stall and heard her. This is why I didn’t say much in training other than when I was supposed to lol. I needed to focus.

    So a bit late but I’m hearing about the black socks thing and I’m curious. Also, not looking to become a flight attendant, like *at all* I’m merely curious since I work with them all the time so forgive me if I’m asking something that’s already been mentioned but… Do they tell you what to wear, to bring with you for training right down to the sock colour and type beforehand, like weeks beforehand? I’m aware that this is probably the case because it would be a bit of a dick move to demand something so specific that you might just plain not own. It might not be something that you wear personally so demanding something you don’t own and have to go out and buy yourself would be unfair. I work as ground crew in the UK and everything that is required to wear by the employer is provided straight up before any training where you’re going to need it is undertaken. Therefore yeah wearing the specific clothing they demand is easy and just a test of obedience… or safety in our case. Everything we wear is for our safety and practicality.

  • @realpristine

    @realpristine

    Жыл бұрын

    We are given a packet about a month in advance of what to wear. Cost for clothing would come out of our own pockets. 💩 Once we’re done with training we will be given uniforms supplied by the company

  • @mikoto7693

    @mikoto7693

    Жыл бұрын

    @@realpristine Huh, I’m genuinely surprised. We’re given everything we need before we even get through security on our first practical training day. I forgot that our uniform can include thermal socks in winter if we want them. Guess that means the only things I wear to work that are actually mine are my underclothes. But even in other non safety critical jobs when we’re allowed to wear our own clothing while the uniforms are on order and just had to wear a high vis or name tag to mark us as employees such as in retail I’ve never been told to wear something specific unless it’s provided. Otherwise it was guidance like flat practical shoes or not to wear jeans. How curious. I wonder if it’s an FA thing or an American thing. Anyway if you’re willing to answer questions I have a few. It would save me considerable time trawling through videos. It’s odd that I spend so much time working with or around FAs yet know so little beyond what’s commonly known. (Don’t worry, I know the primary purpose is safety for everyone on board and find it irritating that the public image seems to be of glorified waitstaff. I won’t even get into the verbal abuse FAs seem to get hit with because that’s a topic for another day.)

    Flight attendants are on the plane for safety of passengers. Passengers have heartattacs and other first aid problems.ypu have to know where and how to use emergency equipment. Can't depend on a wasted or high flight attendant.

    how old is too old? is 61 too old ?? just wondering. I know if you are older and you get the job - you need to just keep the age issue to yourself. Your right no one cares.
