I came from another time when montalban was just a small community of lush and green mountains , rice and corn fields. The atmosphere was totally different from what it is now. There weren't so many people in the whole town so we knew most of the families, the common and well-known. The current mayor of the town and the brgy captain of that vicinity you explored (they are brothers) are my childhood friends. I left montalban almost three decades ago and moved to europe and although it's comforting to see the progress taking place in my hometown i still wish i could go back in time and enjoy the nature of a paradise-like montalban.

Marikina is a must, Antipolo is good as well, though it's now crowded like Montalban...

Noong bata ako, kaunti lang tao sa Montalban noon, puro palayan pa at bukid. Wala pang Kasiglahan, Eastwood, Southville, etc. Ngayon magulo na at marami nang tao. Di rin matrapik, dati puro bus, patok na jeep, at mga trak galing sa quarry lang nadaan sa lansangan...

Hi @Ash. Ab. actually in some of the cities they plastics are banned. People are forcer to use paper straws, wooden spoon and fork, paper cups. However, in some cities they are still not strict on reinforcing it

This marketplace looks a lot more pleasant than those in Manila (shown in your videos). But I remember seeing the place not as crowded. Seem like it is also cleaner and less polluted. Keep safe. Cheers!

Try to live here for a long term, cost of living here is very cheap especially at the countryside

amazing how you describe a place as "poor" using your own criteria and standard. these people don't even ralize they are poor. they have enough to survive and continue living a HAPPY LIFE. unlike other places in the world that have everything but couldn't provide their aging citizens enough to sustain daily subsistence. so they move to other place that are "poor" to continue living.

@@jojobuenaflor3568 I saw from another comment that you are from this town. No offence, but to me the area looked poor, but I was comparing it with other videos from MGL that I've watched and not with my European standards. I think most poor people actually know that they're poor, even if they're happy in their lot - if everyone around you is on the same minimum wage, you maybe don't feel the pinch quite as much. And yes, the pensions in a lot of European countries are low compared to average wages, but there is a safety net and going to PH to live off your western pension is IMO not a good idea for most people.

@@expatexpat6531 the area looked poor because your european standard says so. many of these people will die poor , according again to your western standard but they will never die abandoned and unhappy in a corner of a rundown hospital somewhere in europe or america. most of these people will leave this world well taken care of by their loved ones. they'd surely prefer that over a so called safety net
