Real Families Feature: Journey with the Radford Family

Ойын-сауық

It's a big year for the Radford family, the UK's biggest family living under one roof. Mum Sue is expecting her 16th baby while daughter Sophie is due to have her first baby the month before. What’s life like when you have enough children to field your own football team? How do mums of large families keep on top of it all and how do they cope when the kids grow up and start moving on? Does the desire for having a large family feed down into the younger generations?
Real Families brings you stories of modern day family life from around the world through the eyes of children, parents, and parenting experts.

But you forget to also add child tax credits on top of that on which many of the older kids are eligible for as this was before the two child cap . The magic bakery has a food hygiene rating of less than 3 and apparently only makes less than £50,000 a year allowing them to also claim allowances for help with uniforms too. I love the Radfords, they are brave and loving souls. They've taken all those kids on holidays abroad, some families with way less have never even been on a plane or driven to another country, this lot has been to France, Florida, Spain and Australia, also like Belgium? or somewhere like that. They do movie nights indoors and outdoors, dad built a new swing set for them and covered their entire lawn in fake grass, plus dad cooks awesome meals for the fam, their kids aren't fussy with food because the parents make the same meal for everyone and they all eat together. The kids do well on Christmas and birthdays and know how to share with one another. So sick of the criticism this family has faced over the years for their choices, they are a fantastic bunch and I salute them! If only all couples could stay together like this, most people are split up and divorced these days. They have a vlog for those who wanna keep up with them, search "The Radford Family".

What? Why? That makes no sense, you’d stop particular families from having kids but provided they only had a certain number allow other families to keep having them? There’s no logic. Also, talking about the environment? Really? So just no one should have kids then, unless we’re going back to only restricting certain families. It makes no sense.

I saw some comments saying this family is having too many kids and they are irresponsible, I personally don’t think there’s a limit to having kids unless you can’t provide for them, these kids are living a happy life, they have a roof over their heads, food, toys, entertainment and many more. also I think they should try adopting kids instead, there’s a lot of children with no homes but if they don’t wanna then that’s their decision

Wow 14 is so young to have a child, imagine note being to go to parties and have fun with your friends. Also I feel really sorry that the mum and dad couldn’t be there to see the eldest give birth to her child.

Their are so many generational curses over this family, from the mother got pregnant at 14 and now has 20+ children and then her 2 daughters got pregnant at 18. And they say we expected it, you don’t expect things like this for your children. I’m not saying not to support them but grow them in a way that makes them not want to follow in your footsteps..

At 18, as an adult, they decided to have children. It may not be what you want, and it's good not everybody does it, but it's their choice.

The family clearly work so hard, but my god the kids don't get the motherly and fatherly attention they would in smaller families.

The parents are doing great but i wonder in a couple of years if 1 child wants to do soccer and another 1 wants to ice skate and another 1 wants to horse ride etc...etc...how can the parents possibly support and attend each sporting venue.

Don't agree atall with that comment. I see mother's of only 2 children that don't have the attention those children have. They are fantastic parents and also don't ask for any help from the government. So I think they are amazing !!!!!

At least they are supporting themselves with an actual family business, and they are not relying on the oldest kids to look after the little ones. Good for them!
