Glad I finally discovered these guys
This record is brilliant. Deceptive in its simplicity and tone. Go out and buy this record today. Genius!
Start times: 0:24 - "The Bend" 6:04 - "Talking Backwards" 12:58 - "Crime" 16:28 - "Horizon"
That changeup at 4:41 will always get me. Like jumping in a pool and blissfully sinking to the bottom and slowly rising back to the surface. Hard to believe this was A DECADE AGO 🤯
Miss you Matt!

At least we can still listen to his music in ducktails
It took COVID 2020 to fully discover this band. Well worth the wait!

if only...
awesome performance!
in despite of their noised sound, opened chords, and simple concepts that make it all daily and near and reminds to the most oppresive childhood, I notice in their psycodelia the beattles still talk through them
Wow the keyboard sounds so dang good on Crime.
Great job! Always impressed by your wonderful work! Laughed with you guys when Alex slipped at 17:08.
This is perfect!
Damn these KEXP sessions sound like they were mixed by God and recorded at Heaven Studios.
Love!
love it
drummer sets that tempo straight on the last tune...nice!
Burt Cokain on drums everyone!

Man, he's as irritating to watch as to listen to--so much motion for so little result. His playing on Atlas is intrusive.

SunHead this is so true! Even the latest record isn’t very good at all, Matt simply had a way With writing guitar parts that resonated uniquely!
Love the keyboard player's sweater
Regardless of what you think of Matt, that man can play a freakin guitar.
Could anyone suggest what pedal sound the acoustic guitar would be going through on "talking backwards"? He plays a chord before the song starts and it sounds great
@yourstruly2619

could be a light chorus or maybe a vibrato..
Better live now than a few years ago.
guys,somebody have tabs "talking backwards"?

Doesnt matter!!
Alex screws up the bass part during the intro and first verse of Horizon and its hilarious
Sortt of reminds me of vintage Death Cab for Cutie..
hahaha Matt's face.... 17:40.
lindo
Reminds me of Vetiver and Two Hours Traffic.
Matt :')
Hey anyone know what martin he's playing so pretty looking and probable a dream to play, I probable should know though...

5:51 Black Sabbath - Iron Man???
I wanted them to play past lives :( but its still fine
I liked this keyboard heavy version of Horizon.
Shame bc I actually like this melodic guitarist:/ who’s here 2020 for that late night tea by the beside the bedside lamp
Can anyone tell me what guitar Matt is playing?

I mean he was struggling to vocally stay in tune so maybe he was frustrated about it. He's probably used to fan interaction and in other words: more noise to hide behind
Surprised they can get away with this name considering it's half of the name of one of the greatest emo bands ever: Sunny Day Real Estate.
Marvelous... Epic... enough said. If you don't like this band you are deaf!!! :)
Martin's way too cute in this vid
why does Martin Courtney always look pissed lmfaoo
Oh, God, Hahahahahahah! Oh My God ... Each time seems shirt with Richard Pryor ... hahahahahahaha ...! Real Estate is great, but take that shirt there, please ?! Huahuahuahuahuahua!
definitely hearing a failure influence.
Kurt Cobain on drums hahaha!!!

Piano guy looks bored lol
don't mind if you like but i don't like. Im just trying to imagine myself seeing these guys live, just standing there, how would that work?, it would make me sad.
@Lunafan1

They're actually great live! Much better energy in front of a crowd.
I love the music and especially the singer. I understand God hates them, though.
i dont know why,but the piano kills it for me,i think its too damn loud and i don't think it goes great with the band's sound,i know the piano will be present on the new album, but i don't know i just prefered them without it
This band hasn’t had any good songs since kicking out the duck. Meanwhile, ducks output has been great. Easy to see where the talent and vision lies here
Good instruments, interesting chords and great overall sound but the cliché indie-whiny voice and meh lyrics lost me... EDIT: liked it anyway, these guys are good and just need to ditch the singer!

Care to explain why you think these are meh lyrics? To me, this band has never felt more mature on their new album.

I just adore narcissistic music lovers. "Hey, I like a few things about your band but you need to fundamentally change the band's dynamic by firing what could be the band's founding member in order to satisfy my narrow tastes."

This band is great how it is. I do hear that most end notes of his phrases are out of tune, but that's something he can work on and improve as he continues to make music rather than get "ditched." His lyrics and melodies are really cool and relaxing and a key part of what makes this band what it is.
