Tama si Doc na nagsabing we were taught Western medicine and it's hard to admit na we don't know everything in the context of Asian/Pinoy culture. From a community medicine perspective (na inconsistent din ang implementation across PH med schools), it's important din for doctors to respect where these myths come from and guide na lang if certain cultural traditions can potentially cause harm. Mema haha pa-interview rin po ako :) Charot

For me it doesnt happen to me. I eat sweets sometimes at night time ofc i would drink water before sleeping or if i didnt got lazy i would brush my teeth again. I would still get a "sore throat" but not the way ur thinking. I think its just my old saliva in my mouth while sleeping so this is why brushing teeth in the morning is important :V

This is a great topic. Kaya anlaki ng market sa atin ng mga so called "Food supplements" that states "No approved therapeutic claims" These professional doctors just proves that you better go to a doctor to seek help and they will provide you with science based treatment.

Functional doctors are better. They believe in nutrition. Mga gamot tulad ng statins, most doctors get their knowledge from big pharmas.

@@jecstrike as long as not backed by big pharmas. Statin drugs can cripple and kill people. Lahat publicly available and yet doctors profusely deny them. Medical doctors are mostly fond of tossing inhibitors. Like when it comes to cholesterol, using statins is stupid as inflammation and oxidative stress are the problem. Sa Gerd, acid is needed to avoid indigestion and yet, they toss omeprazole to lower the acid. Why? Dahil backed ng big pharmas, may pera. Dr William li is an MD/scientist who advocates nutrition for healing. Healers are who we need. Anyhow, the bottom line is, read the side effects of medications tossed by most doctors. After a stu*** one made me ill, hindi biro, at panay tanggi na ang doctor, parang ang hirap ng mag tiwala sa mediocre doctors. If you watch long podcasts of Dr Hyman, Dr. Berg, etc. I was a good patient until lumabas na lahat ng symptoms sakin at Di na ma explain ng cardio. Now I need to help myself and learn about mitochondrial cocktail, lahat ng pwede ko itry dahil naniwala ako sa Dr na binigay sakin lason. You wouldn't undestand until you're in my shoes and wala ka na choice but to accept if any day mamatay nalang sa sama ng lagay. Of course I read reviews, of course I weigh them. Do you know what's healing me now? Herbs, sprouts, supplements - - trial and error ako. But of course, I listen now sa mga functional doctors. And doctors who fell ill themselves kase may empathy sila.
