I can just see FD2S (or what I imagine he’d look like 😂) walking through the terminal to his gate, looking rather dashing in his captain’s attire only to find he’s wearing those on his feet. 😂
Nice foot cam ! Thanks for this as a non pilot the "fine details" are what I lack.

It’s amazing how much you’re brain is trained to do things naturally, I see at 8:34 you went for what was the real 737 landing gear 😀

Very nice! Seen lots of crosswind landing vids, but never a crosswind takeoff - highly informative. Also - after watching tons of your vids over the last few days, I finally bought X-Plane yesterday - my brain hurts! The lessons I had in a 172 in Birmingham (EGBB) many, many years ago all came back - thanks for rekindling my love of flying! Mouse flying is not ideal though.... 🙂

I love these tutorials, please keep them coming!
Your tutorials are always among the most helpful. Thank you very much.
This guy is the best by far on KZread !!
Always love to see your video. thank you
Great explanation of the technique. Also, I didn’t know about the deadband; that’s a detail we can only get from a pilot with actual experience on the aircraft
Great job Cap! Videos like this one are extremely important to people that are considering a career in flight. I used to fly back in the 90's, small private, and these situations do come around. Thanks for videos like these. Btw...nice shoes. Lol. Stay well.
Superb video Captain!
absolutely fantastic. what an insight
This is great! Now let’s see a strong x-wind landing!
Excellent, thank you for supporting our hobby👍
Thanks, those type of video are very useful 🤗

Very nice !
Missed an opportunity for a Llama International tutorial video. Open appropriate window and blow as hard as you can to counteract the crosswind.
A very helpful tutorial. Thanks mate. Looking forward to the crosswind landing tutorial.

Epic tutorial! Thanks FD2S. Clearly it took a lot of effort to edit it all together. New livery for tutorials is great also! Had to laugh about the foot cam morphed into the engine display 😂

Those slippers? They need their own tutorial.
Wonderful cap, succinctly delivered! I'd imagine the aileron-into-wind part of the technique to feel less intuitive in the Scare Bus with the sidestick, though I suppose you'd get accustomed to it.

Thank you! Whether the Airbus needs aileron into wind I really don't know, the 737 is a big old conventional aeroplane. FD2S
You would have fun with the B-52, it has a crab function you dial in on the landing gear depending on the kind of crosswind the crew has to deal with.
Please continue giving us more tutorials cap

Really enjoyed this tutorial.:) I found the rudder cam very useful and a cam that is always forgotten. Thank you very much. Is there any plan on having the same thing about where I struggle the most: The whole landing 5 phases :( ! I am talking about approach (stabilized - focal point - …) - roundup - flare - touchdown - rollout. That could even be a bunch of mini videos like this one :) ;)

Alpaca Airways special request from Boeing.....! FD2S
That tutorial was very helpful captain. How do you rate the Thrustmaster Boeing yoke? It looks like it handles better than the Honeycomb Alpha, which l find a little stiff on most aircraft.
😀❤️❤️❤️
Is there any way you could display your control inputs overlaid on your videos, small in a corner perhaps?
Many thanks, but it is not as easy as this looks, a lot of practice and still I can not hold the centre line anywhere near as good as you demonstrated. Perhaps it is those shoes after all that make cross wind take-offs look good? Thanks to Epse in the next comment.
Awesome! I reckon the slippers are essential for success?
@flightdeck2sim

A many a butter these slippers have achieved Listamin!
Let me get this straight you mean after you rotate and you are climbing out, with a left crosswind, you "do not" need to use left rudder to maintain runway heading.
@flightdeck2sim
2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely Peter otherwise you will drift downwind. As soon as you are airborne neutralise any rudder and aileron input. FD2S
Does nosewheel steering disengage after a certain ground speed? I know it does for a couple of smaller regional type jets and the A3xx family, but was curious if it did for the 37 as well.
@flightdeck2sim
2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't disengage but you do not want to use the tiller, the rudder had some input towards nose wheel steering, less than 10 degrees. FD2S
Now do crosswind landing!
how can we get the flight deck 2 sim 737 livery?
Do you find that the zibo 737 is too “sensitive” to crosswind conditions in X Plane? A stiff crosswind will make even full aileron deflection insufficient to prevent excessive bank sometimes. This is especially noticeable when de crabbing on landing. Even slight rudder inputs require disproportionate amounts of aileron correction compared to other planes like the Toliss
@noah9130
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think I remember him saying it was a little bit too sensitive in comparison to the real thing

Hey captain, on the rudder cam, it looks like you're also applying some right toe brakes? Is this something you would recommend on the real plane?
@flightdeck2sim
2 жыл бұрын
Hi C H, the brakes are disabled and always have been, there is no feel to them at all. The pedals only act as a rudder. You would never use differential braking during take off. FD2S
