REAL 3D Stroke WITHOUT Plugins | After Effects Tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

You don't need Maxon Red Giant's Trapcode plugin to create a 3D Stroke. In this After Effects Tutorial I'm gonna show you how to create a 3D Stroke that interacts with the 3D Camera.
No Plugins. No 3D Software. Just native effects!

  • @MichaelPonch

    @MichaelPonch

    Күн бұрын

    Thank you very much 😊. Do you mean the line wraps around your PNG. It’s a 2D layer after all. So you have to use masking tricks to convey the illusion that the line goes behind your PNG. Or do you mean your png bends along the line? This would be impossible in AE but achievable in Blender or C4D

    In principle yes, it depends on the video. What you can do is 3d camera track the video. And place the null objects in 3d space. But as it is fake 3d the stroke always has a consistent thickness. In some cases you could mimic perspective with tapered strokes

    Sure, you can copy the path in AI and paste it into the Shape Layers Path attribute. From here you can procede with my technique. I recommend it only if your SVG consists of a few paths. Would be tedious to process a lot of paths and the resulting Null Layers 😊

  • @MichaelPonch

    Hi 👋. Just got your mail with your AI. Unfortunately it’s too complex for this technique. It’s rather something to accomplish in a 3d software where you 3D bend it along a spiral. There might be plugins but I would use a 3D program like Blender or C4D.
