This worked out so well for my project. I has Illustrator layers that I animated manually (lots of lines) but the 3d aspect took so little time. My only change was that when I zoomed in on small parts of the animation, I has to change the script to increment the z position by "1" instead of "3" to avoid seeing the spacing.

I always thought I needed a 3d software to make a so perfect animation. Thank you for all your life-saving tutorials ! You can't know how much this channel is helpful to the designers community. Always be creating ! 🙏🏾

No problem! If I remember correctly, I precomposed the logo. So you can swap in your logo within that composition. Might need to apply the fill effect again.

This is really really cool. However, is there a way to make the Vegas effect behave like an inner stroke instead of an outer stroke? It would help maintain proportions and spacing in the logo.

I've run into this too. I found that using generate stroke, instead of Vegas, for the animation works just as well.

Subsctibed - can this stuff be done in Fusion, Da Vinci Resolve?

Great tutorial! But I have one question ... what could be the reason that my outlines always have coarse structures (even if the logo is noticeably larger in AI).

is it possible to make the Vegas stroke Inner or outside of the logo path instead of centre?

Great BUT... When the camera moves closer to the object, detail level is quite low and it has that "slices look". I even tried to duplicate the pre-composed logo layer more than the indicated times, but still the same. Full disclosure, I am new to the AE world, but it seems that the same issue is visible in the sample created in the tutorial. Not sure this can be used in a professional production. Unless I am missing something of course.

I think you can achieve a better version of this with the 3D extrusion via C4D renderer nowadays. Might look better if you up the render detail prolly.

Yes, I always feel iffy about doing 3D stuff in AE, because you can usually get better results in real 3D software.

Have some faith, Adobe seems to be trying to move us to using assortments of apps, so you extrude in AI then send to Substance then send to AE. But I hear you, you'd have more options with a 3D dedicated app... Also more buttons tho :D

@@vbrownemail Bummer. For some reason when I deleted a few of the layer copies the black background went away. He said 27 copies in the video, so I deleted a like 3 or 4 and it went away. But that's not ideal because what if I want to make it thicker by adding more copies?

After effects must give us Camera Crane or Camera Morph like in Cinema 4d you place different Cameras with different angles and then there is Master camera which link to those camera and then that master camera follows those camera angles n create smooth movement.
