I’ve purposefully took my sweet time with a book because I didn’t want it to end! (Also I love Legends & Lattes! Making cinnamon rolls after is such a perfect way to finish reading that book.)

I'm so glad you loved this book! I read it a few months ago and I'm already wanting to curl up with it again. It's just the coziest thing, and the perfect story for everyone who loves coffee. And I'm so dang excited for the bookshop prequel!

I AM SO HAPPY YOU LOVED LEGENDS & LATTE!! For some reason it always feels like a victory to me when someone picks it up and thoroughly enjoys it. I was so hungry reading the book. We must protect Thimble at all costs! I'll need to see if my paperback edition has the short story. I can't remember when I bought it cuz I read it on kindle first and then bought it in paperback. But I also love that this is spawning so many cozy fantasies! I read Can't Spell Tea Without Treason and I enjoyed it, not as much as L&L but you really can't strike gold twice, right? Still definitely suggest it. I also bought the second book in that series but I haven't read it yet. Perception Check is on my TBR too. Just gimme all the cozy fantasy books please! The only warm drink I like is tea. Gimme my coffee iced plz lol

I don't know how i missed this video before I read Legends & Lattes. I love it, it's a delight! I've recommended it to my siblings--my sister finished it and loved it, and now one of my brothers is reading it. The other will likely have to listen to the audiobook at work, and maybe my sister-in-law too. L&L is probably tied with the middle-grade novel A Snicker of Magic by Natalie Lloyd as my top favorite books.

I prefer hot coco but this video made me want to get my warm drink of choice and so I did so thanks for that.

It's SO good! I gifted my copy to my bestie, who lives in another state, so I bought another copy for myself ❤

I just finished rereading Legends & Lattes, but I didn't know there was a short story! I have to read it somehow.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this book! I have been looking forwad to it for months, I thought I would love it too, but sadly it didn't really meet my expectations :( I thought it was very "tell, don't show". Oh well!

I totally know how you feel. I hadn't watched the last season of Brooklyn 99 until my partner strongly suggested that I do. I just loved the cast and characters so much that I just wanted them to live forever in my imagination as they were.

YESSSSSS! Another of my favorite rewatches!! Glad to know I'm not alone in trying to hold off as long as possible bahaha. It's a strange kind of mourning, reaching The End of a beloved show/book series. I feel the same when the final book in a trilogy comes out too bahahah.

Me pausing the video and buying the book so I can read it first and not get spoiled.😂😂😂 (I'll finish the video after lol) In all seriousness, this has been on the To Read list for forever, and your words have given me the incentive to go ahead and read it. Okay, so after reaching a little past the 50% margin, I have come to the conclusion that this book was not for me and I DNF it lol. I can certainly see why people would love it! The prose is fantastically smooth, the characters are loveable, and the setting/atmosphere was great. Ultimately, my dislike of the book comes down to I was SO bored. The setup was very slow, and the characters while interesting were very hard for me to connect to. I couldn't find a reason to really care about them even so far into the book. Maybe this would change if I read a little further, but I just can't bring myself to lol. I had to put the book down for school and sadly I didn't feel the undying urge to pick it back up. Overall, I have learned that I just do not care for cozy fantasies. I want the high stakes, I want the stress, and I want to frantically skim the pages hoping that the characters will somehow make it out alive! Still, I would certainly recommend it to people who love cozy fantasy, it'll be right up their alley!

Alright, alright. You have fully convinced me I need to get my hands on this book. It actually sounds right up my alley. I enjoy fantasy, but sometimes find the "charging into battle" scene make me want to skip them. Why couldn't they just mash together a cozy cafe mystery and fantasy. Sounds like that happened a bit here, and I am DOWN for it. And more in a series? Yes please. Sometimes I like to just dive into a series and swim around in that world for months. How do you read for enjoyment AND to study their craft at the same time? I've learned my brain just won't do that. Pleasure first, education second for me. I so enjoyed watching YOU enjoy yourself. You can make more content like this.

:) I have a feeling I'm going to be obsessed with this book especially because I heard it's like Animal Crossing in book form. I love this concept of low stakes fantasy world-based stories and I wish there were more out there!

A Cozy fantasy? I am in! Had to also pause the video so I won't get too many spoilers lol Got it immediately as ebook and can't wait to start when I get into bed :) If you like coziness I would recommend "Boots" by Julian Greystoke - a cosy retelling that really was just lovely to read! I'm 95% sure I bought it at a Barnes & Noble!! It was a year or two ago, but they might still have some online! And yesssss, I think you would too! A warm hug is definitely the best way to describe it. :) 🐙

I just finish this book and donated it to my local library. This is the kind of fantasy I'd like to see more of. I have one idea for a story where two friends have to pay their bar tab and try to sell an epic fantasy MacGuffin.

@@KateCavanaugh I'm not sure! I think it was just a "reading mood" sort of situation, where it just wasn't the right fit for what I was looking to get cozy with. More likely than not I'll return to it at a later date, because the concept is awesome to me (I'm a barista and I play DND so this sort of thing is literal bait for folks like me haha) but it just wasn't what I needed from a book at this particular moment (and, it was in such high demand at the library that I could only borrow it for a seven-day period!)

I haven't read Legends & Lattes yet, but from the way it looks in your video, I think you might also enjoy a manga series I absolutely love called Delicious in Dungeon. An adventuring party is making their way through a dungeon to save a friend and they end up having to eat the dungeon monsters along the way in order to survive. They get really creative with some of the recipes and it's weird how hungry I always end up getting watching them cook and eat monsters haha.

I listened to the audiobook for this a few weeks ago. I thought I wasn’t gonna like it but ending up loving it. The audio performance was great, so I recommend it (it’s on Scribd right now in audio)

Ahhhh YES! My partner listened to it on audio and really enjoyed it. We went on a roadtrip when he was finishing it up so I got to hear about the last hour of it over again. SO GOOD.

@@KateCavanaugh So two things - I’m not normally a huge fan of the very sword-and-sorcery D&D inspired books. Not for any particular reason I can voice, they just tend not be resonate with me. (My partner and I laugh because we both love fantasy books but with very little overlap) But the coziness of this one won out And 2) I felt like few chapters in I almost stopped because I felt like it was a little slow to start. Once the coffee shop opened, I loved it, but the setup went on a little long for me

Are you going to pick up the prequel coming this November?

@@KateCavanaugh I think my only real complaint was the description of the food seamed a but lacking, like the smells and description was good but then when actually eating the food we didn't get a full description of the flavor profile. Though I did rate it like 4.5/5 on storygraph

I'm not sure this book is my cup of tea, but I like the idea of it. LOL I don't like coffee...I'm a tea drinker. :)

I wanted to love this book SO BAD, but I don't think it was quite my cup of... coffee. I rated it 3.5 stars, so I definitely liked it, but I wanted that high that everyone seemed to get while reading it and didn't get it sob
