I don’t know how anybody can do this straight through! I would inevitably get to the point where I would just be trying to read one paragraph over and over but never taking it in 😂 I really enjoy your content and love how you’re always up to try new things. My husband is like that and is also not afraid to be outside of the “target demographic” of a book. I think it’s a great trait to have ☺️

Props to you for trying to read straight through! I would have fallen asleep after 6hrs probably LOL I hate that reading makes me sleepy but it's inevitable. Also, half way through Golden Son right now and WOW - glad to have discovered you and Ashlynn for all the good recs~

Really enjoyed this vlog. I'm sad you didn't like American Psycho but can completely understand why. If you'd like to try something else by Bret Easton Ellis, may I recommend The Shards. It's less violent and less graphic all round, has some great nostalgia, and has the theme that Brett weaves into a lot of his books which I won't type as it's a mild spoiler 🤓 Love that you read a variety of genres!

I do want to give Mr. Ellis another chance. I know “American Psycho” was meant to be shocking, but I just couldn’t do it. I think he definitely is a good writer, so I don’t want to blacklist him just yet! Thank you for the recs!!

Holy crow! I didn't know it was two different authors!! I read this book because of your wife and I actually loved it and it went to my favorites! This was so fun to watch. I read The Unhoneymooners when it first came out a few years ago. I tabbed every part that made me laugh. Oh my Lord. Almost every page is tabbed. LOL. I DNF'ed American Phyco as well. I thought it was the worst thing I had ever read. I don't know why it was ever published. I just have to read the Green bone saga. I have all of them. Just haven't picked them up. Tell your sweet little wife that I ordered The Ballad of Never After because I just had to have that beautiful cover. lol I love watching you guys so much. Omg! I enjoyed this so much. You never saw the movie for American Psycho with Christian Bale😳I closed my eyes in a lot of that movie. I definitely would never attempt in reading it. You and Ash got me to read Unhoneymooners, and it’s actually my favorite summer read. Ok..now we’re getting serious. My reading group and I attempted Jade City.. and all 7 of us failed miserably. Maybe, I should give it another go🤷🏻‍♀️

MEGAN!?!? I was wondering who on KZread knew my nickname!! What the heck, it’s good to hear from you! So, I find all of my audiobooks on the Libby app. It’s an app you hook up your library card to. What’s cool is that Utah does a library consortium, so they lump hundreds of libraries into a pool and can pick books form literally hundreds of thousands of book options! It’s been a game changer with reading!

I give you props for trying to stay up straight through but doesn't matter how you do twenty-four read-a-thons because some people that do booktube also have another job, family, and etc.. so it is acceptable to do it in anyway that you can do it. I personally wouldn't be able to anymore only because I have two children and they take a lot of energy as it is. XD

Whilst I enjoy these types of videos, it still puzzles me as I don’t log my hours reading but reading every single day will ultimately log up well more than 24 hours within a certain time period. Love to hear your opinion of books though, dude.

I really dragged myself to read Unhoneymooners partly because a lot of hyped up books didn’t hit the same for me and and the Goodreads depiction wasn’t exactly inviting. However I ended up really loving it even though I knew how it would end from the very first chapter.

You should get into Brandon Sanderson’s cosmere universe. I’d recommend reading in publication order! You’d really enjoy it.

@@HarrisonLusk thank you for the suggestion! Honestly, you’re the first person I know of that has actually brought that to my attention. I watch plenty of booktube content, and Sanderson is always mentioned, but a specific reading order is never discussed.

That’s strange🤔 I know the sixth RR book just released, so there’s probably going to be a huge surge for the books. Honestly, I got all of mine online a few months ago. There’s a pretty good bundle for the first 5 novels for the price of what you would spend in store for maybe two, three books off the shelves. Have you tried B&N? I know they’re usually more pricey, but they should be stocked to the teeth with at least the first three novels!?!?

Just out of interest, I know you’re a Christian but why are you SO against any sexual content? I know a lot of the time it is not well written and doesn’t add anything but sometimes it can be very important in writing, in my opinion of course

I don’t love American Psycho but damn you really don’t like it. It does a good job being a commentary on materialism and greed but offers no fix or constructive ideas around it.

Love the fact that he isn’t ashamed to read romance. Many men don’t even like to give that genre a try and think it’s girly, but he’s here reading The Unhoneymooners 🥹
