I think the argument "its a kids movie" is a terrible one. That's borderline saying children are stupid and not being able to form thoughts. Other film like Lion King, Toy Story, and Beauty and the beast are made for kids and yet adults frequently look back fondly on them and even rewatch them. It being a kids movie doesn't give it an excuse to have lazy writing and horrible animation.

Usually i’d end up thinking why can’t a movie just simply be a silly movie instead of having some life message in it or something, but Alpha and Omega isn’t even that honestly so I can’t say that

You guys see Avatar? 👌👌👌 I rewatched it for the first time since I was like 5 and omgosh it holds up. And Ben 10, and Adventure Time, and Regular show, and the first three seasons of SpongeBob, and My Little Pony (haven't watched MLP but my sister likes it and I trust her taste), and Spectacular Spiderman, and there are so many good kid stuff that I remember fondly to this day.

I’m sorry, I do agree that it’s not a good argument and I see your point, but you just can’t compare the other films you mentioned to the Alpha and Omega franchise- Crest Animation Productions isn’t as good as Disney. Disney is obviously enjoyed by a wide range of viewers because of how well they tell the story. Alpha and Omega, and all the spin-offs, have terrible storylines (in my opinion) that are told in a confusing pattern or not told at all and when compared to movies with much better built storylines like the Toy Story movies- it’s hard not to make this same argument that it was made for kids.

I really dont understand the "it doesn't have to be good because it's for kids" argument. Children are basically information sponges and the information they receive shapes them so much more than it does to an adult. And it's not like it's impossible to make something for kids that adults can enjoy too, just look at the best work of Pixar. It's great for kids but can still be enjoyed by people of any age as genuinely well written and animated cinema.

True but as far as actual character re-use, the only anime I can think of that does that is Pokemon with Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. Still the show itself even plays that off as a joke to an extent. Also it's a kids show so more serious anime watchers don't really spend energy getting mad at it as they have usually moved on from the Pokemon anime by then.

Wanting to write for children myself, I really dislike the “it’s for kids” argument. If it’s for kids, then adults should be able to enjoy it too (especially since more often than not adults write these things!). It’s not rocket science, just put thought and care into what you make and you can’t go wrong! I myself found Alpha and Omega to be campy, nothing over the top amazing but something to ponder about from time to time.
