    Great video Chycho, truly relaxing. I really enjoy how you talk about a comic book, about writers and background in general before reading. :)

    As always. thanks for the reading, Chycho! I now watched this video for the second time :-) "She died alone in pain and terror" (22:20) says Batman to the father of Sissy; I guess it's back to Psych 101 for him. You don't mention things like that when talking to the bereaved! Although Sissy's father doesn't seem particularly bothered. This brings me to another point: Don't take potentially dangerous and addictive drugs from someone who shows a conspicuous lack of empathy and who has a habit of grinning devilishly (44:00)! My favorite sentence from this issue is by Alfred (34:50) talking to Bruce: "Your whole life testifies to a great capacity for obsessions [...]" Well said :-)

    haha... well said indeed. From the whole Batman universe, Alfred is the only person that really knows them, both Bruce and Batman.

    A renowned detective like Batman would have tested the contents of the drug to make sure the doctor wasn't screwing with him. Then maybe reverse engineer the drug so he can still bro up but without the addictive sides

    Hey Chycho just wanted to say that I have been on the long standing stance that Batman and then Spiderman have the best villians/rogue gallery. Great video

    Agreed on that. Both Batman and Spiderman are defined by them. I also very much like the villains in the Valiant universe. Master Darque and Harada are two of the top villains in any universe.

    Back when I read this as a kid, I thought it would be just beyond the capabilities of a human male to be able to deadlift 630 pounds. Today I know there are thousands of guys in the world who can do it. But I guess only a handful can do it without steroids, so this storyline was pretty realistic.

  • @thenextshenanigantownandth4393

    @thenextshenanigantownandth4393

    It's not a deadlift it's an overhead press. The world record for an overhead press is 400 pounds. Batman was attempting to overhead press 630 pounds. I knew it wasn't a deadlift as a kid because later in the issue batman did the same feat on venom, but lifted it above his head, and early when he was lifting the rocks he was chucking them over. He probably pulled his shoulder out while it was above his head, but we don't see that on panel. Batman is suppose to be the peak of human perfection physically. Batman has bench pressed 1000 pounds on panel so he can easily deadlift 630 pounds. That rock batman was attempting to haul was probably in the 2 ton range. The venom gave batman that superhuman strength he craved at a price.

    +Ray Orbison For sure, I love that series... for the next comic book reading set I'll try and find my box of Savage Sword, fingers crossed that it will be an easy find. All the issues I have are pretty beat up since I've read then multiple times and loaned them out to family/friends... if for some reason I can't find my collections (buried deep in storage) I'll probably try and get my hands on a set from an auction. I don't have a complete run (I've still yet to read the first few early issues) so I've always wanted to get the full run and this might be a good reason to do it. Just the thought of it gets my all excited :)

    All of your comic vids are awesome. I read a lot through the 80's. I was always a Marvel guy. i just couldn't get into DC stuff. Later on I did get into Image stuff a good bit. Have you ever read any of the Cyber Force books, from Image? This was a great book. I know its almost cliche but how about some Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, or the Punisher. The cross-over of the fight between Punisher and Daredevil that appeared in both of their respective titles was pretty cool. But, IMO the greatest series ever......is the GI Joe comic from Marvel 1-155, along with the Special Missons title. The story line that tied together many of the characters dating back to Vietnam, was amazing. The basis for vendetta was a large part of the entire theme. BTW, please don't waste any energy with any of the Darkhorse garbage. The later Image GIJoe books are incredible though. greta vids, thanks for reminding me of the joy I used to get from reading comics.

    +Michael Brown For sure I'll get into some Image books, definitely know and have Cyber Force and a few of the other titles. As for GI Joe, I never picked it up but someone else recommended it to me as well and I did some reading up on the title and it sounds awesome, especially issue 21, the Silent Issue, so I am keeping my eyes open and hoping to get a nice run of the books. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Punisher I will most definitely be getting into, especially Punisher. Love the universe, and as you mentioned, the two part cross-over with Daredevil was brilliant. Some of the best fight scenes in comics. I disagree with you on Dark Horse though. they put out some amazing books. Star Wars Dark Empire, Grendel, Sin City, Predator and Alien books, Concrete, Madman, and the list goes on and on and on. I'll do some readings of these books in future sets and you can be the judge :)

    +chycho About the Darkhorse, I was speaking of GI joe only. I'm a purest when it comes to GI Joe. The artwork in the DH comic was pretty good but the GIJoe Extreme concept was terrible IMO.

    I really enjoyed it! Very relaxing. But it brought a question: out of curiosity, you never had any copyright issues reading and showing a complete issue? Great job overall on your channel, definitely gained a subscriber! :)

  • @chycho

    @chycho

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Fringe Channel welcome to my channel :) As for copyright issues, it would be crazy as far as I see it if I got any. I consider these readings to be reviews and recommendations, promotions really, a teaser of sorts. You also have to consider that most of these characters have thousands of issues with countless stories. What I'm reviewing/showing is probably equivalent to be a few seconds of a 2 to 3 hour movie. Not sure how else to put it. If I ever get any copyright claims, i would stop reviewing any books from that publisher and stick with the ones that like what I'm doing. Keep in mind that there are also tens of thousands of books that are part of the public domain and I probably have a few hundred of them in my collection that are full of amazing reads, so I would just stick with those. That said, I hope I never get a claim against me because I really like doing this and I love many of the characters that I read.
