Augustus is absolutely incredible. If you want to know what happens "next", I Claudius by Robert Graves basically picks up in the later portion of Augustus' reign and continues the political intrigue from there. I didnt like it as much, but it was still good.

Concur with this. It also follows a more traditional format.

I would definitely be interested in learning more! It might pale in comparison but hey, all books about history can’t be written by John Williams 😜

Yasssss! I was last! Im sorry i forgor to send you a clip!! 😭😭😭 Im so glad you liked it! Most people who arent super familiar with the time period tend to bounce off of part one which i totally get, but i love parts 2 and 3. And Maecenas's letters were my favorite also!

Maecenas’s letters were fantastic! Some of my favourites as well! I also loved Julia’s parts and anything written from Augustus ☺️ they all have such unique perspectives

In Allen, we trust! Really happy to hear that this was such a hit for you, I am super intrigued by it. Epistolary tends to work suprisingly well for me, and I definitely want to learn more about this time period. Glad you ended this project on a high note 🤩

I’m laughing at the implication that Olivie Blake and John Williams are waging a war that you can only be on one side of 😂 though to be fair, I haven’t read any of her work yet, so maybe it’s true….? 🤔

I loved hearing your thoughts on Augustus!! Such a masterpiece. John Williams showed such a range in the three books he's known for, and I'm sad we don't have many more from him. Looking forward to hearing your Butcher's Crossing thoughts when you get to it! 🤍

Absolutely!! He is turning out to be one of those authors who I wish had written tons of novels that we could consume 🤍
