Your YA thought is sooo real how am I as a 26 year old supposed to enjoy reading about a 16 yo's romance lmao I seriously slumped during Peace Talks weekend and also only finished I think one book lol oh well Short horror is fun but it usually doesn't hit as well as a regular length novel for me I really wanted to love Ring Shout but I think the audio made it harder for me to enjoy too

Lmao for real. I can't know they are that young. So true with short horror. It just really needs to go there. Theres like one truly short story I can think of (literally like 10 pages) that the short format was perfect bc any other length would've been traumatizing and depressing 😅 I'll give ring shout another go, but im not confident in liking it.. and the average rating is so high!!!

Couldnt agree more with Powerless, too clique romance heavy and needed to stand on it's own without that comparison of HG. Lowkey was rooting for Kit even though i knew he was never the intended love interest. I'm gonna need some of those mannequin suspense recs!

It was weird to me that there wasn't even any tension between kit and kai?? It could've been so much more interesting and felt purposeful but instead it amounted to nothing. I have only consumed mannequin horror in movies so far lol. The movie maniac is WILD. I need to find some books that use it. I hope night of the mannequins does but I have no idea honestly. Hoping to get to it soon since clearly I didn't when I planned to 😂

I read Goddess of Filth when I started to get back into horror, and I think it did shock me with how gross it got 😂 I feel bad I didn't get a ton of reading done during peace talks! 🫣 🍄🍄🍄🍄
