Definitely wear sunscreen even if Mel doesn't. One bad sunburn increases your chance of skin cancer pretty dramatically and even low level sun constant exposure without adequate protection increases your chance of skin cancer which is not something you want to mess with. Plus sunscreen helps keep your skin tone even by protecting against sunspots and sun damage that leads to different skin tones across your face.

My mom works in dermatology and says all you really need is a cleanser and sunscreen for the day and cleanser and moisturizer for the night. You can get fancy and use a retinoid or retinoid alternative at night but not necessary

I've went through a similar thing with my skin too. For me everything I put on my face was causing me to break out, so now my skincare routine like yours is a cleanser, cleansing oil and moisturizer.

I dont use SPF either (on my face at least) because my skin HATES it! I stay away from the sun as much as possible and if I'm outdoors or at the beach etc I will put it on my body, but 2 days in my skin will begin to react real badly to it. It's a bloody curse, I tell you. Thought I was alone in this, but I guess it does happen. I use the heimish balm and the same YFTP cleanser lol, how serendipitous 😊 On a different note, I am sorry to hear about your uncle, I wish him a speedy recovery and send you and the family good vibes. Mucho ánimo! ❤
