Alex you are like fine wine! You get more beautiful every year! It’s so surreal seeing Cassidy on camera, I know this sounds crazy but in a big way she restores my faith. I prayed and prayed for your family and when she was born I was reminded of God’s faithfulness. It makes my heart happy every time I see her, a walking/living/breathing answer to so many prayers. 🥰

Thanks Alex love this. I’m 56 have PCOS and endometriosis. Was told I would never fall pregnant. I had a injection of Depo provera to stop my period due to pain. Hadn’t had a period for 3 years and fell pregnant aged 30. All my Drs And gynaecologists were shocked. Totally a miracle pregnancy. Had horrific pregnancy but delivered a healthy girl who is now 25. I have never understood how to check to see if you ovulate. Thankyou so much for this so educational and so well demonstrated. Can’t wait to see your journey of baby no 4. Loads and loads of love leisa Western Australia xx

Thanks so much for the info! I would LOVE if this was a recurring monthly video just so we can see different real-life scenarios. My hormone imbalances have caused our infertility and doctors have told me that I have false LH surges and that I ovulate inconsistently. So I’ve stayed away from ovulation tests. But after 2.5 years of trying we finally conceived and had our first boy and that was a year ago. I KNOW I ovulate SOMETIMES so it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and track that LH surge to catch that one cycle that in fact does release an egg. This video was so encouraging and the old clip reminded me of the beginning of our infertility story. So glad you’re here to support this community! 🥰

I bought the ClearBlue ovulation kit for this cycle because I had a hunch that I ovulate later than my calendar predicts. I was floored when I read the instructions about how the line had to be darker than the control! It was so interesting to me. Day of surge I tested twice, morning was negative, afternoon was a super dark positive. I was soo stoked that I caught it.

Not here to get pregnant but I stopped taking my birth control a few weeks ago. I was under the impression I was ovulating when i stopped taking the pills for that week before I got my period but after learning about my cycle and planning to track it naturally I found out I was very wrong…. I was on the pill for about 7 years I believe. I’m 23 now, I felt like the pills were starting to effect my body so me and my boyfriend agreed I should stop. I had to re-educate myself on how a cycle works and I’ve been taking ovulation stick tests regularly. I’m about 3 weeks in now and I got a positive text yesterday !! So excited that my body is doing what it’s supposed to and this video helped me SO much. Thank you 💗

Hi Alex, thanks so much for the video! I know the target audience is for those who are trying to conceive, but this was great for me, as someone who is tracking ovulation to prevent pregnancy. Looking at these tests over and over again everyday, sometimes it definitely feels like your eyes are playing tricks on you so it was very reassuring to hear you say that if it's allllmooossttt there, that that is 100% not positive.

My husband and I once used ovulation tests to help prevent pregnancy(using protection when getting to ovulating time), so I tested 4 day's prior to when I was supposed to ovulate and I couldn't even see the second line and so we didn't used protection. The next morning I went to throw out the test and for kicks I held it under the sun light and I noticed an of white line. A week later I had gained a hole kilo already and I found out I was pregnant that month. We now have our second daughter to show for it. Sadly I know alot of people have a hard time getting pregnant, some of my cousin's among them, so I count myself very fortunate to be able to get pregnant that easy, sadly I have gone through many early miscarriages and that was hard as well. Best wishes to all trying to get pregnant.

Story time 🥴 I was convinced I was pregnant after trying for years. Took a test, was positive started crying and freaking out then called my best friend whilst still in the bathroom freaking out. I had a digital but decided to take it the next morning. Spent the entire night freaking out and was so excited! Next morning I filmed the digital to be able to show my friends and family. And it was negative. I was so confused. Then went back and realised I took a ovulation test 🤦🏼‍♀️ that was a year ago. Still trying and on the waitlist for IVF through government funding and hopefully will start the process in 6-8months 🤞 I can't wait!

I know they don’t recommend fmu with LH tests but I learnt if I didn’t personally I was always missing my peak, to the point I thought I wasn’t ovulating for a good six months. I pee during the night so believe my pee isn’t as concentrated compared to say sleeping through the night. I test 4 to 5 hours apart during my fertile window twice a day. I do my bbt as well which helps confirm ovulation a few days after. Super cool informative video ✨

I'm not trying to be a shill but there are a few apps that help to read your test strips. You upload a pic and it analyzes the lines and gives you a prediction. It worked for us, but we weren't having infertility issues beyond my age (42) and breastfeeding. The one I used had a built-in timer, kept a photo timeline of the tests and has a pregnancy mode to follow along weekly your baby's development and keep notes from Dr visits. It's also helping me track my weight, steps, water intake and supplements. I can pay to get other features unlocked but, eh, don't really need them.

I was obsessed with ovulation tests but never had a positive. I turned out to have pcos and my body broke down the eggs (my body makes more) because it protects me for getting quadrupleds or even more by nature. it actually hurt me to hear you say to keep testing because it definitely will be positive and it's a double search because sometimes it just isn't possible to have a positive. I love your channel and follow you for a few years already but although this video can be very helpful for a lot of people, I wanted to point it out for those with the same fertility problems as we have (my husband and I) for 10 years already. We do have a son, Aiden Davy and his names mean 'Fiercely beloved one', but we received him after hormone shots and IUI.

Just going to say that I only have a very short window to catch my peak, mine only lasts a few hours so I have to test a few days before my usual peak and then as I see it getting even slightly darker I have to keep testing or I could easily miss it, I’ve had just 2 tests within 6 hours be positives then goes again. That’s my peak. Very short and I’ll ovulate less than 24 hours after xx

Its a very long process to BBT, then finding the right doc to take tests etc. She works 3rd shift so she does take a test at 7:30 pm when she gets up to get ready for work and then again after work. She always has darker lines at night. You said take it at 10 and 2. She is sleeping, so that doesnt work for her.

I’ve been testing my ovulation relatively correctly, but not entirely😂 and I completely thought the pillows under the hips thing was a myth so definitely helpful info to have, thank you. 💗💙 Edited to add: Thank you so much for your words of encouragement & advice, and yes, personally I would Love another video like this next month!!

Oh Britni I’m so sorry. Yes! I hope your next positive pregnancy test is right around the corner!! Pillows is more a 🤷🏼‍♀️ well…not gunna hurt 🤪. The strong swimmers are at the front and should shoot right up in there. Pillows maybe help the stragglers from falling out 😂

Also if you're something like KY lube , that can hinder swimmers so go natural or coconut oil

Well the pillow is indeed a myth so don't believe it just because Alex said it but she is right it can't hurt either. to me/us though it didn't help at ALL for our relationship and the stress we already experienced in our fertility journey so it helped me to keep s*x also intimate and romantic besides something that needed to be done to get pregnant because after 'the deed' shove a pillow under isn't very romantic at all

Hey Alex :) so when the ovulation test drops from the second peak as shown in the video, does that mean that's when the egg is released? Or ovulation is actually finished when the positive is gone? Thanks :)

Have you ever tried fertility awareness method to track your ovulation based on basal body temperature and cervical fluid? I know this has been a long road, and you’ve tried so much. Just curious if you’ve ever tracked that way. Fully aware that IVF has been effective for your family. Just neat to track ovulation and cycle based on the body’s natural symptoms/signs.

4:26 and 14:30 you still need to check if you actually did ovulate, especially if you have PCOS like me. Women with PCOS can have multiple surges per cycle and never actually release an egg. I use Tempdrop (a wearable thermometer that gets the most accurate BBT, especially if your schedule is wonky, and the only accurate BBT for those of us with PCOS) and that shift helps me confirm, though when I'm actively TTC I get my progesterone checked after I think I've ovulated. (I call in to my doctor and say that I think I ovulated and want to confirm and they send in an order for a blood draw. Sometimes they ask me if it's day 14, but I don't ovulate then; I know my body and it's usually day 20- or 30-something. I just tell them I have PCOS and normal numbers don't apply and they're good with it. Maybe they check with my doctor who has more detailed notes from me, but I don't know.) If the progesterone bloodwork number is high, I did ovulate. 5:30 if you know you have a problem, don't wait the "prescribed" amount of time. Just get the problem addressed. Do keep track of things enough so your doctor has good info to work with, though. If you think things are normal and just need time, then sure, wait, but still keep track so they have info. 11:06, 11:57, 20:05 thank you for pointing out that the test line needs to be darker than the control. So many don't realize this and stop testing or get their dates wrong because of it, and miss opportunities to conceive. Also goes to show just how unhelpful the smiley face ones can be. They just don't give you enough information. 14:30 I feel like every other day is a good average, but obviously might need to be tweaked in certain situations. Too much and there might not be enough sperm, too infrequent and they get clogged.

with our first 5 we had no issues. with our 6th we had 2 chemical pregnancies before we got pregnant with our now 8 day old. it took 5 months for her to be conceived. I ended up getting induced at 38 weeks for high blood pressure that scared the doctors but my labs all said negative pre eclampsia.

My daughter-in-law goes tomorrow to do an egg retrieval. They have two eggs but doctor wants to do more for backup. And what I hope to get out of this is her side of it and not my sons. I think if we know what she goes to then maybe we can understand it better. What scares me I think is her miscarrying again oh, she has already lost a baby a few months ago and it breaks my heart to see her so sad, so thank you for the video I'm learning🍼👶🤰

I've noticed for me that testing twice a day is useless because no matter what, whether I get a surge or not, my evening test strips are ALWAYS negative, even if I got a surge at noon that same day. So, I only take one test a day, always at noon.

question - you said to check around 10am/2pm but you were testing at night??? I notice that for me personally, around 5-7pm is when I saw the surges but I only did this twice before so I'm not sure if I'm wrong

Great helpful video! I’ve never had a problem with fertility, but I’ve always conceived boys and am wondering if (if the theory is even true) via using ovulation tests I could try to conceive for a girl by doing the deed a few days before ovulation... so all and all I love these videos. Do more 🎉🤗

When I was trying to get pregnant, the OvuQuick cost $50. It was a complete waste of money. I only had 3 or 4 periods per year because I was an undiagnosed hypothyroid. I was on clomid and a few others, and barely ovulated.

My daughters OB put her on the pill for 2 months, said women are the most fertile after coming off. She has tried 6 cycles on clomid, she only ovulated the first cycle, the rest she did not. Finally found a OB that gave her letrozole so she has been waiting for her cycle to start since stopping the pill which today is CD 39. No period yet. Her body gears up but doesnt ovulate. So I think her body keeps trying and trying. She is just waiting for her next period to start so she can finally try the letrozole. She is 27. She has only ovulated 3 times since tracking and trying (clomid) etc. She is so frustrated.
