Tim Minchin comes from Perth where I live.. that’s why it’s white wine .. in the sun..it’s a bit of Australian institution. His dad was my tutor in medical school.. he is a surgeon.. Tim is extremely gifted! Super intelligent.. and followed his calling!!

Australia is in the southern hemisphere, so the seasons are opposite of those in North America and Europe; they have snowy summers and warm winters. So their Christmas season is sunny.

@@fletcherb4728 ...isn't that what I said? I said that when it's winter in the northern hemisphere, it's summer in the south. Why is that wrong? Or did I just phrase it wrong?

@@TrackpadProductions "they have snowy Summers and warm winters" is the part that is phrased wrong. It implies winter is hot and summer is cold in Southern Hemisphere or specifically Australia.

Leave it to an atheist to teach the importance of christmas to an atheist like me. I never cared much for christmas because of all that religion connotations behind it. Now I remember all those christmas I spend with my dad before he passed away and I can appreciate what it really means to my mom to have me and the rest of the family there celebrating, not the birth of jesus, but being a family. So yeah, I cry every time I listen to it, and I listen to it everytime I need a reminder that I have a heart that loves my family and misses my dad. The kind of things that you never forget but at the same time you need to be reminded of every once in a while.

As a father to a most gorgeous and beautiful-hearted 5 year old girl, it gets me every time to think of her growing up and one day being out there on her own without me there to make her laugh and see her amazing smile. But as long as she knows I’m always here for her whenever she needs. Great song, Tim.

But I have to make an exception with Tim. I think because as different as some of our views may be, he writes so damn much of what I believe. It's like he's using "the force". I've been making a living with music for thirty five years. I appreciate greatness. It's rare. Tim is special. I'll leave it at that. - Cheers.

@@ebenclukey7293 It could also be that Tim very openly says he would never stop someone from believing what they want, he's just open with what he believes himself. He's very accepting and that encourages people even if he's saying stuff they disagree with to listen with an open mind and take it the way it's intended.
