Actually the song was written by the Warren and Beavers brothers, not Toby Keith. The Warren brothers are in the video. Not sure about the Beaver bros because I don't know what they look like LOL

The Matthews Fam, that's a great story but completely untrue. Although he writes almost all of his songs, this one is an exception. It was written by two sets of brothers that are prolific songwriters in Nashville. The Beaver and Warren Brothers specifically. They are in the video. The Warren Brothers are cousins of good friends of mine.

I’ve been a huge fan of Toby for a long time. I’m a fellow Okie! I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2004 and Toby and Ted Nugent were there doing USO concerts. They were supposed to just do a meet at greet with my unit in Kabul and a big show in Bagram. When he go to Camp Phoenix and saw that the 45th Inf BDE from Oklahoma was the unit stationed there he cancelled the show at Bagram and he and Uncle Teddy did a small show for us on the back of a flatbed with one mike and two guitars. It was awesome and after they finished they stayed out their signing autographs til EVERYONE got one without complaint until 3 am. For that he and Uncle Teddy will always get my love. BOOOOOOOOOMER!

I'm an Okie in exile down in north Florida, Toby used to headline at one of the OKC country bars every weekend while I was at OU. He blew up around then, it was weird for him to be so famous all of a sudden, lol. Good to hear he hasn't forgotten where he came from and sounds like y'all got some much deserved relaxation. Thank you OG. I actually saw him for the first time when I was 17 and he was the opener for Sawyer Brown and Rick Trevino. It was at the Mabee Center in Tulsa right after Should’ve been a cowboy came out. I think the club he played was called Cowboys or something like that. It was up in OKC. I was at OU in 95-98. It was the worst streak of OU football history. I was in the Pride in 96. Take care down there gator land.

When this song came out sales of red Solo cups absolutely soared. Toby Keith has a tequila company and it was flowing freely at this video shoot. Everybody there was truly loaded, from what I hear.

Best part of a red solo cup it legit has the Mark's on it for a shot a glass of wine or a beer... they knew what they were doing when they made them lol

Bottom line is at 1.5 oz, The second line up is at 5 oz, and the top line is at 12 oz. These wonderful little lines make it the perfect receptacle for parties of any kind.

My sister's exchange student from Norway was shocked to find out Solo cups were real. He thought they were just something in Hollywood movies. He shipped an entire case home!! Sis wasn't pleased when I showed him the first line equaled a shot!😉

The reason Red Solo Cup became so popular: The lines that wrap around the different sections of Red Solo cups are allegedly measurements. If you're ever in Oklahoma City, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill is right off I-40 on the east side of town.

Red Solo cups have always been a thing! I remember we always had them at family reunions when I was a kid in the 70's!

Toby Keith played at this huge bar in Gwinnett County where my daughter was bartending. Yes Mr. Keith gets quite inebriated at his shows, so much so, that at the end of the night he gave my daughter his famous hat, she was thrilled. The next night while she was working these men came in and told her Mr. Keith respectfully asked for his favorite hat back, he didn't like to perform without it. She gave it back but was still thrilled none the less

I am in my 40s now, but I miss the days when I could party, and not pay for days. Back in 1993 yes, but now, no damn way!

WTB: During that tour ALL drinks in my town at that concert were in RED SOLOS.

This is how big the song was.....I was overseas in a remote area with no radio or anything when it came out and hit the airwaves. I was back in 2012 and went to a family reunion and every so often someone, this uncle....that aunt....random cousin... would sing "red solo cup.......let's have a party!!!" So being the genius that I am I was noticing something going on. Finally my cousin said something about a red solo cup and laughed....I asked "what are y'all talkin' about this red Solo cup thing?" When she learned I hadn't heard the song she made an announcement to the ENTIRE family reunion and they immediately pulled it up and played it with about 90% of the people at the reunion singing it to me. It was hilarious!! The only ones that didn't sing it were the elders in their 80's and up, but they were as amused as I was.

Toby did a concert right outside of Pittsburgh, PA in my area. Me wife and buddies stopped at bar on way home that was close to the concert. Toby and some crew ended up at the bar! He paid them to lock the doors and everybody already in there drinks were paid for all night. Was fucking awesome.

Funny trivia. This song 'won' worst country song to become a big hit in 2019 from a poll from 'The Boot' a country music chart. The guys in the background playing & singing wrote the song & Toby said he died laughing & said it was the stupidest song, he'd ever heard & told them he wanted them performing too, so it sounded like it did when he heard it.
