That was literally the dumbest Vidbir ever since. Ziferblat were my pick, as well as judges' pick, but there were few nuances: 1) It wasn't live, it was shot the day before. Those who actually were watching performances live say, that each entry significantly differs from what was uploaded on youtube (at least audio engineers get well paid, I guess). 2) Jerry Heil (the winner) performance was a disaster, you might've noticed, there were some technical issues - she took of her left earphone at the beginning of the song, so people in there were literally listening back-vocals instead of Jerry's parts, in other words - Jerry is actually became the back-vocals herself, I find it kinda funny tho. Again, God save the Audio Engineers. 3) I remember after Vidbir 2023 Dmytro Shurov, the head producer of this event said: "Artists ARE NOT ALLOWED to change/restructure anything in their performances, everything should be as it was presented before the finals". Spoiler: Jerry Heil did change a little piece at the end of the song (as she did it last year as well). We know how it works, human mind likes brand new things, while 10 artists sing the song everyone heard a thousand times before - it adds nothing, and 11th artist adds something new - it creates "~WOW!~" effect, and people are forced to like it more. I know you're already tired of reading this, I'm also tired of writing this, but we keep going. 4) Cameras motions. If you're going to do more videos on Vidbir entries, just take a more delicate look on cameras motions, and then compare how are great cameras in Jerrys performance, and how rediculous they're with other artists. 5) I hate the internet and social media nowadays. The week before the finals you could see Jerry Heil and Mama Teresa literally everywhere, every youtube blogger collaborated with them, every tv broadcast, every radio, every f***ing billboard and big screens on buildings said "YOU MUST vote for number 6". I was walking through a supermarket, rummaging in one of those fridge containers, where all the frozen products usually are, I lift my head, and 10 inch from my face a screen says "YOU MUST VOTE FOR JERRY HEIL". It's just abnormal, how much money and time they have spent on all this. - As the result, the voting system was integrated in the ukrainian app called "Diya", Over 80% of ukrainians have it installed, even those who don't give a f about Vidbir. So my conjectures are, that a high % of people who voted for them didn't even know about existence of other artists, they just got a popup in "Diya" and blind-voted it. I could get this comment rolling on and on, but those are my main thoughts on Badbir 2O24. P.S.2 The winner song just sucks in every way possible, the rap part is a joke.

Hi! If there are any other songs ESC2024-related (for now, including national qualifiers - Vidbir) that you want me to react to, feel free to give me a link to them (preferably from that same channel as that appears to have performances, not just songs)! 1) Which one was shown on TV? 2) I do remember an earphone falling out, I'll trust you it was in that performance (I simply dont remember at the moment) 3) What does it mean "before the finals" - like for the jury? Because it would make sense to improve stuff between semifinal and final... 4) In part answered in (1), but will keep in mind :) 5) Would not surprise me. About the rap part - as I say in that reaction, I am not a fan of rap in general, the fact that I don't understand what that rap is about does not help at all.

@@DeathLV123 Hi, here we go again xD 1) Which one was shown on TV? - The finals were scheduled for Feb. 3, but for security reasons they've decided to record the whole show ahead on Feb 2, and then put already recorded performances on live stream via TV & youtube. So answering your question - all entries were shown on TV, but they weren't actually "in-real-time" performances, as they had recorded them a day before the premiere. My point was - there was a 24hours-room for audio engineers to fix/tune some performances. (Due to current situation in Ukraine it is highly advised not to gather masses of people in one place and disclose its location). 3) What does it mean "before the finals"? - 4 weeks before the finals all 11 songs were released to the public, so people could check it out, and at that moment artists shouldn't change anything in their songs (structure, words, styling, etc), and perform it in the finals as they had released it 4 weeks earlier. So there is no such thing as semifinals: event producers choose 11 (out of 400+) songs, then they present them to the public, and then it is already the finals. Here my point was - Jerry (the winner) cheated a little, added this opera-like voice element at the end of the song, but there was no such thing in song release 4 weeks earlier. - About the rap part - it doesn't help me either, although I understand it, matter of fact it makes everything worse haha. - There was actually a great, epic performance from one of the finalists, I liked it a lot, it has some kinda dark-shamanic folkish vibes, which reminds me of good times somehow idk. It would be great to see an honest reaction from you, because what I like in your videos in the first place is honesty. But keep in mind it is also in Ukrainian. link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hWaisKOcn6iWmNI.html P.S. I rarely write/communicate in English, so for me it takes a "long-way" to get to my point, sorry, can't help it haha.

Here we keep going xD 1) About the timing - understandable, my point was more if the version shown to public differed to one live, but yeah, it is a bit better if they were the same. 3) I see. I personally don't see it as a bad thing if something was changed between stages (at minimum in terms of presentation, if not in terms of song itself), but since you have only one stage - the finals - yea, that's different, I agree. Alright, I'll add it to the list, probably will be up in 1-2 weeks. I enjoy the, as I called it in one of my reactions, druid-ish Ukrainian (Go_A-Shum kind) and French (last year) entries. No problem, English is third language for me as well. :)
