Rapists and mentally ill people are coming across the border. WTH are you talking about Glenn Loury? Are you guilty of that which you criticize DJT for? Trump has for a long time, if not always, been a speaker who the listeners had to infer a bit of additional meaning in his words. If you are a thinking person entering the "arena" of discussion with sincerity, it isn't that difficult to do so. If you ave TDS, like McWhorter, you of course don't that often.

People like John were given a software patch that allows them limited ability to believe their own eyes for a limited time. Here’s an example…when discussing abortion, Trump said “They will take the life of a child even after birth.” Abortion does not involve ending the life of a born baby…it ends a pregnancy before a baby is born, so Trump’s claim is an objective lie.

The quote reads: "If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother."

Trump actually tells more truth than people realize just look them up. Pennsylvania Democratic senator I believe, she had a proposal/bill/law for abortion all the way till birth and after. You can find the Senate hearing, many Dem leaders supported this and agreed with it. Border patrol supported endorsed Trump not Biden. They posted on X before the debate was over that they didn't endorse Biden. I've heard many people say Trump lies, but no one has said what exactly was the lie. TRUMP 2024 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 please post any lies from Trump during the debate. I can tell you several Biden did, and some made no sense. 😂😂😂😂😂

Maybe John did…wait until the full episode is up. But even if he didn’t, Glenn watched the debate and is aware of the lies that John is referring to, so why would they need to spend time doing a deep dive into the specifics of said lies when that’s not the focus of the conversation?

I believe John mentioned Trump lying about (or at least not offering any tangible evidence to support his claim) other countries sending their mentally ill people to the U.S., as if that's some sort of specific/intentionally government initiative of these countries. Regardless, are people not capable of doing their own due diligence to find examples of Trump's lies? And let's be honest...even if John and Glenn and/or others gave a detailed account of every lie Trump told, it would be in vein. It's not like that would change the mind of anybody who intends on voting for Trump (myself included), so why get triggered over folks not wasting their time doing a deep-dive analysis on Trump's lies?

he told some truths and he also told some harmful lies, one of which was that he won the election. On election night, while the votes were being counted, he said he won. It is not even plausible that he would have some inside knowledge on that. He also said he had “perfect” phone calls when if you listen to his call, it’s auite clear that he was trying to strong arm the secretary of state of just “find” him one more vote than he needed to win. Habitual liars are dangerous people because people who fall for the lies can be led to commit terrible actions.

I don’t think Trump tells truths or lies, he’s just making his point. The point is “i care about this thing, and this thing is important.” Hes performing. Border crossings ARE crazy right now, but trump was making the same hubbub in 2015 when they had only been falling for like 10 years.

@@blakereid5785 He was still right though: even with illegal border crossings not being as high as Obama's first term (though they were slowly creeping back up in Obama's second term), illegal border crossings were still several hundreds of thousands per year when the aim should be 0 (LEGAL border crossings are fine to a certain amount, but never illegal ones, no exception: even if they succesfully get across illegally, they should be kicked out once found). There will always be ways found such as by hiding in car compartments, but those methods are slow and not many people are willing to act as a mule for that. Hundreds of thousands though only happens when they can just walk/swim over the border unimpeded, which absolutely should be fixed.

Glenn, John: I've been asking, "whose been making these decisions for several years." Journalism has failed us.

A day or two after the debate I left a comment on one of their earlier Trump talks saying that, in order to maintain his credibility, John had to come on and acknowledge that if Trump’s intellectual capacity is insufficient for the presidency (that was JW’s claim to brush off accusations of simple TDS) then that is certainly true of Biden as well. And I have to give him, at least, partial credit on that. He is admitting here that Biden is unfit for the job. However, you’ll notice how casually he shrugs off that fact as compared to his seething animosity toward the idea of Trump as president, who John has unironically stated should be “un alived”. I suggested in my comment that real issue is that Trump is just deeply unacceptable on a personal level to a certain type of prim, fussy technocrat like John (and Sam Harris as another example). I think that point has now been proven beyond a doubt. There’s short clip of Jordan Peterson opining on this phenomenon titled “Why Trump Drives Liberal Elites Crazy.” It’s a good watch for some additional context to John’s state of mind.

Maybe you should look up the VIDEO of the former governor of Virginia when he explained the law about ‘making the baby comfortable’ after birth if the mother no longer wants the child, aka infanticide. Also, look up California law that have no limits and adds up to 28 days AFTER birth. Last one, the law US Congress ‘women’s healthcare law’ that passed in the house under Nancy speakership, also didn’t have a limit. And there are other states that passed state laws that do not have a limit. Name some more of what you/they call ‘lies’ because I’m sure there is an explanation that boils down you not knowing of it.

I was in the DC intelligence community during the last years of the Reagan Administration. I was in the room when some of my CIA colleagues acknowledged that they no longer took any issues needing Executive approval to the president, but to the vice-president because of Reagan's lack of mental cognizance. I wasn't behind such closed doors at any of the other agencies at the time, but I would expect they, too, had stopped taking matters to Reagan. In this case, we've already seen that Lloyd Austin didn't think it was necessary to let his immediate supervisor know he would be out of contact for several days. What other senior bureaucrats are also already leaving Biden out of the loop?

I don’t know. We’ve seen how senile he really is. Which means that someone else is running the country. If you get rid of the debate entirely you lower the bar even further. We’ll have candidates who will no longer need to think through, and clarify what their position is. We’ll be left with optics and maybe charisma while all the running the country will be done by aides and consultants. It’s already happening but I argue it would get even worse.

what is worse, some one who copies someone else’s text word for word and pretends he wrote it, or someone who claims he won an election on election night while the votes are still being counted, and then gets half the country believing (or deluding themselves) that he won. The aftermath of that is people marching to the capital and trying to take it over, on Jan 6? In addition to that, telling lies and having his people tell lies that put the lives of election workers in Jeopardy. Also, trying to steal the votes of everyone did not vote for him. And if you say that this did not happen, I will tell you that Fox News did not pay out over 3/4 of a billion dollars for nothing. That payment was made for deliberately telling lies. Oh, lastly, it’s been claimed that Trump had someone else take his college exams. I didn’t see that happen myself but I sure saw Trump lying about the election, as well as his “perfect” phone calls.

Reading some of the reactions to the surprise of these two gents’ of Biden’s mental status, my takeaway is that with John it’s a case of him living in a completely different world to the majority of us. A world where he doesn’t need to pay attention to things like the president’s mental capacities, just as long as he’s blue. With Glenn, I think there’s an element of theatre. He knew, but in certain company he has to play ‘the game’, which is understandable. John trotting out the constant lies narrative was disappointing if not expected. I used to rate him as an independent thinker, now he sounds like the rest of the msm. Specifics please, John otherwise I’ll accuse you of what you constantly accuse trump of: lying. Trump’s got a big mouth and he exaggerates but that’s not lying. Biden, on the other hand is all spin and deception. He beat Medicare? Wtf? And what he said about no troops dying when so many have was so insulting, it’s obvious that he doesn’t care. This has all been fascinating if a little frustrating at the same time. Am watching now just to see how much of his soul John is willing to sell before he can acknowledge that Biden’s un-votable.

To be clear - I am voting for RFK jr. However, on that quote about Trump saying "there were good people on both sides.." regarding the clash between racists and counter protesters - I've only within the past 2 weeks seen the footage of Trump's actual quote in which he DOES say "except for those people" (the racist group.). This story has been repeated for years and it appears to be INACCURATE. That is very frustrating to me, It's wrong to make misleading statements or lies about someone just because you don't like them. How could it take me YEARS to see the correct clip? I admit at the time I was full time in school - (9 classes) and did not see it play out in real time - but if this has been twisted for years (as it seems to have been) - that's WRONG. It also makes people not believe you (the media) in the future.

It's amazing that these guys act like it's something that happens before the debate. We have been dealing with this issue with Biden for 4 years and for John and Glen to pretend that this has not been going for 4 yrs is appalling to me.

I would say that the Democrats since 2016 have peddled one lie after another, manufactured scandals like the Steele Dossier, James Clapper and the intelligence community shaping the elections as in the 51 experts dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop just prior to the last debate 2020. Say what you want about election denialism, polls have shown that many votes would have changed their vote had the truth of the laptop not been suppressed. The DNC manipulated the primary process in 2020 to push an already declining Biden. Who the hell has been running the show the last two years. And the media peddled the lies and brutally attacked anyone who contests the narrative. Taken as a whole, this is the biggest political scandal of my lifetime (and I am 66.)

What lies did Trump tell? "one after another" Tell us the lies.

I'm not sure where you two have been, but you HAVEN'T been watching JoJo....'cause he's been like this for years, especially during the campaign in 2020, where they hid him away when they brought in the CV19. This is who he has been.

And that’s why he’s gotten so much done?! He has an incredible record, and it’s still building. More jobs. Low unemployment. New manufacturing plants in rural areas. New highways and bridges. Shored up veterans benefits. Declining inflation-.01% this month. Building NATO and stopping Putin. Are you aware of any of these things?

The whole truth is that Trump achieved 4.9% GDP growth prior to Wuhan Flu, and GDP has declined under Biden. 2. Inflation isn't 1% since Joe took office. The whole truth is it's 55% for gas and double digits for our other necessities. Biden caused inflation by flooding the economy with free money, and inflation is STILL going up. No cause for celebration. 3. NATO & stopping Putin? On the contrary, Biden started Putin. The whole truth is that Putin was stopped as long as Trump was president. As soon as Biden was elected, Putin attacked Ukraine. That's Biden s doing. Biden s weakness emboldens America's foes and worries our allies. And us.

@@liedersanger1 my grocery bill has doubled since Biden took office as has my car insurance and home owners insurance. My wages didn’t, I got a 5 and 2% raise. Give me some of whatever you’re smoking. I’m worse off than I’ve ever been things aren’t great for anyone I know. If it was so wonderful than his approval rating wouldn’t be in the gutter. Most people don’t follow politics they just know everything has gotten much more expensive relative to their income

How in the world, after the 2020 Biden basement campaign and the many times we've seen him spaced out and/or making non-sequitur remarks before trailing off ("Well...anyways.....") could people as intelligent and as current as Glenn and John have been surprised by his debate performance?

Reinstate smyth mundt act. Make it illegal for media to propagandize the American people would be a huge step in the right direction for solving much of this.

John never fails to disappoint. TDS is a real thing. My problem w Trump during the debate was that he felt the need to challenge Biden's 6 handicap claim. Total waste of time and totally absurd.

Exactly, the attitude of Jill to him afterwards, it was so telling. Like a child making his first steps.

So disappointed to know how surprised both were on Biden’s senility. They look down their noses at many of us yet we are more aware of the truth than these guys. If they don’t have the basic facts, why listen to their discussions? They should seriously ask themselves how they were so duped. They both need a serious wake up call to their own biases that prevent them from getting the facts in the first place.

Primaries haven't been the same since the early 70s. Nowadays they are more like a fencing match. Everybody is trying to score a "you're no John Kennedy" moment. I stopped watching the primaries and conventions long ago.

In about 4 spots below I present an AP link that factchecks the debate. This was in response to the complaint that McWhorter did not list the lies. For that matter, incidentally, neither did Loury.) It worries me greatly that people do not know the difference between truth and fact. A very quick google led me to this link. If you do care to know the truth, look up the information. It's readily available.

OMG! You think the average adult talks to a 17-year old the way Jill Biden talks to the PRESIDENT? I may talk to my SEVEN year-old granddaughter that way, but not her nine-year-old sister. No teenager of sound mind would willingly accept being spoken to like "Doctor Jill" did.

Trump also said, about illegal immigrants, "They're professional mountain climbers". It is obvious that what he means when he says "They are ..." is "Some of them are ..." People should pay attention.

Trump genuinely loves this country and that’s more than can be said about 90% of our politicians. He was a game show host who they loved until he wasn’t on there team. He’s got my vote.

John, you do not have Trump Derangement Syndrome, you articulate your issues with him with great reasons as to why you feel the way you do. Whereas I disagree with you, I respect your perspective. Just curious…..What do you consider to be an acceptable level of lying ?

I expect that people who teach at a university level have an understanding off hyperbole and nuance that at least meets what a reasonable and average person would understand, regardless of how you feel about a person.

That's the best our two parties can offer, apparently....
