It is tiiiiiiiime to make peeps aware of this one. Pretty slimy move to patent this when they were actively in talks with the OG designer. Always good to see you in another content creator’s comments sir 💪🏻
I own your Gym Pin with the Vendetta’s. I loooved both attachments. They have been a great addition to my Gym. I wrote back and forth with you Britton, both of you super cordial and attentive in your replies, and it SUCKS that a bigger company have done that to the 2 of you. It is UNFAIR!. I’ll never buy anything from PRX…. Not even a rubber band from those guys. Simply awful. 😡😡😡
Sorry to see that. I love your channel. I've built a few of your designs (bulldog pad, seal row bench). Most people don't know how expensive it is to patent a product.
This is very difficult. As a consumer, I loved the all in one solution presented by PRX, on the other, I get how difficult it is to patent something properly, not to mention the cost. This is a situation where going through the patent process first would have kept you in the conversation on the final design of their final product, but they really just Zuckerberged you, in a sense. Success here now is getting your stand alone product out the door that can be attached to any lever arm out there.
I literally just use a chain and carabiners to have my jammer arms be adjustable. Cost me like $10.

I've always thought PRx was overpriced for what they were selling. That said, I was REALLY surprised that Coop didn't mention Vendetta's arms when he reviewed the PRx arms recently. Vendetta was obviously getting ripped off. ... anyway, I remembered the comments on Coop over the past few years. His deletion of Vendetta's product was crazy, especially since I'd swear he had the dude who invented them on his channel way back when?!?
@JohnGalanek

Coop sold out, literally. It’s not coop anymore, its coopcorp making reviews.
I do see similarities between the two, PRX is dead to me. But, I own the very limited Rep Iso arms and the (In my opinion Superior to Rep) - Griffin 2.0 Jammers. I wanted the Vendettas but was always missing the ordering window. Looks to me like PRX needs to go back and better refine those a bit. Especially for that crazy price. Your Gympin version w/Vendettas clearly win the design aspect... I've got some good Jammer-handle ideas I'd like to share for a mere proto type pair in return.
True story: I was seriously considering pre-ordering the PRx Halo arms. But now that I know this, I will not be buying anything from them.
Even Titan’s working with people now on their ideas over swiping them, like the SquatMax. Pretty disappointing PRX isn’t.
I'd find a way to significantly improve on the halo design and use and patent that. Just to be petty 😊

This definitely gives me pause for buying any prx products. Surely you can defeat their patent with prior art. That might bring them to the table for royalties.
Hopefully Prx makes it right
Plus coop kinda dissed the gym pin version in the video
I have no intention of buying from PRx, $1,500 is stupid and that's after they were talked down from a higher price point. Read the comments from Coop's review and it's clear PRx missed the boat. They didn't even roll out with the pulley feature they showcased in an earlier video and that's what people who have cable systems were excited about. But this is an all in one set-up, there are no adapters or having to pick a specific set of arms to fit your rack model. Personally I see more in common with PRx and Crandall Fitness or Griffin 2.0 (and Crandall is half the price). I hear Vendetta is releasing their all-in-one converging/adjustable arms but I'm hoping they fix their production issues and can keep up with demand. Bulletproof is getting ready to release their new arms as well. I keep reading comments that REP is working on their ISO Arms 2.0 but I'll believe it when I see it, however if they can design something that complements their Ares 2.0 cable system then shut up and take my money. I still haven't found arms that check all the boxes. I like how Legend Fitness you can swivel their arms 180 degrees so they're out of the way but they only have a vertical plane of movement. Any arms with a trollley are a PITA to remove so you have to keep them on full time. But if you have a cable system then that can be PITA to deal with (which is why I liked that pulley option PRx featured).
Yeah bro, I’m rolling with vendetta and your gym pins. I’ve always considered prx to be lame.

I don’t know how to feel here. Patent is the secret sauce, so you can blame competition for winning the race. The sleeper product is Crandall fitness arms btw

@@KaizenDIYGym now’s your chance to come out with anti-PRX merch lol spreads awareness and makes you future patent money
I have to say I’m conflicted here. Genuine question- I remember seeing posts on the home gym FB group of Crandall Fitness lever arms that had settable start points (like the Vendettas) and angle of rotation (like the GymPins) but there wasn’t the same pushback then. Why is that? You also cite the BoS instance with the selectable starting angles. The Straydog GOAT is also similar. This isn’t meant as a defense of PRX’s actions here, but the inconsistency of community discussion / outrage when these things happen probably feeds into how ideas propagate throughout all the different brands. Totally empathize why you’d be pissed at PRX, especially given the previous interactions. That said, the industry is rife with cases where the home gym community isn’t consistent about when it gets up in arms and raising pitchforks about derivative design. Someone else commented about Sorinex Bulldog pads. Shouldn’t we similarly be pissed about the Bells of Steel Seal Row pad then? Or the Exponent Edge version? There’s more of those types of benches out there that simply slip my mind, but I don’t see how that instance is entirely different. The dynamics of small players vs big players is different, but the notion of derivative / stolen ideas feels the same to me at first blush.
@KaizenDIYGym
23 күн бұрын
I totally understand where you're coming from. I can't speak for the entire community but I can share my perspective. The Crandall Arms utilize an entirely different mechanism. Similar functionality but completely different engineering to get there. That doesn't bother me. Straydog did rip me off and then sent a photo telling me they were about to launch a product that I inspired (the alpha arms). We had some back and forth, they declined to work out a royalty deal. I was pissed and I did mention it on the socials. Eventually I just let it go. I am just a one man show and don't have the funds to fight this stuff in court. As for the bulldog pad and other similar equipment, that's not my fight. I made this video because it was pretty obvious what PRX did. In the video the guy says they incorporated what everyone else was doing aftermarket and patented it. It's not illegal, it's just sharky and the community has a right to know so they can use that information when choosing which companies to support.
The pricepoint for the Halo arms is way too high. Most people end up using jammer arms far less than they planned when they bought them, myself included. I bought a set of Titan Fitness X3 arms and will 100% buy the Vendetta adapter and the GymPin adapters to make them more functional. And all the while keep that extra $500-$600 in my pocket.
$1500? Guess we know where a portion of that is going (the overhead expense of patent attorneys to patent someone else's idea).

“Mr. Wonderful” is anything but that, I don’t want anything to do with any company that he’s got his hands into. PRX is done for me.
Can you make a claim for royalties from PRX even though they have the patent and you don't? Since you posted the initial idea publicly, surely there's a legal route for you to prove that you inspired the idea and make such a claim, especially given that you're a small enterprise and don't necessarily have the same financial capabilities patent-wise as a big company like PRX.
I would never buy anything from any company like PRX - I invest in companies equipment that create original ideas. Mr Wonderful wont give a penny to credit royalty to anyone. Really sad Prx had to copy then patent it right away, disgusting business.

@@KaizenDIYGym come on… stepping on the throat of others and stealing their design and claiming it as your own. I really lost a lot of respect from those guys. Keep up your work brotha! You know you are doing it right when your ideas are getting stolen.
Thats messed up. I'm sure its not malicious, business is business, but come on.
Kinda hard to claim PRX's lever arms are a rip-off when the Vendetta and Gympin products are add-on adapters for existing lever arms and the PRX Halos are a complete one-piece solution. I get being annoyed about it, but you didn't patent it and you didn't offer a complete lever-arm, so I'm not really sure what you were expecting to happen. It was only a matter of time before one of the big companies did this, and the PRX Halos are reasonably price competitive when considering getting something like the Rogue Trolley lever arms with both adapters. Again, I get the frustration, but this was going to happen without a patent and you had to expected it.

Totally. I’m posting a video today that responds to this type of “that’s just business” response in addition to other comments I’ve been getting. Stay tuned.

Conversely my jammer arms are a complete arm, share many of the features of the PRX product, and were the subject of a EUIPO design patent from 2019.
Hey Man, first thing you should've done back when you made them out of wood was get it patented. Whatever you had to do to ge a patent on your design, you really should've done it, before you told anyone, even your family members about them. PRX screwed you and don't care. This is the world we live in, everybody is out for themselves. Why in the world would you talk with companies before having a patent on your product. I don't use jammer arms but I do feel for you. This world is dog eat dog. Hard to keep your cool when someone has stolen serious money from you. I feel bad for you

No need to feel bad for me. I’m in a good spot. I understand this is just how it goes. What they did is not illegal. It’s just uncool. I have plenty of ideas and opportunities to turn them into equipment because of this one freebie. It was worth it.
PRX sucks and their products look like Amazon shit anyway.

Sorry this happened, clear ripoff. FWIW I just bought some Vendettas, I’ll never buy Prx
Dude, everyone knows that if you have a great product you should patent it. If it wasnt PRX who patent the idea, it would have been someone else down the line. You should really be mad at yourself for not patenting the idea when PRX TOLD you that you needed a patent. They even told you to patent it but you still didnt.

This shows extremely bad faith to the home gym community. I really hope people go to Vendetta or Gym pin instead of PRX.

Thats really shitty. Unfortunately you guys all should've patented the idea. Im still on your side knowing you guys didnt have the cash but when you have a brilliant idea Unfortunately thats the price you pay. Still fuck those guys!

Luckily I did patent mine, in a EUIPO design patent. So anything claim made that is shared with the GLS jammers features was disclosed in 2019, in that design patent.
As far as capitalism…I’ve spent money on gym pin home gym equipment (quite pleased with) and zero dollars on PRX. Money talks with action

@@KaizenDIYGym yeah I really prefer the smaller companies and KZreadrs. Overtime the “big dogs” become greatly influenced, corrupt by money…rather than actually cater to the average home gym owner crowd
