You should watch great sketch KMN "Tata ze wsi" - "Daddy from village", about dad visits his son who had moved to city. In this sketch in lots of funny differences in way of thinking between people who are living in village and cities.

Anglosasi nie zrozumieją bo ten skecz odnosi się za bardzo do polskiej kultury i realiów. Ale już "Nowa dziewczyna taty" jest tak uniwersalny , że może się stać hitem na całym świecie.

Skunks means skunk in English. The "badge" was a dog tag - the kind worn by soldiers to facilitate the identification of a body.

Biedronka and Lidl are diffrent companies. In time when this skit aired was huge scandal with Biedronka when journalist shown how employes are forced to work- carry more than humans are able to, not letting to go to toilet during work and so on. For long time Biedronka was symbol of mobbing.

If you really want to learn more about the Battle of Vienna, I recommend these two films: first is "The Battle of Vienna, 12 Sep, 1683 * Poland saves Europe from Islam * Polska ratuje Europę od Islamu" you can make one film with a reaction to both at the same time because it is actually one whole - the speech of the Polish priest gives additional meaning to this battle, so it cannot be missing and its in second one named "The Polish charge that saved Europe from Muslim c" hope u will do this :)

here's a funny thing... the guy is an accountant, right? "Accountant" is Polish slang for a weak fighter in sport. When someone, for example, keeps signing up for proffessional fights with people that are much lighter and smaller for easy profit, it's said that he's "Beating accountants for cash"

there's a polish movie that was just made. It's based on nobel priced novel by Władysław Reymont and it's more like artistic project than an actual movie because it was fully painted frame by frame and the whole effect is just really impressive. It's called "the peasants". It tells the story that is set in polish countryside in late 19th ceuntry and it's full of traditions. Seriously I recomend reacting to it, I think you would be intrested.
