Finally... someone who agrees with me on ADTR. The genre blending was somewhat novel at the time, the super fat guitar production briefly served as an interesting hook, but at its core both the hardcore and pop punk elements were average at best IMO. I still listen to 4 Year Strong fairly regularly, but for me ADTR had no staying power at all. Rather than good riff writing, it was all about chugging mediocre riffs with real fat tone. That only gets you so far in my world.

I'd love to compare my Top50 pop punk albums with you guys. I missed a lot of the early 2000s and did not like a lot from that time. I loved earlier and later albums more. That would be interesting. I would certainly have a LOT more non-US stuff. Did Loudwire have ANY (other than Millencolin)? Wow.

Hey guys, can I make a suggestion? I listen to these while I’m working, and I imagine others do as well. Could you annunciate the bands/albums? When you got the “How I Spent my Summer Vacation” I had no idea what album/band you were talking about. I know these are meant to be watched, but almost all of my media consumption is just listened to. I watch if I have a break or something, but typically I just listen to these and come back to comment later. Thanks! Keep up the good work

'Milo Goes to College' is THE quintessential pop punk album. This is the album that inspired so many bands to add melody and popback into punk. Yes, after Ramones, but this kickstarted west coast pop punk for sure.

Weak album. Only 3 songs over 2:45 on it. Any album loitered with short songs does not belong on a list. By the time you get into the song it is over. Shows a weak lyric writing ability.

  • @GamiGreen

Picking Duh over LTAF is absolute insanity, same with leche over more betterness. Slick Shoes are an S tier band guys, come on . That Acceptance album is really good but it's more alt rock than pop punk, it had a huge buzz when it came out in the emo/pop punk scene. Midtown being 12th is crazy, as good as that album is. No Nimrod is silly, that's by far Green Day's best album. Maybe more deep cuts but some l albums I would have in my top 50 that never get enough love: Relient K - Mmhmm, Bayside - S/T, The Ataris - Blue Skies...., Gatsbys American Dream - Volcano

Totally agree about "Milo Goes to College", is a punk rock/80's hardcore record, If you put that maybe you had to put Buzzcocks, Ramones or Generation X... By the way this top 50 list sucks a little.

Absolutely agree. I don’t like anything Blink ever did, and I love that style of music. If we’re talking radio pop punk, I far prefer Green Day or The Offspring or Unwritten Law. I’ve seen Blink three times during their heyday, I left during their set all three times. They just don’t do anything for me
