In case you didn't know, when Michaelangelo (the turtle) said "I can bebop a steady rock a mic sucka", he's referencing Bebop and Rocksteady, which are classic TMNT villains.

He was famous for movie Monk,kill Bill and range of other movies. He was married to actress Barbara Hersey(she was famous in the movie called Beaches) if you haven't seen it yet go check it out. But they found David during one of his umm well just read about it. All i know was that he died doing what lived doing(I miss him personally cause I used to practise alot of his moves doing karate) im a green belt in taewondo just so you know but yeah.. When he pronounces “genius” a little funny I think it’s a play on “genus,” the taxonomic category above species. Not only are the turtles unable to understand genius, but nobody has any clue what genus those freaky mutants even are. P.S. The turtles won in my book… but Raphael the artist was hilarious.

This would be a top 15 battle if the length was doubled.

just noticed it, but on Da Vinci's line "I like to keep it mellow, lemme pass it to my man Donatello" may be a reference to the personality of Da Vinci. The idea behind it is that while Da Vinci was very introspective to the world around him (i.e. creative and inspired a lot) he still used that and painting to make a living, so it's probably a reference to his desire to not get into trouble. The most evidence for any of that though is in the Assassins Creed II trilogy, where he actively is portrayed as staying out of trouble despite still having to swallow his pride and work for The Vatican even though he knows the Borgias are shit people.

I spent 2 weeks trying to jump turtles over a gap in a sewer on nintendo. I finally had to get my son to do it and save the game so I didn't have to go back to it. Lol. That game was hard as hell. It sucks that they barely gave TMNT any time on this. It mostly focused on the artists.

@@CasualGamerDude you could in the one I had for Nintendo if you had a memory card. I bought it for my kids not long after it came out in '89. They were both huge TMNT fans as kids.

@@toodlescae the nes didn't have memory cards... as someone who had gone to sleep many times with the system still on while the tv was off, trust me, i know. tmnt 2 and 3 did have a stage select if you put in the konami code.

I was literally just looking for you to have reacted to this! You're one of the few I have seen who get both the TMNT references and the artistic ones. No one seems to notice the artists sing "boot to the half-shell" to the melody of the old theme song, though.

This video was my favorite when I was little, love seeing you react to it

The accentuation of "Gene" in "genius" is a throwback to him calling them "mutants"

Just to give you a heads up, the first kickback loopstation battle between Robin and Frosty finished and they really upped the level and brought some surprises. I know Kickback doesn't do as well as GBB in terms of views, but at least in terms of people following it there's a lot of hype for this one. Though they won't announce winners until all the quarterfinal rounds are done. Anyways, just thought I'd keep you updated.

NES had two tremendously difficult turtle games. It had at least 3 games on the system but I never played the third

"Pristine Sistine nun chucker" was clever, referred to the Sistine chapel and chapels have nuns which he would chuck/throw around, but also a reference to the nunchaku weapon.

Of all ERB this one is my favorite. Both sides deliver great bars. And the music is so catchy.

regarding the "bone til i croak" line (ik I'm months late) I believe is a reference to him being rumored to have died of Syphilis?

Sorry I watched three vids before I subscribed. I am enjoying your channel bro... Genus comes before species in taxonomy. It is a grouping of species that have a common ancestor...hence you wouldn't know Genus if it pissed in your sewer...and the four artist were considered geniuses...so it's a cold bar.

They were supposed to be in The Secret of the Ooze (the second one with Vanilla Ice), but legal stuff prevented that so they substituted with Tokka and Razar. They finally did show up in the 2nd Michael Bay one, “Into the Shadows” ~_~

as others said, it was the first nes tmnt game what was hard as hell. 2 and 3 were great side-scroller beatem ups. 1 was a 2d platformer that required excellent button control. someone mentioned a hard jump. i know it. you had to tap the jump button just right to make it, cause if you jumped too high (IE just mash the button) you hit your head on the ceiling and fell to your death. alot of people talk about the underwater level. but that one just requires practice to get the swimming right. bit like learning to swing fast in a spiderman game. it was the inside of the technodrome that was the real impossibility. I could go through the entire game perfectly. no damage at all. then died completely to the first screen after you beat the technodrome itself, then go inside it. i was never able to beat the game without the game genie. and i even tried to beat it legit with the cheats on, but found it impossible to not get hit.

This was season 3 finale featuring the artists vs the ninja turtles

If you remember Da Vinci's helicopter was more of a big spiral canvas cloth wing. It would have never really been able to go fast enough. I don't know if you remember the Turtle's cartoons or comics but two of the bad guys hench men were Bebop and Rock Steady.

The NES games were really hard, but there was the computer version made for DOS on the computer that was literally unbeatable unless you cheated.

Oh my fucking god I never got the Sistine nunchucka . Sistine chapel. Nun chucker. That's such an amusing double I never noticed.

I played the Nintendo version of TMNT a hundred times and I've only ever gotten to Shredder. By the time I got to him I was so weak I was easily defeated.

The original TMNT NES game was very difficult to play, but fun. I didn't get that far into the game, but had a friend who played it endlessly and got pretty far.

It was the original Turtles game for the NES that couldn't be beat. The game for the SNES (game #4) was a well balanced side-scroller so well loved that they remade it in 2009 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

So it depends of which version of the TMNT game you're playing. The original was really hard to beat. Two ports (DOS and Amiga) of it on the other hand actually are impossible (without cheating or a glitch) as a mistake was made when porting it over. That's where the impossible bit comes from.

pleasant for one party but there are horror stories about being the other person. think Clive barker wrote one that *shudders* this is one of the battles that should of been 4 times longer. think he built a model but never tested but we do use a design based on his parachute design. never beat it but i did beat the effing Dam stage, only took me and my sister 3 years.

It was way too hard when I was a kid. Maybe I could beat it now as an adult but I do remember the underwater level was the hardest to beat. I think I wasn't fast enough cause was to scared to touch the sides and lose health so my time always ran out lol
