My feeling is that this is the prime timeline, but the timeline has always been flexible in multiple ways, like how Gabriel Bell never looked like Ben Sisko until he did, and how a famous Bajorean poet went missing leaving one of his major works unfinished and then he didn't and he finished the poem, but somehow nothing else changed as a result. Time's like a Weeble. You can push it over and it will wobble about for a bit, but eventually the universe will right itself.

This episode was interesting. I liked what they did with the revisit to this planet and the memories aspect of what makes up a person and their experiences. I do like the previous 3 episodes better but this was a good planet of the week type episode. They have been doing a good job of bringing in a human emotion aspect to each episode so I like that about the episode as well.

Really liked this one. I'm a fan of the Heart of Darkness trope though. The person that loses their mind in a situation like that is always interesting to me. Yeah, the line "your logic... feels sound to me" cracked me up too. Can't wait for the next one. See ya then.

I always enjoy hearing both your feelings on and your logical interpretations of these episodes. You are more forgiving than me when it comes to canon and "respecting" the TOS timeline, but I consider that one of your strengths and not a weakness. It tends to take me out of an episode and makes me wonder why or how something can happen. Like I mentioned before, there is no real need for the writers to cause this confusion. They could have the characters seek out new life and new adventures. I think the acting for the most part is pretty good. I like Pike and Spock but they are not portrayed quite right. Once again, Spock is written like a juvenile or a continual outcast. The plot of this episode was expected, and you predicted it during your commentary. But I have to keep in mind that you are smart, so it would be hard to stay ahead of you. I think this show appeals to many, and I do include myself in that category, but it's also disappointing in the sense of overall creative decisions and viewpoints. But, I will still watch because it at least speaks to me more than Discovery ever did. My final thought is on you and any hardships you may be facing. While I will not pretend to understand anything about them specifically, perhaps it's good to know that you have support from people that you don't even know. I am one of those people. Stay strong and prosper.

In regard to Pike’s and Spock’s acting, I think I can agree with Spock’s acting being a bit off from what we know of him in other Trek, but I’m still enjoying Ethan Peck’s portrayal. With Pike’s tho, I feel as tho we haven’t had much to base it off of if we’re just going off of Jeffrey Hunter’s portrayal (even if we’ve seen Kelvin Pike), so I think it makes it easier to accept Anson’s performance. Honestly, when I was rewatching The Cage, there were a couple times where I thought to myself, “I can see where Anson is getting some of his inspiration from.” I definitely hope they give us more “strange new worlds” exploration. I’d love to get to know new planets and people and more scientific study and discovery, so I hope we’ll get at least one episode if not more in the future. Also, thanks for the support!

@@spamsir Oh, I think one of the strengths of this series is that Peck and Mount are great actors and that I can see them in the roles. It's just the words that are written and the situations they are put in and how they deal with it is a bit off. I agree that Mount seems to be getting his vibe from The Cage, and I appreciate that. The discovery of new worlds, new science and the tech aspect of Star Trek appeals to me, and the allegories can, sometimes, come along with them, and I am fine with that. Sometimes it can lead to a comedic episode or a kick-ass episode or an emotional, drama-filled episode. We are sort of missing that variety, but then again we only have 10 episodes a season, so there is little time. With the next episode, we are only half way through the season, so let's see what's out there!
