    I’m trying so hard to finish this series for the ‘lore’ of it. I keep having to turn it off and on it’s so bad. Doesn’t get any better after/during season 2??

    Considering S31, it could be Prime or Mirror Universe. We know for sure it takes place in the "Lost Era" of Trek between Undiscovered Country and TNG. The chick with blue hair that calls Phillipa a bad bitch is Captain Rachel Garrett from the TNG episode Yesterday's Enterprise.

    The final few episodes here were quintessential Trek in my opinion. Literally finding a new lifeform and civilization - granted way, way more advanced than anything we've ever come across really. The only thing I didn't quite accept here - is that 10-C is so advanced they somehow can't tell a starship or carbon-based lifeform from elementary particles or whatever? But then create a space for them they'd "understand" here at the end. Also, another nitpick I'll mention when you post the finale next (though I'm sure you've watched it by now etc.) bugged me even more but it's related obviously.

    A bit of a tip: as a reactor, you need to be an entertainer, engaging, fun to watch, but it has to come across as genuine. You have to be an authentic reactor for people ro want to watch you. Also if something is spoiled, react as if it wasn’t.

    I like Discovery's version of the Mirror Universe The sinister Ships, Gold Unifroms, More Advanced Tech (which is logical considering they got 23rd century tech a century early), and AGONISERSSSS Thing that would have made it better: Purple Transporter Effect

    As much as I dislike Beltran as a person, I have to say that his performance as Chakotay is really moving in this series, particularly in this episode. Him finding the skeleton of his friend and first officer Adreek is heartbreaking and surprisingly dark for a kids show. "Adreek you did it! You were right all along" man the delivery of that line is powerful, his voice breaking up, filled with both a sense of grief and hope! The animators even went as far as depicting the ocular ring bones in Adreek's eye sockets, as an Earth bird would have. I guess because he is not human, they could push it just a bit more with his skeleton... This show is like the Avatar The Last Airbender of Star Trek, a show for the whole family from kids to adults, and is effective in each and every age group of its audience. Simply great Star Trek!

    This was such a perfect finale -- whether it ends up being for just the season (hopefully), or the series as a whole (hopefully not), it was just so well done. I spent most of ep 20 in tears the first time, and still choked up several times just watching your reaction again. I absolutely adored the way they tied back to the pilot episode; the nostalgia for the journey we've been on for 40 episodes was so bittersweet. The Crusher reunion; the tie-ins to the Utopia Planitia/Picard events... just expertly crafted. Genuinely hope we get more with this crew in the future. Thanks so much for bringing us along for the ride with you; you deserve to be getting seen by way more people! Have loved reliving the show with you. Live logs and proper! 🖖

    They have a strange relationship with Janeway because she is technically a stranger. And they aren't used to adults they can trust, they were all slaves, some of which were sold by their parents. They are used to anything slightly outside of the rules needing to be kept hidden.

    You are one of only 2 YT channels that I was able to find who are reacting to this show. Which is of course great for you, 😉but kind of a shame at the same time, because I think a lot of the reactors who watch Star Wars and Marvel related stuff would really dig this show if they just gave it a chance. I'm loving it so far, myself. (Now I just gotta catch up with my own viewing so I can watch this latest reaction of yours, haha.)

    I also play Star Trek Timelines. 😉 The version of Mirror Janeway in that game has more of a "pirate" vibe. They gave her an eye patch, which looks like it's more of a cybernetic red glowing eye, but attached like a pirate's eye patch would be.

    Yes, Prodigy takes place YEARS before Picard S1. Prodigy S1 was in 2383 I believe, and the Romulan sun went supernova in 2398 or 99 I believe, because in 2398 or 99 Spock and Nero go back through the black hole/wormhole and create the Kelvin timeline etc. etc. So, Picard S1 takes place around that time of 2386-99 give or take (since they knew the star was going to go supernova a few years before it happened hence the attempted evacuation). Prodigy takes place 12 years or so after Janeway and Voyager return to the Alpha Quadrant. There's a lot of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff here, but it all lines up actually if they are trying to connect all the various shows in this way.

  • @Ostermond
    @OstermondАй бұрын

    The Romulan Supernova wasn’t in 2398 - it happened in 2387. Picard S1 takes place in 2399, twelve years after the supernova. Prodigy Seasons 1 and 2 together take place (mostly) between 2383 and 2385.

  • @LordLOC
    @LordLOCАй бұрын

    @@Ostermond Well I did say multiple times in my OP "I believe" because it's been a while since I looked into the timing of events from some of these shows etc. lol not to mention if you play STO, there's even more stuff to consider as they seemingly add some of STO's story beats into canon here or there now.

  • @LordLOC

    Same way you catch a Time Lord (all the time). But Wes has "powers" so it's harder to explain away - I assume whatever they have him hooked up to, prevents him from using his powers etc.

    This reminded me of the Voyager episode “Shattered”. Every deck was in a different timeline (season) from Voyagers run. I’ve always shipped Chakoty\Janeway. Dude got stuck in the “friend zone” with lame dinners with Janeway. Glad to see he’s finally gonna shot his shot!

    They named dropped Parallels earlier in the season for why Gwyn is "phasing" etc. (and Parallels is one of my personal favorite episodes of TNG) and this episode was basically Parallels, minus the end with the quantum breakdown between realities etc. It was a fun episode, as most of these types of episodes wind up being. I mean, at this point nearly every major and minor character has been in STO and probably from the mirror universe lol but yes if I remember correctly mirror Janeway could control the Borg of that universe, or at least mostly since I think one of the chapters had them rebel against her and stuff.
