Good review. Chapel seems to be thirsting for Spock. If their starting this now , just 4 episodes in, I can see it getting physical.

Great review. This was a fun episode. I like that every week doesn't have to be deep and sad.

I rather enjoyed this episode, the humor wasn't broad or over the top, and in most cases fit the specific situations each group of characters were in. I did really enjoy the more nuanced acting from the actors who play Spock and T'Pring. Also appreciated that the differences between the two were more then just gender roles, but Spock being more expressive of emotion (At last fr Vulcans), while T'Pring is formal to a far larger degree, so seeing the actors get to play that difference and still fit their story was nice. On Spock's dream the producers admit that they did far more of a direct homage to how things were presented in TOS then normal. The fight and music is not updated much at all from what was done in the 60's. It might not work on an episode set on Vulcan by todays staging and acting standards, but since its a dream (or nightmare) you get far more legitimate leeway. TOS and TOS films have shields that conform to the hull but we never saw how close, well apparently a person could physical reach out and touch them so they are less then 2 meters away (and I do appreciate that the show uses that era shield style versus TNG, and its films and the shows of that era for the most part, shield bubble that is more of egg around the ship, and can be greatly expanded to cover more area (I enjoyed seeing that limit in last week's Gorn episode). 5 episodes in 5 episodes I thought were good to one that I thought was almost great. Very possibly the best start for a Trek series ever.

Hi. 1. The bingo win for them wasn't signing outside, as all the rest do according to the list, but doing this just in their uniform, without scaphandres, using the force field, and still staying alive. 2. The gum lost its taste, but the transporter restores the original characteristics of things, so it restored the gum. 3. This episode was the show try for a comedy, intensionally. 4. Actually, Una isn't "no fun", she just keeps it inside for the distance from the crew. As we remember, only Spok knows her fun side, when they were singing musical song. 5. The last scene, for me, looks like a preview to a big love story between Nurse Chapel and Ortega. I thing this is why we get in this episode the information about the Nurse Chapel's bisexuality earlier.

I took it as Nurse Capel thinking about Spock since her only character trait in TOS was she was crushing on Spock.
