Wee Meng Chee (Chinese: 黃明志; pinyin: Huáng Míng Zhì); (born 6 May 1983 in Muar, Johor) is a Malaysian Chinese hip hop recording artist, composer, filmmaker and actor. He is widely known by his stage name Namewee, a bilingual pun on his first name, which sounds like the Mandarin term for name (Chinese: 名字; pinyin: míngzi).
Wee gained popularity after releasing a controversial song titled Negarakuku, a remake of the national anthem of Malaysia, Negaraku. The word kuku resembles the male reproductive organ in Chinese Hokkien dialect. In the weeks following the song's release, it drew criticism from Malaysian society. Despite the controversy surrounding Negaraku, Wee released his first, self-titled album, 明志 Namewee, in Malaysia on 3 September 2007. The album was completed in May and does not contain Negarakuku.
In early 2010, he released his first film titled Nasi Lemak 2.0. Subsequently, he released Hantu Gangster and Kara King, which were released in 2012 and 2013 respectively. He also started a KZread web series, Namewee Tokok, on September 2012.
He wrote the song, 你不红 (English: You're Not Red) in 2015 which also drew a lot of attention on social media. Other notable songs, such as 泰國情哥 (English: Thai Love Song), 飆高音(English: High Pitched) and 漂向北方 (English: Stranger In the North) gained global attention. Currently, he has over 60 songs (Including musics removed from his KZread channel) that have over 1 million views each on KZread.
He was nominated for the 27th Golden Melody Award which is held on June 2016. In August 2016, he was arrested by police for filming a music video on the grounds of a mosque.

That is not pollution, it is a cloudy snowy winter day in a northern place. This is a common reality for people in countries all over the world, having to move away from the home you love,, to work, due to economic conditions or other reasons. Just to clarify, Namewee is from Malaysia, yes. However the images you saw in the song were from Beijing, China. This song was about him having to leave his home country and worked elsewhere which in this case was Beijing and the struggles he had to go through. The lyrics of the song depicted the struggles many of us had to go through especially as migrant workers. Which was why this song was very popular.

He was bully by govt officials for court fines money and treaten to jail him for some race sensitive issues. Not big deal about food thats all in the media. It seems Malays were sensitive. That is why he was force to go overseas alone.
