*REACTION* Extreme "Rise" Haven't heard 'em in 30 years, let's see what they got left in the tank!
This is my honest reaction video for "Rise" by Extreme. These guys are legends just from "More Than Words" Let's see if they have something left to say. I know Nuno is gonna bring the shred.......I hope anyways lol

That solo is absolutely Fire. I think Extreme is surprising everyone with this. Really good song.

they are..
It's the greatest solo I've heard in over 20 years....absolutely killer.....what breath of fresh air in a mediocre to trash music industry....true talent returns...and of course...Rock saves us again.....🎸🎸🤘🤘❤️🔥❤️🔥
Thank you for reacting to this. I absolutely LOVE this band. I have been playing guitar for 37 years. And, this solo impressed me to no end. This song is also way better than most other new rock songs that I've heard in years.

“ not bad “ ? Dude this is great. Big difference between Gary Cherone and Scott Weiland. Gary is Alive !! Also STP we’re never this rock/funk !!! Also STP never played a Solo. Much less a good one.

I'm curious near the end of the solo, did he use a delay???.
Best new song I’ve heard in years.
What a hell of a solo... love this! Porograffiti has been smashed
How does he do that? He's Nuno Fucking Bettencourt, that's how he does it! lol Nuno is a beast.
Its very cool watching people who arent familiar with Extreme (ASIDE from More Than Words) react to this song. Song is fantastic on every level for me. Things to know about Extreme though...they arent anything like Queensryche or STP. I dunno where anyone would get that, and no disrespect to the reactor, just nope. They do have a "progressive" element though in that, every album has been different, you never know what to expect from them, and their albums are always a musical/lyrical journey. I would suggest anyone diggin this to search out the albums AFTER Pornografitti (More than Words/Hole Hearted). Three Sides to every story, waiting for the punchline which I loved, and saudades de rock, which was their last studio album in 2008. Im glad they are back and they absolutely brought it!
Clearly the reviewer did not really know Extreme before this video. Nuno has been doing this for a very long time. Flight of the Bumble Bee people. Extreme is back!
That solo is putting the fire under me to pick up the guitar and get my chops back. You know its a good song when it inspires you. Nuno is the GOAT! Side note the only 2 guitar tab books I ever bought were in the 90s and was Ozzy Randy Tribute Album and Exteme’s 3 side to every story. 2 albums that got me hyped to play guitar.
A lot of this song is an homage. STP, definitely Eddie with Nunos solo. A little Dimebag in there and some queen and Brian May

If you listen to the tremolo picking part, Nuno had a phaser on it and he is getting that Eruption/Ice Cream Man sound. Most certainly a homage to EVH.
Nuno and Richie Kotzen are two guitarists still killing it in this day and age! Nuno is awesome! Check out Xanadu by The Winery Dogs next!

Hell yeah, Winery Dogs rock. My old dudes showing the kids that grandpa and grandma can still bring it. 🤟
sounds similar to Velver Revolver, but great!!
Chorus is a grower. 3-4 listens in it's pretty good. This is only their 6th Album. last album was 15 years ago and that was a comeback then lol.

Especially the outro chorus with the strings underneath building tension and momentum.

Yeah, I agree, it kind of reminds of Waiting for the Punchline album with more Nuno being Nuno.
I’ve listen to this song like 10 times now, and I love it even more each time 🤘🤘🤘
The chorus is a classic sneak up on you, you will never forget, and will always sing it stuck in your head type of hooks... it's actually well played by Extreme... even if you don't remember the verses for sure that chorus is stuck in your head 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 If you loved this solo, you should truly revisit III sides to every story, solos galore there as well.
thet´s the exact word for that solo-.......EPIC !!!!!!!
Gary Cherone is still on top of his game. Nuno never stopped after all these years. They are not athletes. Gary was not as active as Nuno to save his voice. Nuno on the other hand, is better than when I saw Extreme in 1987. Like Tom Brady, they still have game!
As time had gone on, great songs with great solos that are more mainstream have become free and far between. I think of The Darkness I believe in a thing called love, QOTSA No One Knows, Velvet Revolver with their first big solo and now this. It's great and innovative. I liked the system has failed album by Megadeth too. Great guitar is otherwise buried.
Thank goodness the 70s bands are still touring, and Extreme hopefully will continue or there's no replacement for actual God given talent
That is so funny that you would compare them to Queensryche. These were 2 of my favorite bands through the early 90s, and I always listened to them next to each other quite frequently.
Lets just say Extreme is Extreme, so very hard to categorize them. Amazing song i cant wait to hear this album.
Song depicts how they treat musicians brings you up and rise to fame just to drop you for the next best thing
Yeah, Gary Cherone's movements immediately gave me Scott Weiland vibes. DEAD ON.
I read where this song is about the music industry and how it can make or break musicians. And Nuno is a guitar god!
Extreme is a combination of funk, Rock, and progressive rock. They're super unique. You should seriously check out some more of their stuff especially the 90's. If you haven't heard it check out Cupid's dead, He-Man woman hater, get the funk out, and stop the world to start
It has that velvet revolver/Stp sound..
Guitar heroes, welcome back. Thank's Nuno. Curt Cobain, peace.
I'm so glad you said STP! That was my first thought. Especially the verse which sounds hauntingly similar to parts of Silvergun Superman

Thank you! I've caught some shit from people for saying that lol
YES! Velvet Revolver/STP vibe, but damn I missed it
Nostalgic! Nuno has not stopped playing with his guitar
Ah-yup Nuno's still got it. Yeah, I lost it on those pseudo-classical arpeggios in the solo, too. Boy can play.

I gotta say, though, GVF's Jake Kiszka seems to be working on his application to Guitar Hero status: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJWqq7iaZ8bSpNI.html
Talent has nothing to do with age
Go back and listen to the solo on Get the funk out.

I remember that Song from when I was a kid. I had an older brother that listened to them. I don't at all remember what it sounded like though, so I'm gonna definitely check it out 👍
The song is a banger! A real grower! Check out their new single Rebel another killer solo in it!
Same reaction
Funny you say they sound like other bands but maybe the other bands sound like them. They've been around a lot longer than Buckcherry and STP.
Seriously check-out banshee and #rebel as well, they really march to their own drum, extreme is just extreme
Not sure why you feel the need to compare Extreme to other bands. They really quite unique in style. Check out Three Sides to Every Story. Then Suadedes de Rock! You will get what I’m saying. Phenomenal band!
Merci pour ta réaction. More than words.

JA, never reached this level !!!
yep......"and still..............."
yeah this song isn't really about the lyrics, it's all about that solo. They've released a few other video's since that I actually like better, but this solo though...
Stp, van halen and extreme!
agest much?
do nita strauss the wolf you feed
The part in the solo that blows you away is slap back echo . . . he's playing every other note. C'mon, grab a helmet and get in the game bro.
Riff metallica no remorse.
The solo is the best part of a pretty generic song with a touch of Keshas Woo woo ot oooos
Lyrics are cringy AF and the first half of the song is so generic (sounds like a wanky car commercial) Nuno’s huge solo is the only reason the song is getting hyped.
Appreciate the honesty but I think a little snobby towards Extreme IMO. They are much better and more talented than ALL the bands you compared them to.
