She’s also put out a lovely summer song called “Next to You” in English, with her words and music attributed to Brandon Stone (though it is impossible for me to imagine that there was not collaboration between the two of them on the music)

wonderful reaction! Diana is 19 now she's will be 20 next May. Listening to this, I personally felt the lyrics to be very specific to Diana's life, but also touching on some universal truths. The first stanza (with its soothing blues and whites) is Diana's adoptive mother (Irina Ponik) saying look into my eyes and find unconditional love, support, and safety. The 2nd stanza (with more ominous darker colors) is what Irina saw in Diana as an orphan - the hurt, frightened, wolfing girl. Finally, in the stripped down final verse with just Diana and her ukulele sounding so vulnerable, there are still lingering dreams of her frightful past which can't be escaped (she has commented on this in interviews). Hence the furtive glances behind her. Diana and her mom have such a deep love for each other it is truly touching. Irina has devoted her life to supporting Diana's dreams. Diana's initial version of this song was all ukulele like the last verse, and she was very reluctant to release the song because as she said "the first pancake always has lumps".

Резкие вокальные и эмоциональные контрасты, которые в другом случае могли бы показаться противоречием. Но не в случае с Дианой Анкудиновой. Противоречия и контрасты лежат в глубине её природного дарования; большую их часть она получила уже при рождении, а всем известные события детства их только усилили. Какие контрасты? Светлая, чистая, ранимая душа - и тёмная, тяжёлая, южная красота, яркая и сложная. Весёлый, открытый нрав, умение радоваться жизни (как одна из черт характера) - и поразительное умение выражать тёмные, драматичные эмоции, боль и страдание (как одно из следствий "серого опыта"). Очень нежный, очень женственный голос - в любой тесситуре; и вместе с этим - ошеломляющая способность буквально вдавить вас в кресло мощнейшим потоком энергии. Отличная реакция . Первый раз слушал , на припеве с барабанами , по телу пошел приятный холодок. Для первого раза , у Дианы получилось неплохо . Послушайте ее фол-рок Диана Анкудинова "Небо славян" -найдите в поиске ,этой песни нет на основном канале . К сожалению не получается сбросить ссылку .
