He's not singing with a backtrack. He's accompanying himself on the piano.

Tim recorded this for his grandmother, who loved the song. He's also playing the piano. I think this is my favorite version of the song. Those runs were killer, but he made them sound so easy. Very talented man, for sure.

This was for his grandmother.... before I heard this version, I thought no one could ever do justice to this song except Elvis... but Tim is so amazing, and that insane range is beyond compare

There is a story (I hope it's the truth, I may be corrected by others - the story here is this was Tim's grandmothers favorite song, and she was dying in 2009, the year he joined Home Free, and he recorded this for their 2009 album ....so she could hear him singing it before she passed. He also was playing the piano at the same time.

It was 2009, he'd sub'd w/HF before, here + there, but had written original album songs for other vocal grps he was in, like Blue Jupiter + Ball In The House, he's well-known in the aca-world for his amazing bass voice..He also wrote his own album *there are awesome "Tim Foust-Radio Tour 2011" hilarious vids), promoting his awesome solo album "Best That I Could do" (that the production co he worked for in Calif. "Flying Pig" productions, encouraged his own album)! He finally joined HF in 2012, they kept asking him😊

Kevin this is just a rumor. He did sing it to a grandmother but it was for his long term girlfriend's gma. He tells the story that when he came over to visit she asked him to do this song for her. which he obliged. If you are on his Patreon page he has redone with his voice today. So good. I know lots think I am full of it but he told me the story himself .

Man, the runs that he does in this song are insane. And his tone and vibrato are surprising, yet amazing. This really shows what else he’s capable of. Not just about low notes and everything else he does. This was great.

I think I have 4 generations of goosebumps alive and well all over my body! This is the 1st time I've heard this and WOW! His voice was so gentle and full of vibrato that we usually don't hear from him. He also isn't using the country "twang" in this. I agree with your analogy about him singing in an a capella group making him a better soloist! A capella requires you to learn to sing as one while still keeping the ability to move around in the harmonies without muddying up the waters. In any case this was a wonderful surprise to have found! Great reaction as always! ❤

A stunning display of range. I saw a reaction to Tim by an opera singer. I commented I thought he had a 5 octave range. She used some kind of software that can tell what notes are being sung. She was convinced he had a 6 OCTAVE RANGE. Shut UP!!! He is just amazing . And Elvis should have sung this song as well.

Do u know which reactor this was? I now of a few opera reactors that have reacted to him. I've been trying to track down where the 6 octave comment came from. Ive seen several different ppl mention he was close to 6 now or at 6 and trying to track it to origion.

He's so smooth!! ❤️ I love his arrangement on this. It's just beautiful! There is so much talent among all of the guys in Home Free. Every one of them have different backgrounds in music, but all share the love for a capella and being in a group. All could be soloists in their own right. Each one brings so much to the table. No wonder their arrangements are so good. Tim had a solo career for awhile. One of his albums is on YT, "The Best I Could Do". It's excellent! He wrote most of the songs and collab'd on the rest. It's funny how when one of these guys steps out of the group to do something solo like this (Tim, Austin, & Chris), everybody is surprised. It's even funnier when they add instruments like a piano, guitar, or even trumpet. Everybody gasps in shock! LOL! I know I did just like everyone else! 😉😄 I guess we all expected them to always be the same from inception; a capella only. Rob has jazz and blues in his background. Austin trained for the stage. Adam trained on trumpet and never even thought of beatboxing until HF needed one. Chris is a classical pianist & also plays guitar. Chance is a good guitarist, photographer & writer. Tim, Austin, Chris, & Chance have all written songs. A few of them have sung with some big names before joining HF too. And that's just 'some' of their background!! So yeah... A LOT of talent in the group! 😊

I love the freedom Tim sings with in this song. Playing the piano while singing allows him to flow with the style he’s chosen for this which lets more emotion to enter his performance. It’s beautiful!

Loved it! Been an Elvis fans since I was a young girl, and that has been a long, long time. And I have never even listened to another version of this song until TIM'S version. It is on my playlist. No one will ever replace Elvis, but Tim killed this! Thanks for your reaction! Stay safe and healthy and have a blessed day!

So very nice! I’m use to hearing that lovely country twang in Tim’s voice, and it isn’t present here. It seems a little odd to hear him without it, but it’s a stunning version!

●He's a multi-instrumentalist ●Has a beeoootiful singing voice for a bass with 5 octaves ●He had sub'd w/Home Free b4 but was a songwriter for "Flying Rig" Productions, when they heard his voice on his demos, encou- raged him to write/sing his own album, he did + you can find some of his"Tim Foust-Radio Tour2011" vids from station to radio station+ u can see his sense of humor, too ●He then joined Home Free 2012 -they kept asking him ●Song is a tribute to his Gram Erma Marquis 2019-2009, so this was recorded 2009 on piano ●He's an amaazing songwriter (wrote album songs for a cappella grps he was in, like Blue Jupiter + Ball InThe House, great word- smith + arranger, love his slight sarcastic+funny take on life like his hilariously good ⤵ "Champagne Taste On A Beer Bud- get" (wife...spent all his money) & un-intentional sequel⤵ "Full Of Cheer" (wife left him...Full Of Cheer!), lol!😆😆
