The story of his playing/singing this song for his grandmother, in her sunset time, because it was her and her departed husband's special song, makes this one even more special. Tim is not only a brilliant musician from the standpoint of musical output; he also captures and affects mood and sentiment like few others can. Since Home Free has several members with this gift, their potential impact on the emotions of their audiences is huge - as no doubt you have noticed. Fortunately, they use this wonderful gift for positive messages and good cheer.

One of my favorite Elvis songs. This is the first time I've heard Tim's take on the song. It did not disappoint, it was beautiful!

Oh, I love what Tim has done with this. His run embellishments are so nimbly woven in, not like some that flippety-flop all over the place all convoluted and distracting. I'm another who instantly thought you would probably love Diana Ankudinova's cover and searched your vids to see if you had reacted to her before. But I wanted to really enjoy this one first, before commenting.

Such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. I think Tim did an outstanding job on it. He kept it simple with just the piano accompaniment which he is playing. He balanced his higher & lower range perfectly without overdoing it. I just love his voice. He has such a smooth breathy quality. Elvis would have been proud.

One of our generations VERY BEST singers, and combine him with the other beautiful voices on Home Free, it's an absolutely sublime couple of minutes of music. I believe he made this recording a nymber of years ago just as his grandmother was getting near the end, and this was her favorite song...what a good grandson !!

I love this song by Elvis and couldn't imagine any singer coming close to it. But Tim did an outstanding job. @@tassilo5949 no one in the world sounds as unique as Diana, the polyphonic combination of 2 octaves with their resonating with each other, and just as two waves touch, creating a rich pattern - interference, these waves amplify and complement each other. After Diana's voice, other voices sound depleted, as if the stereo sound is turned off and switched to mono sound. But of course, tastes are a matter of habit and perception.

@@tassilo5949 I agree. Diana is an amazing talent and I am a fan of hers. However, I prefer Tim's version. His voice does something to me that I can't explain, if that makes sense. He could sing the phonebook and I would listen to every word.

Tim recorded this in his 20's. Was so good then and way better now. Was his GF's, at the time, grandmother's favorite song. When they visited she would take his hand and lead to the piano to play. She was a huge Elvis fan. Now days everyone is a fan of his version. He has done an updated version but think it on his Patreon page only.

The first time I heard this piece was in the movie The Heiress with Montgomery Cliff and Olivia Delavan. It was just the instrumental piece. Next up, Elvis Presley. But honestly, Tim Foust owned this. My first experience with Tim Foust. Such an amazing artist.

Loved Elvis since I was a little kid and I am normally quite "allergic" to covers of his songs, so I was slightly hesitant to listen to it the first time, but loving HF and all their solo ventures too, I gave it a shot. Tim's version is breathtaking beautiful! The man has such a warm, soothing rich timbre.

His voice is beautiful ❤ his bass range is amazing. But his tenor range is. Wow!! I believe he can hit the high A. Full chest voice! 😅😅

A trait that Tim has that's not often found, is his ability to have such a gentle, breathy tone while hitting such low notes. And then to have that same ability in a much higher range makes it even more special. So many singers have to push hard to get those notes and it can sound very strident, so I really appreciate such a relaxed, soft tone, only adding extra fullness when he wants it. Great reaction!

Loved this performance. Chris if you love breathiness in a voice then you need to listen to Angelina Jordan. One vocal coach said it is like she has a dial on just how much breathiness she wants for each and every note. Angelina keeps getting better hitting higher notes but has always, seemingly from birth, has had a strong lower register with the most beautiful tone I have ever heard.

It's quite possible. Especially when you're the only one singing, you want to have that texture and musicality to build the song and tell a story.
