My band played a show with Sum 41, back in 2012. Was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I think you’d really enjoy the songs Pieces or With Me where Deryck is actually singing. I’m actually surprised he can so easily go from shouty punk anthems to softer ballads

Sum 41 recently announced they would be disbanding after their next album release. Wow what a journey....been listening to this band ever since finding their cd on the side of the road as a kid.

Still gotta do CLUTCH.....hell ofa band! Spacegrass, Electric Worry, Willie Nelson, the Regulator!

You should hear how he sounds now on songs like "Never There". Pretty remarkable how much he's developed his vocals.

Personally, I own all Sum 41 albums and your completely right on the first 2 albums they do not want to be original with the album. It changes dramatically on "Does this look infected" and "Chuck" when I think they started there own journey of being "SUM 41". With a lot of creativity in the albums and some really cool original sounds and not that much mainstream tunes. Give them a listen I love them and smashing my guitar strings to their more heavy tunes. By the way your channel is really cool :D Keep it up!

Once again, I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again. I wish you were my music teacher. The diversity in music that you show is amazing, when a kid comes to you they feel comfortable showing you their musical influences and don’t feel insecure.

sum 41's great, they're probably the most metal inspired pop punk band of the 2000s boom! songs like "we're all to blame" and "still waiting" demonstrate that in my opinion. and "fat lip" is really great too, showing off some beastie boys influence!

Love Sum 41, them along with like Blink and Simple Plan defined my summers growing up :) You should do some Protest The Hero, such a great prog post-hardcore/mathcore band. Their vocalist Rody has some of the craziest range along with just insane instrumentals. Or Ciodos, something off their Bone Palace Ballet album like Lexington. They're another post-hardcore style band that implements a lot of keys. Craig Owens the vocalist did a project with Jonny Craig who was a vocalist in Dance Gavin Dance before Tilian.

Honestly sum 41 is one of the few bands that got better with time

i heard somewhere that a lot of the guitars used as props where they're getting broken or damaged in some way in shows and videos had some sort of production defect and couldn't be sold

Hes grown quite a bit as a vocalist since then. I'd recommend checking out some newer stuff.

i remember zac from shinedown saying he contacted PRS for a broken guitar they could use in a video because it was going to get wet so i imagine something similar happened here. though in zacs case the guitar turned out to be fine and they were frantically drying it out between takes so he could use it live lol

(The singing fursure ;) Still Kick'n it too, and their sound is so good Can't wait for their next one Should react to the whole album of "Screaming Bloody Murder" It's a phenomenal piece of work and really shows how they own their sound... Other band may sound like them, but Sum41 does it soooo much better And "No, they are NOT like Green Day so you're not allowed to compare them" lol Derek (The lead singer of Sum41) has done acoustic versions where it's him singing live, so you can really see how far he's come, even through all his struggles I would suggest reacting to the originals 1st though because they are just as good All their videos are pretty amazing and original (lol, they get sued for copyright A LOT) but the intro to "Still Waiting" gets me rolling every time I watch it SOOOO GEUWD!!!

Oh he did a song with Linkin Park for Chesters memorial concert and, my god, he can sing but until I saw that I thought he had a good punk/pop voice
