Interestingly, the lyrics for that part of the music reference Marika. It says Ave Marika Aeterna which means Greetings Marika the Eternal. I think its Marika's music. 😳

I don’t know if you’ve watched his stuff but if you haven’t I can’t recommend The Tarnished Archeologist highly enough, and I’d love to see you react to some of his work. Particularly videos like “what it takes to become an empyrean’ and the secret history of the two and three fingers. His entire series on Elden ring is just phenomenal. I’m just devouring Elden ring content 24/7 rn, which I wasn’t expecting at all but Damn I’m so excited for this DLC. But yes, please watch the tarnished archeologist 😂🎉

I keep thinking that the gate in the start of the trailer is REALLY similar to the part of the Erdtree that contains the door. Like, you know how the Erdtree in game has this big brown splinter that is tree-colored while the rest of the Erdtree is gold? It looks like that tree-colored bit.

My guess is that those stacked bodies at the beginning of the trailer is what becomes the Erdtree, the way there’s this small gap reminds me of when you get to the arena of morgott/godfrey. Everything is covered in this divine golden light except a portion that looks incredibly similar. Also one incredibly insane crackpot theory I have is that the woman burning at 16:17 is Melina. It was stated before that she was burnt and bodyless and this could be a cool way to tie that in.

The dead and their bodies are still even being "fed" to the Erdtree present day as seen in the catacombs.

I like the idea that Messmer could be a child of Radagon and the Gloam Eyed Queen. That war in the Lands of Shadow couldn't have happened that long ago either, it was definitely post-Godfrey as the Wickerman giants have Fire Giant faces as ornaments on their hips (you can see them in the first trailer). Also, I don't think it's possible for Marika to be creating the Lands Between at the beginning there. Farum Azula and the Ancient Dragons loooong predate Marika, and they are right there in the Lands Between. I also really want that pile of corpses to be the Crucible since it's probably my favourite part of the lore, but why is the Crucible represented by a more regular tree in the main game then? Siluria's Spear and Helm, for example. This is gonna be a looong week of waiting...

I'm so looking forward to Shadow, their DLC has always been really good

Does anyone remember a thing called swaddling cloth? Religious related clothing resembled the relation and closeness the individuals shared.

On Messmer's birth timing predating Godfrey/the Crucible, I wonder if that's how Marika knew she could make her own children after Godfrey gave her the Omen twins (which maybe happened due to Godfrey's connection with the Crucible?). She banished Godfrey and locked up the twins, but kept her golden child Godwyn around as a role model/brother for when she had Malenia and Miquella... until she (probably) had Godwyn killed to keep her bloodline pure. Perhaps she was intending for Godwyn to be fully killed in body and spirit but Ranni threw a wrench in the gears by taking the body-killing half of the cursemark for herself?? Only Miyazaki knows 🙏

I just wanna say “man has no control even over his own WILL” - Berserk Anime. I say that to say we have to remember Marika wasn’t always a god. She was blessed to become a god and she did what it took to make it. But my theory is that the GO is the outer god that’s just trying to remain in charge It had to remove destine death It had to possess marika (Who I believe to be the formless mother) It had to thus plot the night of black knives BUT Marika trying to save her children got Ranni to sabotage the plan Again Ranni and Marika had to have a conversation that went something like Hey I’m your mom and your dad THINK ABOUT IT GUYS not only that Glom Eye Queen is mother of Godwyn GO WAS PLANNING TO RULL THE LANDS BETWEEN THROUGH THE PRICE OF DEATH

Go back to Vaati's first reaction to the trailer and you'll see in the comments that I said that was the gloameyed queen. If it is true, I win. I said it first. He stole my idea. (Edit: I went on a deep dive and I found out I said it in Ziostorm's video "How does this end?" 13 days ago. I still win if it's true.)

Vaati is so convinced that Marika used radagon to seduce rennala, when that would be against what the story is trying to convey. Rennala loved him deeply, so much that she lost her mind when he had to leave. The Japanese description of the golden order great sword says that it was forged FOR him, not BY him, and he made sure it looked like the sword given to him by his wife. He had to leave her, wherever he wanted it or not, and he clearly didn't. In the west radagon is seen as this asshole that schemed to destroy reya Lucaria when in reality he is some poor guy who can't disobey the will of Marika and of the golden order, because he is part of her. Radagon just being Marika all the time flattens the story needlessly. Sadly, having such a huge following, when Vaati still doesn't use the Japanese descriptions he damages the discussion for everyone. Ps: all of this makes his bossfight even better. Punished by the golden order for something he didn't even do, he still protects the order that he believed in. It's so goooooood.

From my understanding the Japanese text seems to imply even more heavily that Radagon and Marika were always the one than the English does.

@@athmil8302 what Japanese description? The one of the golden order great sword? Radagon has always been a piece of Marika, that doesn't mean that radagon didn't have any will of his own. Millicent is a piece of Malenia, she still has her own will, even if she has desires of convergence (the law of regression is a law of reality in Elden ring, afterall) Ps: ALSO, in the reveal trailer we can see that, even when they are literally in the same body, radagon is fighting Marika to prevent her destroying the Elden ring, while trying to repair it. Radagon being in agreement with Marika and helping her in reya lucaria is the lamest interpretation of the story, and it's almost certainly wrong.

why would I watch this instead of the actual video? Sry new to this youtube thing!
