I only ever saw her during the scripted moments when you first see the Great Sky Island and when her voice beckons you to the surface. (In both cases, she was so far away and the dragons in general were such a rare sight for me in BotW that I wasn't even sure whether it was even a new dragon or just one of the same ones from before.) For me, she wasn't seen again until the final tear vision and then she could be seen flying around after that. (I had a couple other dragon sightings throughout the game up to that point but they were the ice dragon and the electric dragon.) I ended up going around to all the tears first before running any of the four regional phenomena stories though. (I visited the regions and had the quests started in my log, I just held off on going any further with any of them.) But there was still quite a bit of running around before I went around to the tears. Visiting all the towers and tagging a bunch of shrines and just generally wandering around.

Zelda: Link, would you still love me if I was a wyrm? Link: Yes. 😭 I want to believe that Zelda deep down had faith in Link to somehow restore her; she just wasn't 100% certain and was more concerned in that moment with repairing the Master Sword so Link could use it to defeat Ganon. Her love for Link and Hyrule is so strong. Still, it's sad that she's suffered so badly. She may have been asleep during her dragon phase, but I can't imagine the mental anguish she went through in deciding to undergo the draconification process. Zelda must have been stressed from head to toe, and in the time leading up to her decision, and it looked like she was in pain momentarily when she swallowed the stone. I don't know if she would have trauma from being a dragon so much as from contemplating the decision, considering the possibility of never changing back, and then actually executing the decision. In her last moments before the transformation completes, she's probably thinking, "This is it; my life is over. Goodbye, Link... forever." God, there's so much angst in this scene, I can't bear it! It just makes me want to cry thinking about it!😭

there are too many hints at Zelda not really "losing herself" (those that finished the game knows) I think the whole "lose oneself" is something added to scare people from doing it, the stones are already sought after due to their base powers, it would be worse if you could become god-like beings from simply ingesting them. Not everyone is ready to sacrifice their minds for it, because it would be considered "useless" I think that, deep down, Zelda knew she would be 'fine', she wouldn't become a mindless beast, she will remember her purpose. Hints that stops at getting the tears, there's more at the end of the game but I don't wanna spoil: -She always sticks around the Great Sky Island at the start of the game -She opens Link's path -She calls out to him to shed the last tear -She calls out to him once you get all the tears -After getting the tears (and so knowing her full story), she'll start flying closer to the ground so that it's easier to get the Master Sword

She was stupidly high up in the sky when i made it and i was shocked to see the master sword there but couldn't pull it out. After spending time riding with her and collecting a scale like i did with the other ones i really started to look at her and said "This one looks realllllyyyy different then the other three. why does it have blond hair and shorter ears? Why doesn't it have a cool name like the other three? Wait... Zelda was suppose to have the master sword? oh shit it cant be right?" i started to realize then and spent the rest of that time having my fears confirmed.

I now fully understand exactly what it means that Zelda is the embodiment of Wisdom in this universe. Each version of Zelda understand clearly the cost of salvation, and they’re always willing to pay it forward for the lands of Hyrule, no matter what it costs her personally. The faith she chooses to place in others, the loyalty and love that spirit commands, how much her desire for knowledge and progress is clearly inspired by her pure love for those around her. THAT is wisdom. The ultimate wisdom of this world is that self-sacrifice is what’s required for life to continue, and she’s the ultimate representation of that. It makes sense that she’s the reincarnation of the creator goddess of this universe. The goddess Hylia was the first being to sacrifice their own divinity to put life and creation into this world in the first place. Beautiful storytelling.

The two games of sacrifice by Zelda are truly the most heart wrentching stories. Sure, Zelda is always missing or captured, but aside from Skyward Sword, which was a bit more in your face about relationships, this is about loss, and how to recover from it, the silent princesses now being relatively common in Hyrule now, since it was given room to grow, and prosper. This game was about an end, I think in more ways than one. Obviously the whole Oroboros thing, but its like, now that cycle has been broken, finally for the first time in at least 100+ years, hyrule truly has a chance to recover. Love it.

This scene is beautiful, powerful, and sad but made me have a major problem with the mechanic of the master sword after it. Like I understand the game mechanic of durability and don't mind it at all, and for balance the master sword needs to have it as well. But according to the story, that sword's being baking in sacred power for tens of thousands of years and the more it absorbs it the more powerful it becomes, but after like 50+ hits it runs out of energy and every time I'm like "ran out energy? the heck were you doing fused to the dragon head my guy? Taking in the sites?" XD
