It took a lot of takes to do this sketch. The actors couldn't stop laughing, especially the Chinese lady.

Where did you actually get this from exactly?

I recently worked with an Italian who did talk with his hands like that, i did that "fake italian" language to him and he loved it, he was hysterical
Love this sketch, cracks me up every time. "This is not my sandwich".....pure gold 😅
So terribly inappropriate. Absolutely love it 😊
National stereotypes used to often appear in UK comedy.

Then the world went woke
The African nearly smiled though ..It is important that artist guard the borders of free speach and also keep comedy funny ...
If you've not seen Catherine Tate posh people/posh family then that would definitely be worth watching
She is such a comedic genius!!

she is!!
Apparently during a lunch break in rehearsals the last guy actually said to the waitress "This is not my sandwich" and she added it to the sketch... you can see him making a rye smile at the end.
Catherine Tate's Nan Deal or no deal .....you haven't seen it!!! loving your reactions!!😁
Good Reaction and this was even funnier b4 they renamed it "Offensive" Translator and the surprise element is diluted. Before nobody knew what was coming but still funny though:)

They renamed it? I didn't know that! Interesting...

@@MeganRuth Its just a sketch from the The Catherine Tate Show from the BBC, it was never called that in the show.

@@MeganRuth Yes, as it was just called "The Translator", viewers realized it was a comedy but had no idea what was coming. lol
You're a bit of a latecomer! This one's done the rounds with all the reactors lol great reaction 👍

Even better -- as I had a break from it 👍
Love this, funny as feck. What about Fast Show. That was very popular at the time and gave rise to many popular catch phrases " Suits you sir!"

I be quick don't leave it another 50 years.
These stereotypes are taken from real life experiences and are accurate but obviously not all of them talk like they used to they have been westernised but the people in this clip were natives,
I love how everyone laughs until its someone who is black, and then they are shocked :)
I watched an Indian couple react to this and, when Catherine came to the Indian guy they did not seem to recognize what they heard and they both looked very puzzled. I love British humour. We Irish love laughing at them. Payback for the Potato Famine.

if were being honest, which we should be, the fault lies primarily with Ireland, only planting a mono culture (potato) when worldwide late heavy potato blight was rampant was rather daft . the rest of the UK suffered with it too but had other crops to fall back on. the government exacerbated the problem but they didn't cause it, mother nature and carelessness did

@@SirZanZa Honesty is a valuable virtue but it is worthless if it is misinformed. The Irish who relied on potatoes had no choice in the matter. At that time Ireland was a part of the UK and it suited the Liberal Party to allow the markets to decide the fate of millions. It's a complex subject. I have argued against those who simply blame the British government and insist on calling the famine intentional genocide. Yet, the government in Westminster had the power and the moral duty to help, they just failed to recognize the common humanity. The Choctaw nation had the empathy politicians in London lacked and despite their own poverty, they sent the money rich men in London couldn't spare the starving Irish.

@@patrickquinlan3056 like i said, the British government did not help were complacent and frankly inhumane with their complete indignancy, but planting a Mono culture is an absolutely catastrophic mistake. that is and always will be 99% of the problem. diversifying your food crops has been the standard in human society for thousands of years. i can see both sides being both British and Irish though from Ulster rather than the republic but i will always side with facts and truths

Only 52% of them loser,,ÿou wokers have created nothing but division since 2016 accept the demographic voting system &move on.
I heard this took several takes to complete, mostly because the Asian actor couldn't stop laughing and the African actor also kept breaking and couldn't compose himself.
This was fake, the "Spanish" was actually Greek.
