Information : It's not just COVER M/V This is the opening song video of the opening ceremony of the Virtual Olympic Games designed to comfort athletes who are having a hard time because of the Olympics delayed by covid-19. She singing Hope and indomitable will. So it's different emotion between original with this. The reason I'm writing this is because some Filipino malicious commenters say that this version did not make sense of the original song, comparing it with the versions of their own singers, saying they are more amazing singers. I could only listen to that for maybe another 10-15 hours it was so bland. As always she killed this song, and she did it in her own way. Every level of her voice sounds amazing. I love hearing her high head voice it is just exquisite. She always comes up with something new. Thanks for your reaction Adam.

Adam, what's better than Sohyang? Three Sohyangs. Adjectives? Incredible. Marvelous. All of the surprising things this lady does come right out of her musical genius through her perfect voice and into these amazing performances. Gushing again. No apologies. Cheers.

The only way to improve on a Sohyang song, add two more Sohyangs. The addition of the harmonies was a masterstroke, especially the pre-chorus where she added a sort of round between the 3 and gave each voice a slightly different color.

Thanks man!! You painstakingly went through why this cover was so good for us listeners! So thank you. You know this was a studio version? But knowing Sohyang, she probably did this in like 2 takes. One other video that is famous for being performed in just 2 takes was “the only thing” maybe 7-8 years back but this song showcases what she really can do with a mike and music score. Her vocals are painful for the soul. Please try out Sohyang’s “ the only thing”

You should hear Gerphil Flores sing this & did this before Soyang in a very similar way. Her voice is pitch perfect. She also did "Somewhere in Time" from the movie Somewhere in time. Why compare them? They can both exist and be great in their own ways without the need for comparison

She has a very bright and clear tone to all aspects of her voice. Her vocalizations toward the end were brilliant. She had no problem with this song whatsoever. She definitely made it her own. Beautiful. I know I may get pushback for saying this but I think that Morissette still is my favorite, but this is most definitely is a version that I will be listening to again and most likely dig deeper into her discography. Great review Adam!!!...and I totally agree with you 100%, but if given the choice, I would have to say Morissette.👌🌹🙂❣👻

@@AdamStraughan I agree. I hate that there seems to be some sort of need to bash another artist, especially it seems between Sohyang and Mori. I see them as 1a and 1b when it comes to the best in the world right now and count myself lucky that I can experience both. A collab between the two of them would make my life complete,

@@foxandscout wasn't saying they were. But, just pointing out that if you spend time on the comment thread of either, if the other is mentioned there is a tendency for backlash. Sadly, it mostly seems to come from the Mori fanbase directed at Sohyang, though I have encountered it in both directions.

😩😩😩😩What are you taking about? She's a terrible singer. Her voice is way too screechy for Americans. She can't sing Whitney Houston or Celine Dion songs.
