I have bipolar disorder, and I’m so glad I discovered this band. I was going for the walk at night having felt numb for weeks. I bawled my eyes out when this song came on, and damn it felt so good. I’m inspired to pick up my saxophone again and start making more music. Sure it might just be another mood swing, but I feel motivated and I’m happy for that.

Who else besides myself was introduced to Sleep Token from this channel and now absolutely love this band? Thank you Chase!

This. I’m still recovering from a breakup that ruined me both emotionally and financially and it’s like Vessel is the only thing strong enough to put cracks in the fortress I’ve built around myself. I discovered this band a little over a month ago and it really feels like they are the only tether keeping me to my humanity. Forces you to feel is the perfect way to put it because I have no choice once I hit play with these guys. Even for someone that has stacks on stacks of complex trauma, Sleep Token reminds me that my emotions are still there, and they bring them forth in a way no band ever has before.

This is probably my favourite song from them. As someone who's a fan of both trap music and metal, that moment when the band kicks in is just MAGICAL.

Just got Sundowning after being a fan for a year now since you introduced them to me. Now the trilogy is complete and it’s just everything. 🙏

I was blessed enough to see them on the Beautiful Oblivion tour in 2019, the ambiance of a Sleep Token show is something unexplainable. They are by far the best band I have ever seen live. Each member performs in ways you can’t put into words. They are so amazing, even more amazing live! Worship! 🖤

I have had such a hard time getting people I know to love the band the way that I do. I really love watching you react to them and see you appreciate them the way I do and see the pure joy on your face when you check out a new track.

This made me smile so big 😊😊😊 I fell in love with Sleep Token only shortly before I discovered your channel last year...let’s just say, you’ve completely enhanced my ongoing love for them. They make me feel SO much, SO hard. It’s intense. And listening to you do your awesome thing and speak about their brilliance? Psshh, it’s pure happiness overload, man. 🙏🏻❤️

Bro I'm glad there's another south african that resonates with Sleep Token as much as I do.

God I friggin love this song so much aaaaaaa. That break for the last chorus is so gnarly. On a musical level, everything about this speaks to me so, so much that it's hard to really try and condense it down to a little youtube comment. Vessel's little vocal flourishes, the rising or pulling back of the attack on the vocals, like on "i hate who i have become", that rising and falling, and the bits where he elongates and breaks certain syllables, or extends them for an extra 16th note, or gives it a triplet feel (similar to what's conventionally seen rhythmically in a lot of more ambient, ethereal dubstep tracks), adds so much, especially when they're used sporadically to set it apart from what was done the previous time it played. Now as far as that last chorus, omfg, everything about it is so incredible. I love that lead in where almost everything drops out, and that volume swell happens with the two bars marked only by the finger snaps on the beat. In the chorus itself, it might be easily overlooked, but the backing vocal from the other two choruses is pulled out and instead replaced with the airy vocal melody that kicked off the song and it rounds out that section so well, really bring the piece together, and I really love how the guitar in the back half of the chorus doesn't hit right on the beat, but instead does a kind of dun--dun--dun--DAH, also calling back to the rhythmic patters in ambient dubstep. I'm of two minds about the chorus, it's so friggin powerful and and it makes me wish they'd extended it, maybe gone for a double chorus on it, but at the same time, it doesn't overstay its welcome, it leaves me wanting more, and I absolutely think that's intentional on their part. Thanks for the reaction as always Chase. I feel you with those tears, my dude. It's just so emotionally powerful. Frig I love this band so much haha. Have a damn good day everyone.

14:39 - 14:54 is quite possibly the best explanation of Sleep Token ever… I’ve been listening to these guys for a few years now. I was watching various videos of them on KZread which led me to the challenge you did with Tank, which then led me to your channel, which inevitably led me here. This is my favorite Sleep Token song, and as it’s a bit different from some of their other stuff, I was anxious to see how someone else would feel about it. To see your passion for music and for this band is very relatable and encouraging in some ways. You’ve definitely gained an automatic sub from me after just watching a few of your reactions. Keep up the great work!

So interesting to see your reactions and hear your insight into this music. One of my absolute favourite bands. I truly hope that you get to see them live at some point as they really are incredible. I saw them for the first time in January 2020 and I was so overwhelmed with emotion I cried three times during their set. Just wow.

i was lucky enough to find out about sleep token in 2019 after getting tickets to see issues(fyi another great band to check out) sleep token was a supporting act that issues brought with them on their beautiful oblivion tour in the united states. Even for a small crowd of 50 people or so to open up the evening vessel mezmorized us with a quick set of old and new (at the time) songs for 40 minutes. The crowd went crazy during higher's last breakdown which was the finale of the set. A giant worship was heard as the band walked off the stage. Definitely one of the best concert experiences i've ever had. Live music is the thing i miss most since this pandemic started. Hopefully sleep token can get back to the states soon. Enjoy the rest of sundowning, it is a masterpiece.

I saw them in Minneapolis and I don't think people knew who they were but they commanded complete attention, people were either confused dancing or just staring in disbelief. It was a crazy experience haha

Sleep Token are beyond incredible live. The vocals are just as amazing and the crowd atmosphere takes it all to the next level. Personally my favourite band of all time. Went to see them end of Jan 2020 and am going to see them again when the UK returns to normality.

Can’t wait to hear your take on that jarring single beat that starts playing around a minute forty nine of the song. Make it make sense for me!!!!!

I've been searching for a great reaction channel that have covered one of the best bands out there and properly appreciated them, thank Sleep that I've found one! My favourite from Sundowning is Sugar. I don't know why, its different to others in that the lyrics are actually very simple, yet it is the song that makes me feel the most complex set of emotions (maybe equal with The Offering), you have the constant tension building up until the final moments of the song, it makes you feel almost feral in the breakdown. I genuinely can't describe it better than that. I don't know if you take recommendations from here, but if you do then Sugar would be mine.

easily one of my favorites off of Sundowning! i highly recommend their song 'The Night Does not Belong to God' by them it's one of the best album intro songs ever!

Came across this band while in a tatoo shop. Guy was playing this whole album and I've been obsessed ever since.

Just found you and immediately subscribed. Love that your reactions are equal part analytical and just emotional geeking out over the quality of Sleep Token’s music. If you haven’t already heard it, I would HIGHLY recommend reacting to Jericho from their Two EP. I think it perfectly does many of the things you seem to like most about the band (incredible vocal performance, brilliant consideration of sonic space, compositional maturity in letting ideas breathe for however long they need to, huge dynamic shifts that never feel contrived, STUNNING uses of counterpoint in countermelodies, polyrhythms etc… I could go on.) It’s a masterpiece.

This song was such a welcome surprise to me, they kill every song they do, no matter what the style

The great benefit for having teenage, young adult children is that they keep their Mother well informed of magical new music! You should do Take Aim tbh, it's one of their best songs and one of Vessel's best vocal perfomances.

I recommended Sleep Token to my Mum the song Blood Sport - from the room below. She admitted that whilst not the normal type of music she'd to listen, she felt very emotional at the end. I think Sleep Token have a way of tapping into emotions, and it's wonderful, as you say in a positive way, not always sad.

Hi Chase, really enjoying your reactions, especially the Band-Maid ones, I too only discovered them and became a "Maidiac" within the last 12 months. Please continue to bring us more Band-Maid content :D I really appreciate how you give us a really detailed and technical analysis unlike a lot of other reactors out there. You have a great variety of international bands but I have noticed you have no band to represent Russia as yet , so I have a suggestion for you to broaden the selection on your channel even more ;) They are a Russian Metal band called "Slot", They have a female and male duo singing setup and they are very versatile if you go back through their catalogue! And I know you appreciate a good Bass player, their Bassist Nikita is phenomenal! I hate comparing bands to other bands, but just to give you an idea, imagine the likes of KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Pendulem all rolled together and then you might start to scratch the surface, but like I said they are so versatile, you could listen to two different tracks of theirs and be forgiven for thinking it was two different bands. I really suggest you start with either their song "200 KW" if you want to start with an official Music Video, or "Cuckoo" if you want to start with a live performance! I have linked both below :) I challenge you to find a band that brings more energy than these guys and I can guarantee you will finish the songs with your adrenaline pumping (Especially 200KW!). Their female singer Daria is an absolute vocal beast and although these two particular songs do not showcase her talent that well, I'm sure you will end up down a rabbit hole like I did when I first discovered them. If you do end up enjoying them, I can always recommend you other songs of theirs to showcase different things! And I would love for someone who is as musically intelligent as yourself to teach me some things about one of my favourite bands that I may not be aware of!
