I love Ziyi Zhang (Hu Li) in this movie. She plays a villain so well, rocks a red lipstick, and makes a great femme fatale. She was also great in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters as Dr. Ilene Chen and Ling Chen. One of my favorite comedic parts: Carter: Just tell me how the Triads gon' kill us. Lee: They will torture us for three days. Carter: I can handle that. Lee: Then they will cut off our eggrolls. Carter: Cut off our eggrolls? Hell no! Let's get the hell outta here! Side note: Michael Jackson watched this movie around the time he was planning out his short film for the song "You Rock My World" and contacted Chris Tucker for a guest starring role and Chris stated in interviews that Michael told him "I've seen your movie Rush Hour 2, you're kickin' with the wrong leg".

I don’t know if they still do it but I was told by someone who attended the USC film school in the early ‘80s that they would play the first fifteen minutes of “Star Wars” with the rough audio track - no music, no sound effects, no ADR, no James Earl Jones. They were illustrating how important sound can be and after the students managed to stop laughing hysterically the point was made.

Dawn Marie you are so adorable and it is so much fun rewatching movies with you. Chris Tucker and Michael Jackson had become good friends before his death, and he used to imitate Michael in front of Michael as a way of teasing him. . did you recognize Carter's friend who was fighting with Lee?? That was actor Don Cheadle, who may know from the MCU movies as Tony Stern's best friend, Colonel Routes "War Machine."

Dawn based on things you asked in this: Yes, Bamboo is used for scaffolds in Asia. It's as nearly strong as steel (in this application) and way cheaper. It's just too expensive to ship to other countries. On the other hand, it grows damn near anywhere and will quickly take over most areas because it grows so fast. The other downside is the need to tie it securely to make it strong. Most Western safety agencies won't allow it to be used. See the movie Eastern Promises. Seriously. I won't explain why, and it doesn't need to be for the channel, but it will tick several boxes for you. "Kung fu" means a physical action. Technically dancing is "Kung fu". Chinese fighting arts are more accurately called wu shu, (war arts), but kung fu is accepted to mean the same thing most of the time. There are also thousands of forms of it. Drunken boxing, monkey boxing, snake style, white crane, white eyebrow, mantis style, wing chun, tiger claw, Hung-Gar are all forms of wu shu/kung fu, and most have distinctive looks that will some one know which form it is after just a few seconds. What Jackie does is a sort of blending of several forms, which he learned in a school dedicated to performing. Think of it like professional wrestling. The things he learned are mostly practical, and he's really good, but the focus was more on show than effectiveness.

The explosive device at the beginning was most likely made with DETA sheet. The material is basically the same as C4, but it's very compact and thin, making it much easier to slip into ordinary mail deliveries than huge boxes that might be more likely to draw suspicion. The detonation is often triggered by opening the envelope.

Yea I’ve noticed each of the three Rush Hours has one scene each that persistently trips up and is misinterpreted by most reactors In this one, it’s Carter’s ingenious carpet ‘smoke screen’ The reason he lifted the rug up was so that by the time Ricky picked up the gun, lifted his head and shot, he wouldn’t be able to tell exactly where Carter was, so there’s a chance he would miss, which is exactly what happened Since he was already holding the rug, it was all he had time to do before he knew Ricky would try to shoot him, so he created what is essentially a makeshift smoke screen You can see the bullet go through the carpet just under Carter’s right armpit, missing him As for Isabella, seems while you were trying to do the hair thing, you completely missed the scene where she meets Lee at the elevator after getting shot, which shows she got shot in the arm, not her butt Also it’s not clear if Carter used more fake money to gamble, but the money he won at the end that he gave to Lee was real, since it was from Caesar’s Palace

They couldn't shut down the main hwy in Hong Kong for the nude scene on the freeway. According to the director, Chris used a double but Jackie, who is game for anything and after telling Ratner he'd only do ONE take, actually ran down the freeway naked as a jaybird. As he was running down the off ramp, a fan drove up next to him and asked a completely naked Jackie, "Can I have your autograph", which he promptly provided...OMG...LOL...

I looked it up, and bamboo scaffolding is still used in Hong Kong. I also wanted to say you also told us that Ricky Tan died when he was shot off of the boat, so I can't give you full points for later saying he was still alive and then he was still alive, because you also said he couldn't survive being shot off the boat, so half credit :).

I knew you'd return to this soon, I just didn't know this soon! Seems like you're having a good time! And yes, bamboo is used in scaffolding. I saw it in Hong Kong and was somewhat amazed by it. Not a comedy, but suggestions for you to watch: 'LA Confidential' and 'Three Days of the Condor". Bit of boy flicks, but really very good films.

12:00 "I could just watch him all day" Please react to *Classic 80's and 90's* Jackie! You won't be dissapointed. (The stunts and choreo are far more elaborate and intense in his Hong Kong, mostly for insurance reasons...) Try to find original Chinese edits, US dubs are often cut down and have cheesy 90's American pop music awkwardly shoe-horned into the sound track. "Police Story" 1-4 (PS3 AKA "Supercop" with *Michelle Yeoh,* PS4 AKA "First Strike") "Drunken Master 2" "Project A" 1-2 "Armor of God" and "AOG2: Operation Condor" "Dragons Forever" "Miracles: The Canton Godfather" "Rumble in The Bronx" "Who Am I?" "Mr Nice Guy" 35:00 "Proper butt-naked" See "The Accidental Spy" (2001)

4:25 I've seen them use bamboo for scaffolding many times in China. I once saw them lift a 32,000 pound machine on a bamboo frame. It scared the heck out of me, but it worked.

Godzilla 1954 & 1956 are almost the same movie, but the 1956 version splices in Raymond Burr (of Perry Mason fame soon after) to give the movie some English speaking exposition. That version is probably the one you should watch first.
