This is the best halftime show of all time for so many reasons. If you're a huge Prince fan like you know the meaning of Purple Rain, the song is about a dream Prince had about the end of the world. He sings about this dream again in his song "1999" "The sky was all Purple there were people running everywhere" I love Prince the most because he was dark but also shed light on the darkness. Purple Rain is about the end of the world & being bathed in purity by God & being with the ones you love. So deep! & how ironic that it never rained at the Super Bowl & it rains for the first time while he performs PURPLE RAIN. You can't make this up, go look at Prince's quote about the meaning of Purple Rain online, he says it better than me hehe. The only thing new Prince fans are missing in this performance is how much of a great dancer he was as well but Prince had hip replacement surgery by then, which hindered him from dancing sadly. It's a very painful surgery & the reason he was even on pain meds. I really hope you do more Prince, he will surprise you everytime. My parents were lucky to see him over 20 times! love your reaction Queen. 🤗

And Prince could dance his ass off. Prince's dancing/moves was like James Brown, Little Richard, funky, R&B, Jimi Hendrix and Prince's own magic. And 100% Prince was a live performer, not a lip-syncer. He knew it wasn't genuine & he was a proud musician/performer.

There is no need to ever compare Prince and MJ. They were 2 of the best to ever do it, but they did different things. The best part about this half time show is that everyone loved Prince at the time. Even those good ole football bros could get into him. And he managed to sing three of his biggest hits but also cover Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix and the Foo Fighters. There was something for everyone. Prince was such a gift.

Really enjoyed your Prince reaction! I saw the man live 5 times, and there was no comparison. Simply the best live performer and musician of the twentieth century. No kidding. Had the pleasure of meeting him once and he was every bit as intimidating and beautiful as you can imagine. This performance made me a little nervous when I watched it in real time. The rain was really coming down and you could hear the water pooling in his guitar. Couldn’t believe he was using the Madcat in the rain (the tortoiseshell one at the start). She was his favorite guitar and he was notoriously picky about her treatment. Yes, I saw MJ twice, at the height of his fame. He was marvelous, but no one could touch Prince. They are both sorely missed. I recommend Prince in 2004: The Question of You live, and If I was Your Girlfriend live from Sign Of The Times.

If you want to see Prince performing in his prime, watch the movie Purple Rain. It's so good. He's playing a version of himself but not 'Prince', he's called 'the Kid' & he's with the members of the Revolution. It's a regular movie, not a musical, but they perform most of the songs form the album Purple Rain as the fictionalized band in the movie. You won't find better performances anywhere, it's just mindblowing.

I honestly don't get the Prince/Michael Jackson comparisons. I never have. Other than them both being black, and experiencing their commercial peaks at around the same time, they didn't really have much in common. Michael Jackson was an incredible entertainer, one of the grestest ever. And he was a musical artist, I will give him his due. But, Prince was something DIFFERENT. A seriously talented and committed MUSICIAN in every sense of the word. As he said many times, "I am music". He lived it every minute, every day. Plesse keep in mind that none of this is meant as a slight toward MJ in any way. The two actually had great respect for one another, regardless of what the rumors may have been. They were just two totally different artists and people. Both can and should be celebrated forever.

Reading these comments I'm realizing that you guys are on the same page of "Mj and Prince cannot be compared" Which is so right! You all have explained that they were always compared because of their VERY close ages, ethnicities and peaks at the same time. It reminds me of people always asking who's better Beyonce or Rihanna Thank you for your comment!

You can't go wrong with any live performance of his. But here, the danger is not only the heels and the risk of slipping, but with such an amount of electric stuff on stage, the danger of an electric shock was real. Your honest and natural reaction to Purple Rain is adorable. Here are a bunch of performances that you can find here and check: - Syracuse concert, purple rain : no rain, but it's epic. You'll be in awe, garanteed. - Lives at nulle part ailleurs (it was a french TV show, and he loved to play in France. He played here at least 3 times) the quality of youtube files is not really top, but the one where he's dress in blue gives a glimpse of what fun he could have on a small stage, laughing like a kid. The one were he plays Endorphinemachine rocks the place to the ground. - Cream, unplugged version: wow, just wow. funny, witty, with a snarky sense of humour. The exact video I link to ladies complaining about "Prince Charming don't exist ".. well, here he is. - His cover of Crimson and Clover, for some reason, I find him extra- cute here... - Electric chair live : This guy was a powerhouse ! -The hall of fame cover of While My guitar gently weeps" this is where a lot of people discovered that he was a top level guitarist. - Motherless Child : he could sing and readapt gospel and blues in a very own way to express a very deep and personal emotion. - The cross, live : to have a tate of his more spiritual side. and once you're at ease , you can try his earlier stuff. Do me, baby at Capitol theatre is a must-see. I literally now no girl or lady who can stay impassible. Young Prince was wild and hotter than the sun. I'd like to suggest some video where he plays the piano ( not the keyboard, the piano), but nothing long enough comes to my mind. I like to hear him play the guitar, but when he's at the piano or at the bass, I'm on cloud 9. Have fun! ( and no problem, you can love Michael Jackson, Prince, Queen, and much more... back in the 80's , even in France, chosing between Prince or MJ, was almost like being a member of a political party. I never choosed, I liked both, not listened to them at the same moment or with the same intent. I was actually a bigger fan of James Brown and Little Richard, and a gazillion of blues, jazz and soul musicians who weren't popular amongst teenagers were I live)

The best halftime performance of all time. Loved your reaction and am looking forward to more Prince. There are so many great songs and performances. I recommend anything from the Glam Slam show, but Nothing Compares 2 U (with the amazing Rosie Gaines) and Thieves in the Temple/It are my favorites. If you watch other performances from that show, you’ll see that Prince did dance as well. Unfortunately, he was in too much pain by this performance to be able to dance like he had when he was younger. Another performance I would recommend is the live version of America. It’s fun and funky and he plays drums on that one as well as guitar (link below). Someone else mentioned his performance of Purple Rain from the 1985 AMAs. That’s a great one, too. Loved your reaction and I loved hearing your commentary. Looking forward to more! Please check out the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony with Prince, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn and others. Love Michael also, but please my sister, let's love them both without them battling against each other. Both great talents, both very different, but both to be admired in their own way. Much love lil sis!

What's up Hannah? You wanna watch something funny? Michael Jackson vs Prince in the afterlife (S01-E01). How about deceit editing? The creator mixed MJ and Prince. He accomplished a video that gives imagination on what it could've been like with those two on stage. Michael Jackson ft Prince When Doves Cry Live I wanted you to smile so here's Prince covering MJ. Prince Rogers/Covers Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5

MJ is one of the 10 best performer's of all time. But Prince would wreck him 99/100 times and its no contest. AGain please seek out his live versions of America or Its going to be a beautiful night and understand how hard it is to have a band that tight live and its because Prince would rehearse the band 12 hours plus each off day he was a perfectionist in the best and worst of ways.....

Do you know something you should know about me Hannah, just like Michael I am a perfectionist, and if I do something I don’t like I’ll redo it so today I’m going to redo that video because it’s not to my liking. I’m sorry if I’m bothering you a little it’s just that I’m so excited to be talking to you. You’re amazing and I feel like you deserve the best, so I’m going to work on it and I’ll send it to you when I’m done

WARNING: This is a long a*** boring comment) In my opinion, there's no such thing as a "best Super Bowl performance ever." The greatest Super Bowl halftime show ever is a matter of personal opinion and can vary depending on individual preferences. in my opinion, the greatest Super Bowl performance ever is Michael Jackson's 1993 Super Bowl performance. because his performance changed the trajectory of halftime performances, and set a high standard for future halftime performances, influencing the way artists approach and execute these highly anticipated events. the previous year before Michael's 1993 performance, the halftime show often featured performances by marching bands, drill teams, and ensembles such as Up with People, which were considered to be culturally outdated, irrelevant by the 1990s, and had the lowest ratings. Michael's 1993 performance was/is the most watched half-time in Super Bowl and television history. More people watched the 1993 half-time than the game ITSELF. As I said, The greatest Super Bowl halftime performance ever depends on individual personal preferences. In my opinion, Michael's Super Bowl performance was the greatest ever, and I have my reasons for that, in some people's opinion, Prince's half-time performance was great, and I have no problem with that. Hell yeah, Maroon 5's cringe Super Bowl performance (which is considered the worst Super Bowl performance in Super Bowl history) was the greatest performance of all time, according to some people lol. Finally what I want to say is that sometimes it's not worth debating "which is better", in some cases it makes sense, but in some cases debating "which is better" doesn't make sense. For example, debating who's the best singer "Michael Jackson or Prince" is reasonable and makes sense, but debating who's the King of Pop "Michael Jackson or Harry Styles" is not reasonable and doesn't make sense. I hope you get my point, have a great day Hannah

Oh for sure and don't worry I'm not trying to take away Michael's title of "King of Pop" that is reserved to him ONLY!! I just say debate for comments sake and I don't regret it cause I've learned SO MUCH reading through these! It does take some background knowledge about previous superbowls, which is something I lacked! I'm 18 and I am not a huge football fan, I didn't know about MJ changing the style of halftime show and it being just bands before!! That is an excellent point. Thank you so much for commenting!

@@celineophileHey Hann My comment may seem like a 30-year-old dad, but I'm just 19, so there's only a few months difference between us. And as for knowledge, I don't know anything about football, and I'm very confident I don't even know half of the football knowledge that you have. I only know about Super Bowl halftime shows and I only recently learned about Super Bowl history only to compare all of the Super Bowl performances (not to learn about the game lol (I know I'm a bit weird 🫣) btw hey, I don't mind if you react other artists as well, I'm all for expanding the audience and reaching out to more people. best of luck my G ❤

No offense (I know that you're full of yourself in a big way and the emotion got the best of you) but people come here to see your reaction to the video, but they really want to see the video above all else and you drowned it out and ruined it. Sorry Hannah, but constructive criticism is more important than a dozen 'yay Hannah' comments. The rest was fun to watch though 👍

No show... there was more substance than any halftime show ever...No smoke and mirrors...all talent and music by REAL MUSICIANS. He did not need 50 people on stage or people swinging on ropes to keep your attention. This is a masterclass in crowd control from the GOAT. Sorry Michael and James.
