I have to wheel mine out on the porch so far to get sun. I hope one day to at least have a decent sized aviary outdoors but, they love going out in their main cages for now. Also, working on training my conure for a flight suit so he can go out with it.

My monsters hate any toy I buy. I’ve tried many, even bringing the bird to the store. But, they go nuts over the toys I make. I have two 10-drawer carts full of stuff I use to make the toys. A popular one was a piece of wood I had drilled holes onto each side and put in new corks. Just about every bird loved it.

I know it's extra work for you but at least you know what your bird is playing with so I think that's awesome and it's honestly why I have my own toy line now! lol

Hi, just found you and have been binge watching all evening. Adopted 2 female budgies 2 weeks ago. I have done quite a few things wrong yet thankful I can now take what Ive learned today to make things right. Really wanted to order your Tiny Toys for them. But on top of $48 + converting to Canadian dollars and then $40 for shipping! YIKES! I also was encouraged to get the Vision M02 Cage, which I did, they came in a tiny cage full of plastic toys and perches with sandpaper on them...oh my this transition to make it all natural and different sized perches shall be a bit of an investment, yet willing to do. As you have said the cage seems quite tall, however they do seem to now being utilizing far more space within. Question, I was told to completely covered for 12 hours per night. I havent seen you do the same? Im hoping to start getting them used to me and now that weather is getting warmer here in Northern Alberta, Canada they can spend time in my enclosed front porch. Thank you for all the education.

Picked up a hand fed 6 week old Eclectus a few days ago. So far so good. Been watching your excellent vids. Curious question: The breeder told us that when hand feeding, to ALWAYS feed the bird from their left side. I've been searching for info but haven't found any. Old wives tale?????

@BirdTricks or anyone who can advise … I am at the point of disinfecting branches for perches for my budgie. Definitely following the Bird Tricks blog!! I wondered - is there a limit to how much wood the cup of bleach in the bathtub will effectively do? - is there more bleach/longer time/both required for thicker branches? Or is the centre of a thicker branch less likely to need disinfecting? A few days ago I took some parts of a Rowan tree that had fallen in a storm about 3-4 years ago. Some are smaller branches, like the one before the twigs. The others are quite big, the ones that come out of the trunk. Will these all be ok if done together in one go in the bathtub or will I need to do separate soaking with more bleach for the big ones? Thanks in advance for any help and answers 😁

Hello, would a 24 inch long, 22 inch wide and 34 inch tall cage be to small for a cockatiel, I’m planning on having it out most of the time but I have school so it would be inside for 8 hours 4 times a week. I’m getting my bird in a month and want to make sure it’s happy.

So some of the other bird guys on here say to stay away from the concrete perches for 2 reasons- they cause microcuts on the feet which can get infected, and they eat tiny bits of it, if it's not the smooth kind, and get injured on the inside. What's the rules to have those perches?

Can you make a crystal acrylic ball[approx 14in) with a shiny holographic Birdtrricks logo inside with pivot points above and below the logo so it is balenced to spin. Maybe it could be motorized to be multi speeds and spectacularly fast and flashing reflections and blue light inside so it may spin and/or flash and fast or slow as it was shown about stage/ and audience . Maybe Capri or Jamie could incorporate it into the magic show as it disappears and one of your birds appear. I was thinking a large fan on a portable ramp and long silver and blue tinsel and a very bright pure white light back lighting the fan and streamers along with lots of hazing fog falling to floor level. And of coarse an amazing upbeat story about the wonderous light contained inside the orb with amazing potential of A Spectacular Life. I am sure Jamie and Dave have worked never ending to get the act where it is. But maybe it would be a great idea for Capri to build her act on.

If it were rgb and remote controlled it could be used to make multiple birds appear until enough are present to show off birdtricks then maybe ending by disappearing back into a single light

I have fake plants in my canary cage to provide a more naturalist environment. I assume this is okay for such small birds as they can't chew the plastic.

I know in all likelihood that you won’t see this and that it has nothing to do with the video but I need help knowing My family’s cockatiel passed away last night abruptly after just a single day where he wasn’t behaving like his usual self. He was 13yo so at the upper end of the life expectancy range but two days ago he looked happy and healthy and was eating and drinking fine. I caught covid on the 14th of October and we found our beloved bird passed on on the 17th of October. Believe me in my grief I scoured all over the internet to see if covid could be transmitted to birds and all literature says no it can’t and my mums had covid in the past (she lives with our family bird) and nothing happened. I geuss I’m just feeling inconsolable about the fact me being sick with covid may have led to his passing. Jamie, Dave if you have any info on what may have happened or your experience with covid amongst birds PLEASE PLEASE let me know

I’m so sorry for the loss of your lovely bird. 13 years is a ripe old age and he surely was well looked after and cared for to make it that far. I’m not sure on whether covid would be the case but please know it’s not your fault. You won’t have purposely gone out to get covid and potentially infect the bird!
