100% facts for me that was when SW peaked, we got Republic commando , ROTS, the ROTS novelization i think battlefront 2 OG (The absolute classic) etc. Good times

I remember being a teenager back in the mid 90s, and so excited about new Star Wars movies coming out. Me and my friends cannot wait to get the special additions on video. Now there’s so much hate, and the kids. It’s really refreshing, to go back and see Star Wars excitement, as little as 15 years ago. Thanks for sharing.

So I recently rewatched some of my favorite creators looking back on some of what they did from the early day of KZread and one of them really hammered the nail into the board when he said something along the lines of, “If you find yourself wincing or cringing due your old writings or creations, that means you have grown both as a person and a creator, and that’s okay.”

Very enjoyable to watch, I'm nearly 16 myself, I'm sure it'll be funny to read back my own internet posts when I'm 30

This is a dope blast from the past, Anakin's lightsaber from ROTS and the movie and novelization of the film are all amazing! 05 was peak Star wars for me imho. I can't blame you for being that hype for getting the lightsaber! Man I remember the iPod that's a tbt if I ever saw one. I miss the star wars community and how it didn't used to be so divided and volatile like you said

This is pure gold and so relatable. I was around 15 years old myself when The Old Republic MMO released and almost all of my friends at the time were from the roleplaying guilds I met on there. I barely played the actual game itself I spent so much time roleplaying and writing fanfiction for our characters. Going back to those forums and reading my old posts is just as cringe inducing, yet strangely insightful into my young mind at the time. I subconsciously put all of my daddy issues into those characters, and what a rollercoaster it is to go back to them now haha. Thanks for posting this and I'd love to see more. This is amazing. I was only 6 at that time, I wish I was old enough to be on the internet and be with you all. I remember the time of ep3 coming out as being so exciting!

I was 12 years old in 2005, I remember I was so exited for Star Wars Battlefront 2 coming out, I would go to the library just to re-watch the trailers for it because we still had only dial-up modem internet at home. I used my mp3-player as a memory usb stick, downloaded the trailers on the library computer and put them on the mp3 player to be able to watch them at home xD Also, in 2007 during Celebration IV, Jeremy Bulloch (R.I.P) had an autograph signing in my hometown in Norway (which was kinda huge for us here), and I got to talk to him and he signed a Star Wars book I still have. He was so nice and humble to me, I will never forget that .

Pretty cool of you to share this! I use to be on some Star Wars forums as well haha. I was also on CheatPlanet forums. Anyone remember that one? Am I dating myself pretty bad right there? Haha. I got picked on that forum quite a bit. Constant "flame wars" or whatever they called them. I didn't stay on that one real long. Star Wars forums I use to frequent were pretty chill! Only lightsaber I wanted as a kid was a double bladed Darth Maul saber. I never got a super expensive one, just the one that had the fx sound. Bought it at KB Toys I think haha! I'm feeling nostalgic after this video. Love it.

At the mention of MSN I just remembered a large chunk of my teen years spent talking to so many friends on that, thanks for that SWT. MSN and Yahoo Messenger were the mainstream go to IMs. There were older and shadier IMs from memory if we go back even further, but I can't say I know much about those ones personally I'm only aware of the even older ones though because my old man used to frequent them. The internet was indeed a lot more different back then. Less people trying to push their views on eachother and mostly people banding together and enjoying hobbies together in their own little niches/groups. It was a time of learning together, sharing our knowledge and finding out what the internet was even capable of.

I have 6 force SFX lightsabers from every Christmas when I was little. I loved em so much that when I got to High school, I took woodshop and said my project would be an umbrella rack as I was too embarrassed to say they were actually for my lightsabers lmao. I made it with 7 holes and that last spot is reserved for the Mace Windu one. I always wanted the Windu saber and I cant believe I never picked it up but eventually I will and it will make a fine addition to my collection

Damn forums were a blast back then. I remember being on a Bioware forum in late 2003 after KOTOR came out and people were getting into massive philosophical debates about which was stronger between the dark side and the light side.

blast from the past man. I was teaching game development at uat at the time and saw ROTS at E3... well the theater outside. I was shocked at how violent it was and was debating whether my 7-year-old son was old enough to see it.

If we made anakin watch the phantom menace, he would have the same reaction. It’s okay.

bro this reminds me of when i went to college i got a mac terrible for gaming but jedi academy was available, there was one online mode that had active players and as it was so small we all recognized eachother so we would chat in game about what we were up to, such a neat, cool unexpected online community in 2011, i even had someone try and render a mod from jkafiles for cade skywalker to work in single player vs multi, he did it and all but the character mod was giant and never worked out, but dope someone took the effort to try from a simple ask. I learned how to play the game better from that community. and so many little tricks. what good times.

I used to message people of KZread when I was 9 in 2010, back when you could private message on KZread (not sure if you can still do that now), and I would talk about "leaks" with other fans. I remember the big one I found was about a new trilogy being made where the main Sith villain would use Force Fire and I was so hyped about it, I messaged all the people I knew on KZread about that "leak" LMAO

I remember watching ROTS on dvd back in 2005 in the uk. I was 7 years old. I didnt really get the deeper plot because of my age but holy crap I loved the action scenes and found the anakin turning bad quite sad and tragic. Would watch it every night before bed and understood the plot better everytime I watched it. Its definitely one of the best and most important star wars movies and that's my personal opinion that I'm sure alot can agree with.

I was born in 94 and first really got onto the internet in like 2005 or 2006, but I do remember things being really good online until about 2014-ish, or 2015. Then things became more tribalistic. I think a lot of it is just general asocial people in real life who take out their underlying feelings online these days. In the early 2000s it was just a lot of very separated groups, like, if you liked Star Wars you were on Star Wars forums and pretty much no where else. People kind of found their niche. Now that KZread is so massive and everyone is on social media it's different, we're all thrown together.

So In season 6 of the clone wars the furry ark is about order 66 and fives. What was the timeline for this? Like was it 6 months before order 66 really happen or 6 weeks?

The 1970s, Kenner's action figures, playsets, and vehicles are the big thing. In the late 1990s, I remember having tiny Star Wars ships and the product was called Micromachines. The action figures for Episode 1 didn't do as well as the 1970s. Also there was a great book between Star Wars and Empire Strikes back called "Splinter of the Minds Eye" that isn't canon but a great story if Luke and Leia were not related.

I don't know if this only happened in the UK, but does anybody remember those mini toy Lightsabers that was packaged inside cereals? During the release of The Revenge of The Sith? They slightly glowed in the dark and had like a mini maze, with the tiniest black ball in each Lightsaber lol

I think the prequels have garnered more positive attention since the mid-2000s. The Clone Wars made strides in changing that perception in my eyes. On top of that, I feel some fans just didn't understand what George was trying to portray if I remember the largest complaints correctly. Now that people better understand who those characters were, I feel some of the disdain has subsided. Just my two cents...
