This song was for his father, the old man who appears in the video. He had stage 4 kidney disease, and James wrote this as a goodbye, because it was almost terminal. But after the video, some distant relative of him did the donation and his dad still in this earth

Both men were in the military and and when they were being deployed they said that to each other "im not your son and your not my father" and vice versus as you know stiff upper lip as the British are 😊
