Eight of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher’s luxury and personalized watches are going up for auction - and they could sell for more than $4.8 million in total.
The rare timepieces will be exhibited in New York from May 3 to May 5, the weekend of the Miami Grand Prix, ahead of the auction in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 13, according to auction house Christie’s.
Schumacher’s family holds an array of watches collected by the champion driver over the years and, “more recently, they decided to part ways with specific watches of the collection, where they believed watch collectors would be able to appreciate the true value of the pieces,” Christie’s head of watches Remi Guillemin told CNN Thursday.

I bought a black dial version of the rolex. It was one of the the greatest moments of my life as I saved 10 years to buy that watch. I flew from Amsterdam to London and took a coffee after 3 hours went back. Now I can do a little research and hopefully find out what what she is worth.

Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $65million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.

The FP Journe collection was stunning. Definitely that was my favorite.😍
Schumacher will always be legend of the sport. The pieces are definitely a reflection of that.
Its funny to see guys like muhammad ali wearing a cartier tank with no problem, while small guys, with tiny arms and no muscles are saying that a 39mm royal oak is a small watch 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 its the same kind of guy that drives a huge truck for overcompensation

Was in FP journe during watches and wonders,crazy fact all the watches on display had no movements in them.They have 30 watchmakers and your right production is around 1000 watches per year ❤

The family is selling the collection because they need the money, it’s a know fact, sadly.
How is he auctioning them off? He's a vegetable after the ski accident, nobody except his family and doctors have even seen the man since.
