REACTING to LORNA SHORE (Pain Remains I - Dancing Like Flames) 😔🔥💔

Ойын-сауық

An emotional one to say the least. Lorna Shore's ability to create distinguishable melody while producing that much intensity and power is incredible. Pain Remains l was special and I can't wait for the next one.

I work as a respiratory therapist and I see people die on a regular basis. I am the person in the room who pulls out the breathing tube and turns off the ventilator. I have seen these situations far too many times. Out of the videos in the trilogy, this one hits the hardest for me because I am a part of these situations regularly. I have seen people’s legs give out from underneath them. I have heard people scream and cry hysterically. It never gets easier.

"it hit me like a ton of bricks"... I still feel the same everytime I listen to the trilogy. And I still cannot play it randomly, probably never will - it would break me again and again. I am still processing it (since the songs have been released) and still am crying my eyes out every single time. But it is not only the lyrics, it is the haunting composition, the skill of all instrumentalists in Lorna Shore and Will´s voice shifting from angry and demanding to broken, desperate and lonely, suffering the greatest loss of all. I think of the times death met my family and friends and my ever existing fear of loosing my husband, the love of my life, creeps back in front of my mind, when I hear theses songs. And it haunts me. Each of the 3 songs is just too real, raw and beautifull, but so full of pain... yes, pain remains indeed. Thank you as always, but espeacially this time, for your opinion on this song. Lots of love to you Chase

I apologize in advance for the long comment. Yeah, like you said: it's not only the lyrics that break you, it's also the composition. I wouldn't have as strong a reaction if it was a Pop song with the same lyrics. The reason I feel this way is because of the composition, because of the vocals. The way everything blends together into something that perfectly captures what it's like to lose someone, that's what breaks you. You can pin point certain parts of the song, specifically the composition, that could be connected to what you're feeling while going through this situation. The soft melody in the beginning is dreamy, so it's like what you feel when you're around this person. Then the guitars come in with the "Dun dun dun", because you realize that something isn't right. My favorite part, however, is the end of the guitar solo: 10:57 you can hear a happy "Da da-dada dada-da", which is that glimpse of hope. The whole solo perfectly captures what it's like to be completely hopeless, but then all of a sudden you hear those notes. They really stick out. Maybe there is hope after all. Beautiful song...

Pain Remains trilogy was so incredibly special. Not just for Deathcore or even the metal genre as whole. Not really for music, but just art as a whole. Tue range of emotions it made me feel. Anger, despair, just sobbing during moments, making me feel empty and drained. I don't think I've ever heard such emotion put into a guitar solo before.

Thank you for choosing to do reactions to the Pain Remains trilogy by my favorite band, Lorna Shore. Love your description of the beginning build up as a hopeful dream and as the instruments come in and we get the first vocals, you feel the panic like stumbling in a dream. Perfect analogy. Very pleased to hear you refer to Lorna as artists, they absolutely deserve all the accolades. Each member of the band has contributed something special to the trilogy and it would be a miss not to mention Adam's role in writing the screenplay and of course Will's intense and emotional lyrics. They wanted to write something beautiful and moving to showcase deathcore in a different light and they have achieved that, which has elevated them even more in my eyes. They broke my heart, in the best way. If anyone watches this video and is not moved to tears, I'm convinced they are dead inside. Thank you. Looking forward to your thoughts on Pain Remains II and III.

When you said “that’s the thing about pain - it demands to be felt”, that resonated with me in a way I can’t fully describe. As someone who often detaches and suppresses, I have never truly experienced pain. I’m ashamed to admit after 4 or 5 of your videos I couldn’t stand to watch you. I watched this one because there’s nothing worth not watching a reaction to this song. I connect with this song more than anything I’ve ever connected with. During your interpretation of the “intro” of the song, your description of the emotion of the music was directly related to stages of grief. You could feel the music because you could feel what you felt when the thought it triggered originally happened. That’s compounding feelings. You can see it in your eye movement. Your brain has some hyperactivity going on. The way you experience feelings like this uniquely qualifies you to give an interpretation of music as an art. Art is a reflection of emotion, whether conscious or not. You understand it because you experience it in the same way the artist does - again, consciously or not. Your eye movement gives that away. This tell me that you, sir, have seen some shit. I don’t think I have ever been able to understand a piece of work so utterly and completely. Even a concept I’m familiar with. I’ve never been able to interpret anything so perfectly. I have never experienced grief like that. You have earned yourself a fan, because you’re an infinitely wiser man than I had ever previously aspired to be.

This video is magical in many ways to me. The way you came into the video expecting to indulge in more Lorna shore brutality, you blasted those air drums and guitars with almost childlike glee. Then the realisation, when it clicked exactly what was happening in the video and you went from giddy child to thinking man. "The thing about pain, it demands to be felt." Wonderfully put, and the Lorna boys truly set out to make us all feel. Having not lost many people close to me yet my feeling is more about the fear of that inevitable time coming around and how I'll deal with it. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us, I look forward to more in future 👍

All 3 of the songs released while I was walking my dog. I totally wasn't sobbing like a baby while walking my dog when "I finally see that a world without you isn't meant for me" was said. Wow, defo got me after that whispering. Never apologize for true emotion.. Have you heard "don't Go" by bring me the horizon, that always gets me. It's so raw and you can tell Oli is screaming it in pain, because the story is a true story about a kid he went to school with who was brutally murdered in the worst way, the kid had autism too or something. And it was his cousin who was involved in the murder, I think the song is from the perspective of his cousin's regret and pain. It also ft lights which gives it such an Erie vibe. Proper tear jerker. Never heard Olis screams sound like crying before. Just so good and true emotions, it's quite an early sing, from there is a hell believe me I've seen it Album, so metal core.

when i got the notification that you were going to do the pain remains trilogy i knew how hard it was going to hit you just want you to know that we are here for you. as you may know i am one of the Maidiacs and don't listen to much metalcore or deathcore but this trilogy is an incredible piece of art and storytelling. and like alot of the commentors i too have tears running down my face whenever i listen to any one of the trilogy. gotta say it helps to let your emotions take over especially knowing there are others out there feeling the same and sharing

Thank you for this reaction. I have been waiting for it. I really enjoy your reactions and analysis. This trilogy is epic. Even without the video, the music is moving. The orchestrations are beautiful. The video though, coupled with the music make it spectacular. It's heart wrenching yet beautiful. Brutal yet so emotional. Death core was out of my metal comfort zone. Lorna Shore brought me in with this. I never knew there was a symphonic side to the genre. Also found Shadow of Intent. Another great band

Chase, I saw the notification that you were doing this and I knew right away it would be a rough one for you. The first time I heard the song and saw the video was Elizabeth’s reaction to it, and it utterly destroyed me. You are right, we develop personal connections to songs from our own experiences, joy, and pain. For me, this song brought me right back to my 11 year old self as my mom lay dying in a hospital bed from cancer. Never in a million years did I think a death core band could tap into that grief so instantaneously. These guys are brilliant, and this trilogy is both excruciating and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your insight and your pain, it’s a vulnerability not many people are willing to put out there. Hope you are doing well, brother. Would love to get the chance to have that beer some day.

I think this is the first reaction of yours I've seen in which you had a bit of a struggle with finding the words to share with us. The relatively few words you did give us were beautifully pithy, but the volumes of words you wore on your face while reacting with pure emotion were nearly innumerable, and yet we all understood every single one with perfect clarity. Yours is perhaps one of my most favorite reactions to this song I've seen because of your wonderful expressions throughout.

Thats right my friend. DEATH PERMEATES ALL. But we will not go silently into the night. Our loved ones go into the veil and we sit here scared, alone, grieving, but we will never be alone. WE ARE NOT ALONE. Message me, add me, dm me, etc. ill alwayss listen my friends and i am here for you.

On paper, I should be absolutely head over heels for this band. They're technically fantastic, they're fast, they're heavy. They tick all of the right boxes for me, but they're just a band I'll never choose to listen to. I really don't understand why. I will say this though, "A world without you isn't meant for me" is one of the best lines I've ever heard in a song.
