@Bubby03048 күн бұрын
As a Braves fan the rotation has been great. The main question mark that has relevance to the post season in my opinion there is Morton (who hasn't been very good this year overall), and if Lopez can continue to be good (he will obviously see significant regression, but the question is if this is Bryce Elder level regression, or staying at a decent 3rd pitcher level). These are my current feelings on their outlook coming into the trade deadline. Fried outside of his first 2 starts has been one of the best starters in baseball (if you don't agree, go look at his stats since his 3rd start on and you will see how good he has been), and Sale has been pitching at his old self (and actually underperforming expected metrics somehow, which is insane). If Lopez can be a +3rd then the rotation coming into the postseason really isn't a worry (Contrary to what people say, I don't really think Sale's health is a stressor as his injuries have been insanely flukey and not tied to general health). Spencer Schwellenbach despite some poor results so far, has shown to have big league stuff and is more than sufficient for a 5th starter role to get through the regular season (and has shown very rapid improvement each start). It feels like each one of his starts is a few pitches away from being very good, he just doesn't have the big league experience (which he is very very unlikely to be used in post season, at least as a starter). If your biggest worry entering the postseason is a 4th starter, then you probably are in a good spot (spoilers: this isn't the Braves biggest worry). The bullpen has been one of the best in the majors even with how many injuries the Braves have had, but AA normally likes to grab a relief pitcher at the deadline so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a player in mind that is not performing to their potential that wouldn't be too expensive (Think of how he went and acquired Pierce Johnson last year despite his stats in Coors being terrible, then coming to Atlanta and being one of the better 2nd half relievers). This is not a big concern, but you can always improve your bullpen. The Braves big worry as of current is getting the bottom of their offensive lineup to connect back to the top (one of the things that made them so deadly last year). Losing Acuna and continuing to be plagued by injuries has made the lineup much more shallow than you would ever expect Atlanta to have. The big impact bats like Riley, Olson, and Albies have started to come back alongside a rise in Kelenic's offensive profile and Ozuna having a crazy year so the top half isn't really a worry, but bats like Arcia and the outfield guys (Duvall vs RHP, Laureano, and Wall) are just not cutting it currently. I bet they make a splash on a rental outfielder that is not too expensive that can platoon with Duvall that mashes RHP. Duvall has actually destroyed LHP so the lineup seems good on days they face LHP but is miserable to see on days they face RHP. Harris will come back, but this alone isn't guaranteed to fix the lineup as Harris has struggled to get it going (and returning from injury is tough to get into a groove). If they don't get an outfielder of some sort, I will be shocked.

I largely disagree. Obviously the lineup will start (and has started) to bat better but the pitching come post season shouldn't be a big issue with Fried, Sale, and Lopez as your big 3. I am sure Lopez will see significant regression, but him as a 3rd in the post season is better than many teams 3rd (not all). Going for an upgrade to platoon with Duvall would make a worlds difference to their offensive production versus RHP (Duvall has been great versus Lefties, but is one of the worst in the league versus Righties). The Braves will likely work for a rental pitcher (as in 1-2 years) but this isn't as big of a need as other things. The bullpen is also pretty loaded despite several injuries taxing it (AA really loaded it up this last offseason and it has paid off so far). I think the Braves will likely look for a cheap starting pitcher just for some Morton insurance but the big thing is connecting the bottom half of the lineup to the top currently. If there were good shortstops on the market I would say thats where they add but there really isn't a good fit that I am aware of currently.

Damn, I completely forgot about that. I think it all comes down to whether or not Gavin Williams shows he's going to be a difference maker the rest of the way this season. Bibee, Williams, and Lively would be just fine for the Playoffs with the bullpen being the main weapon.
Markners realistically need 2 bats

With Elbows blowing up left and right there is no such thing as a fixture in the rotation for years to come!
What can reds get for Elly
Why aren’t the astros on the list, they really need a 1st baseman

Houston???
Dodgers can do better than Arozarena. That trade was sexy a year ago.
I think the Mariners need to go after Alonso, Ward and/or Rooker. Haniger seems to washed up
Bring Jack to Milwaukee
Pete Alonso just doesn’t fit well with the Mariners roster unless Garvee becomes 100% the backup catcher and doesn’t really play DH anymore

Braves need Springer.
My predictions 1)Gerrit Crochet to the Cubs 2)Luis Robert to the Mariners 3)Eric Fedde/Tommy Pham to the Padres 4)Michael Kopech to the Royals 5)Andrew Vaughn to Yankees
Braves need Pitching we have enough power bats to stay in a game if the pitching holds up

Arozarena to the Dodgers makes zero sense. Roberts will not sit either Hernandez nor Heyward and Arozaren can’t play center, so no need for Arozarena. Bichette is a better fit if the Jays make him available.

Why wouldn’t Luis Robert want to move away from CF and move to a corner… it would probably save his career.
idk how to explain it but you standing up during these gives me anxiety 😂😂😂😂

RANDY CANT HIT PERIOD EVERY YEAR SINCE HE STARTED HIS BATTING AVG HIS HIS BATTING STATICS HAVE DROP WITH THIS SEASON BY FAR BEING DA WORST HE SEE MORE FASTBALL AND HE NOT CATCHING UP TO THEM WHICH MEANS HE GETTING SLOWER OR DOES NOT CARE HIS FIELDING HAS GOTTEN WORSE I WOULD NOT TOUCH HIM WITH YOUR TEAM STICK OR BAT HE CONTAGIOUS YEAH HE HAS PRODUCED IN DA PLAYOFF BUT AGAIN I WOULD VET HIM FOR A BENCH PIECE AND NOT GIVING UP ANYTHING WHICH TAMPA NOT GONNA DO
Jeff Passan is a hack.
Fine, don't trade Bo. Hold on to a slumping injured player who doesn't want to be there. Get nothing for him, and have your team worse for it. You can get O'htani and Skene's right now, you're still not winning anything this year or next. Get a fat bag from LA or Cle.
I just hope the Phils get Luis Robert!!
